  • This event is held every year and attracts visiting locomotives from across the country and occasionally from abroad. All locomotives and rolling stock operating over this weekend will be models based upon full size railways with a standard gauge of four foot eight and a half inches.
With an EWR gauge of 7.25" the models are 1/8th scale. Some of the steam locomotives have taken their owners many years to build and their detail has been painstakingly created to produce amazingly accurate replica steam engines or battery operated diesel engines. These are all models of locomotives that once steamed along the railway lines of the UK and other countries, including express trains, goods and parcel trains. Although the 1/8th scale of these standard gauge engines can make them look quite small do not be deceived by their size as most of them will happily pull four to six carriages carrying 20 plus people

Another 7 1/4 V2! Excellent to see, I am building one in Australia so any chance to see these running great in my book. I have seen clips of the snapper and kings own, but not this green arrow before!

A shame the first American steam engine derailed, the second one fared better. I recognised Green Arrow, a Black 5 (couldn't read his name), King George 5th and another one (James 2nd or 3rd), Duke of Gloucester and a Standard 4 Tank Engine, plus 4555 the GWR Small Prairie Tank Engine. Seems the 08 shunter was in a bit of a hurry, lol. Oh, add a Royal Scot steamy, looked like preserved Scots Guardsman, correct me if I'm wrong. Got to love miniature steam engines.

Great video and although unfortunate, the rerailing procedure was interesting. Unfortunately the weather was rather damp and a lot of locos slipping badly. Did you have the chance to run your own loco?
