- it's 1st June 2024, which means that there are a load of new Lego sets available - The Lego store in Southampton were kind enough to allow me early access to the store before they opened to check everything out.

Hey Iain, saw the first instalment of your interview. Really enjoyed it. Was actually surprised when it finished. The 37 minutes flew by. Regarding the sets. Both Simbas look amazing and price wise I’d say they are decently priced. The Notre Dame is another amazing set. Surprising that cathedrals in Lego haven’t been built before since their architecture lends itself really well to Lego.

I think this may be the first time that Lego has done any sort of religious building, so we may get more in the future if it sells well.
I got the Captain Rex Y-Wing Microfighter, Paz Vizla Vs Moff Gideon Battle, and the Battle Pack! It was so cool talking to everyone in line. We all had a great time!

Great video as always, and pleased you managed to get early access into the store. You did say that the new Architecture set Notre Damme was £139.99 and I thought what! Why is that when it's £199.99 everywhere else. But you looked at the price for the Himeji Castle that was £139 I thought you can get me one for that price lol 😊..

The staff had probably forgotten to remove the old Himeji Castle sign when putting the Notre Dame sets out.

I was up at midnight to order Barad Dur and got the gwp. Drive down to pick it up and the store was nearly sold out. The gwp is going for AUD250-300. It's crazy. LOTR theme is just killing it with sets. I am building the truck and bought the tour bus. I want the Durmstrang Ship arghhhh! Some great sets.

Yes, it was lovely that they let me arrange to get into the store early. The AAA pass was an added bonus!

Today was my first experience going to the store on release day and I can’t believe how insane it was! Wow. One of the staff told me Jan & Jun are always the biggest release days in terms of number of sets. The store in my area is probably the smallest in Canada so the line up was long but I got one of the last Bara-dur sets available. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for watching. The store manager at my Lego store was quite surprised how busy it was. She only had 5 staff on for the first hour!

I went for the 3 new released Star Wars sets. Hopefully the stores had enough Rex’s Y-Wing micro fighters to go around for all to enjoy ☺️ as Lego store online completely sold out within minutes.
Bring on August 1st for the Imperial Star Destroyer!

I went to my first new release date at opening time in Liverpool. Already had the star wars sets I wanted pre-ordered online. My main purchase was the yellow truck. I also decided to get another Captain Rex along with the Luke Skywalker mech and the Up brickheadz. i would say at 9.45 there was about 50 people ahead of me. The first wave of people allowed in left just two people ahead of me. Once someone came out we were allowed in. Once I grabbed my choices it took about 20 minutes in line to get to the till. Interestingly they had about five Star Wars day GWP's in a plastic box behind the counter. While I was there people were joining the line to pay and asking for Barad Dur when they reached the till. I don't think they put them on the shelves. People were being handed them in large canvas style lego bags. It was all well organised I have to say.
Sounds like all Lego stores were busy today.
Not been to the Liverpool store yet, although it is on my list of stores to visit.

hi, thxs for the vid, I picked up the ninjago temple set, but ofc i didnt pay full price, i went online to my work site (like the one you have) and bought a voucher for X amount to save 8% at least, will be one im building. Picked up cpt rex too just to have the figure in my collection.
I hear double insider points are coming mid june. I went down at around 10am to my store and the lego truck was sold out though they said the store only had 8 sent to them will try to get on x2 points.
A lot of really nice mini figures i want to get but all a bit much to get everything on day 1. Will need to spread it out.

Unless you are really desperate to get your hands on a set on day 1, then it's can be much more cost effectively to but a set later on, when there is a decent promo.

I think in that Up! Brickheadz set they should have made Dug to go with Russell and Carl rather than Kevin. I wonder why they didn’t, maybe they are planning on bringing him out as a single Brickheadz.

Did my order for the Barad-Dur at 1am this morning and glad I did, as the GWP set has sold out online already and going for anywhere between £75/£100 on eBay already!!
Love Lord of the Rings, so had to be done first thing for me and that and will not be selling any of those on at Festivals!!
Some great sets out today and will be grabbing some of those Star Wars ones in the future!!

Notre Dame for £139?? It's around £195 on Lego web site and £199 on Amazon.
I only noticed after I posted the video that the price label was for the Himeji Castle set, and not Notre Dame.
If the Notre Dame set would actually be 139,99 at your Lego store than you should have bought them all because that is not the right price haha. They placed the wrong card at that set, the card says Himeji Castle 😂

I think the staff had moved the Himeji Castle set and replaced it with Notre Dame, but forgot to replace the price label - oops!
