ECHILLS WOOD RAILWAY Standard Gauge Weekend 09 to 11 07 21

Here we have a video filmed at the Echills Wood Railway.
The railway is a 7.25" gauge ground level railway and is situated in the fantastic setting of the Kingsbury Waterpark (near Kingsbury, in England). The park consists of 15 lakes. There are substantial footpaths in the park to walk or cycle along, bikes can be hired there. there is an abundance of wildlife and birdlife to see. There are fenced off and gated areas with swings for the toddlers and older children to let off steam in separately. There is sailing on the lake at times, and a model boat club too.
The railway itself has two manned stations along its circular route, with a third (now little used, and unmanned), which was in use until the line was extended some number of years ago, (creating the newer "Far Leys" station).
This video is mainly centered on the "Old Oak Yard", motive power and carriage works area, which is situated near to the main station of the railway "Harvesters Station".
We focus on the many splendid visiting locomotives to be seen at the event.
A very warm and friendly welcome is extended to visitors throughout their stay, whether that be for a single day, or a visit for the full three days.
By prior arrangement with the event organizing team, Catering (which is brilliant) can be provided to enhance your visit.
The Friday and Saturday are "private event days" where only members, visitors and their party members are allowed to use the railway, the Sunday is then opened up for the public to ride on the splendid scale coaching stock so they too can enjoy a really spectacular event "and one you should put in your diary".
The railway also run a Narrow Gauge weekend and Traction Engine weekend, so if that is of interest to you, I am sure they will be glad to hear from you.
There are camp sites and guest houses which also extend a warm welcome to visitors.
The locomotives and rolling stock do not need to be removed back into your vehicle until you are setting off for home, unless you want to.
A visit to the fabulous railway, which winds its way through the woodland setting over little trestle bridges and a tunnel is much to be recommended.

Excellent, hopefully will join this summer as I’ve purchased a locomotive from steam work shop. They are renovating little bear that was built in 1912 can’t wait😃
