Definitely a good thing you check plants regularly, if not daily. That’s a beautiful specimen and I’m so happy you were able to save a big portion of it. Have a great day! 🥰
Thanks so much! At minimum I scan them every other day or so Edith🙂 I caught the problem early on, thank goodness. Luckily I only lost about 15% of the plant. I hope you have a wonderful Friday and fabulous weekend🥰
I can truly appreciate a grower who shows, not just their successes, but also their mistakes. (Even if you aren't really sure what led to it happening). I feel like I have learned more from my mistakes, then my successes. You got me as a subscriber! The jamacaru cactus is a beautiful specimen! How long have you been growing cacti? They truly are my favorite type of plants.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment B. I agree, I’ve learned a tremendous amount more from my plants losses/failures. And it’s part of the hobby… plants die. I’ve been keeping cacti and succulents for 15 years or so 😀Thanks for subscribing!!!!
Cacti on white? More like Cacti on Rescue mission!
Ha! Right Max lol😂
I'd love to see a video on your repotting of this cactus.have a great weekend!
Thanks Ellen! I’ll be sure to film the potting this Spring😀I hope you have a great weekend too🤍
So I have a cactus I had gotten about 2 years ago now. It's grown to about 4.5 feet tall and looks identical to this but has its spikes everywhere. I just am looking for help properly identifying it and making sure this is the cactus type that it is... I mean it doubled its size in the time I've had it.
Maybe it’s Cereus peruvianus??? Sometimes it’s hard to ID cereus🙁 Thanks for watching!
Its a good thing you caught it when you did. I hope it all works out, looking forward to seeing it when its rooted again and growing.
Me too Crystal! Happy I noticed it before it was too far gone. I’m looking forward to it rooting and the re-pot in the Spring🤍
How fast do those grow? do you think they would make good rootstock for grafting?
Not the fastest grower. I think they would make great rootstock for grafting.
What a beauty. Love how when you cut it you see that star formation that is very prominent. Really like that!
Thanks Charlene! They are super cool cactus and I love how the smell when you cut (even though I hate to have to do that) them. Hope you're having a great weekend🤍
Oh no, good thing you caught it! The star shape created at the cut is so cool to see
Hi Tatiana, I'm happy I caught it in the very early stages! The star shape is super cool and smells edible - but I refrained from tasting it lol. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend🤍
Wow what a beautiful cactus
I’m sorry that you had to deal with that but I’m sure it will revive and be healthy again
Hi Eiman, thanks so much! I’m confident it will make a comeback😀 Thanks for watching and commenting🤍
Everytime you mention winter, I think it gets below -10 degrees here
Lol, you’re someplace super cold 🥶 Mariah! The Winters in North Texas pale in comparison.
