Thanks for getting in touch and a super question! OPUS is a great replacement for the C.A.B. Let us know if you have any questions concerning this!
A couple of questions about the pedal : 1) which is the point of adding preamp sims if there's no way to select them with an on board foot switch or even better with a compile I switches. There's an empty space on the lower part of the pedal. 2) I've seen there is a midi in port. I assume that's made to change presets, right? 3) Is the presets change gapless? Thank you.
Thanks for getting in touch. There simply isn't the room in the pedal to accomodate a switch but we do have MIDI integration that can be used for preset switching. The switching is very fast and you will not notice any latency in this respect. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for getting back to us. Ross from Two notes here. Hi, I just got the Opus and gigged it for the first time yesterday. It sounded pretty (actually quite unbelievably) amazing for a first try, sending the signal straight to the PA. Now I'm a bit of a noob in this realm, so here's my question: I would like to be able to use a simple midi controller to bank up and down my presets, to use it sort of as a channel switcher. I thought I would simply get a small, two button 'pedal' (left button to bank up, right button to bank down). Which midi-controller would you recommend I should use for that purpose? I think that it wouldn’t be a huge jump to expand this physically and digitally into a fully fledged effects and amp modelling solution to compete with Neural/Fractal/Line 6/Boss flagship models. (It would obviously be a huge jump I know😅). I think there would be a case to be a contender in this market.
Granted, it’s nice to have amps, but you don’t leave the user with the option to break in after the amps and put wet effects. I figure the reason to replace my cab m+ is MIDI. MIDI is something I’ve wanted but over time of owning the cab m plus, I craved it less and less. I only use my cab m plus on my amp coming out of my torpedo attenuator. Using the amp eventually moved the cab m plus off my board and onto a shelf on top of my amp….full time there….only used for cab sim for gigs where I can send to house. I like this opus for MIDI….don’t know if it’s worth the upgrade (I’ll probably buy though)

@@RossDaviesTwoNotes I have tried direct connection with usb and my iMac as well as 2 different iPads using Bluetooth. The opus does not show up as a Bluetooth option in my iPads. I am unable to access a PIN number on the opus. There is no scrolling function once I get to the global parameter. Sorry for my unedited comment.
@@bobdhoffnar Thanks for getting back to us. Can we confirm you are following the steps below to pair your device please:
- Tap on DEVICES in the bottom bar of Torpedo Remote
- Tap on “Pair a new device”
- Tap on “Pair an OPUS” and follow the prompt on screen provided by your device’s OS to pair to a new device
- OPUS will be listed on your device’s Bluetooth menu. Tap on OPUS in the list
- Input the pin code noted in OPUS’ “BLE pin code” menu item (accessed via OPUS’ OLED screen following MENU / Global / BLE pin code) - note you will have to press the right (ENTER) encoder once you are on the global menu icon in OPUS OLED display to enter this menu.
Let us know if this helps!
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes I got in but how I did it did not match the instructions. Turns out the usb cable was bad. Once I got in and registered on my computer I was able to navigate the set up via Bluetooth. A basic set up video would be of great assistance. Thanks for your help in any case. And BTW I was able to tweak a proper tone for my pedalsteel within minutes of activating the app. It sounds fantastic. It will be on stage with me within a couple days slaving my tube amp to a powered monitor. I will also use it for my in ears gigs coming up.
@@bobdhoffnar Thanks for getting back to us. You shouldn't have needed to register the device via USB to get the Bluetooth working as registration can be actioned via both the USB and Bluetooth interfaces. Regardless, we are so pleased you are up and running and enjoying your OPUS!
I would need to use a DI box when using time based effects post Opus thereby rendering the onboard XLR out useless. That's a big omission and a deal breaker for me.
Hi Kenny, thanks for getting in touch. You are indeed correct if your Time Based FX don't feature a balanced line level output - if you need any other clarification on how this could be setup within the context of your rig, let me know!
digital John 😊😊
indeed! The man., the legend!
Can you use it as an audio interface from the type c port in your favourite daw? Please answer.
Hi Jason, Thanks for getting in touch, Ross from Two notes here. No, OPUS does not include a built in Audio Interface. However it does feature all the connectivity options to connect to a standard audio interface. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with today.
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Thank you for the answer. Are you planning to do it because it would be very convenient?
@@jasonmanousos Thanks for getting back to me. At this stage there is no plan to implement this but we will certainly feed your request back to our development team for consideration! If there is anything else I can help you with, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Hi I have the revolt and cab m plus. Does the opus replace both of these or does it pair with the revolt? Thanks
Thanks for getting in touch and a super question! OPUS is a great replacement for the C.A.B. M+ as it features MIDI capability - this means you can assign a different OPUS preset to each of your ReVolt channels, or Boost States, immediately triggering OPUS changes with ReVolt's channel switches! Let us know if you have any questions concerning this!
A couple of questions about the pedal :
1) which is the point of adding preamp sims if there's no way to select them with an on board foot switch or even better with a compile I switches.
@@TwoNotestv Awesome
Will there be a Mesa Mark V crunch, Mark IV lead, or Mark V Extreme mode? I live in the crunch mode.
Thanks for getting back to us. Ross from Two notes here. At this stage there are no more plans to add additional Preamps to OPUS, however to get these tones, you could try front-loading OPUS with a drive pedal (a TS would be my preference). With the right Post EQ and gain staging of the TSM Preamp and the Drive Pedal, I am 100% confident you can achieve the tone you are looking for! Let me know if you need any more details!
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Good to know and thanks for the quick reply.
@@nomad100hd You are most welcome! if there is anything else you need, please let me know!
Thanks in advance.
Thanks so much for getting in touch. We can advise on this for sure! The Tech 21 MIDI Mouse might be the best solution for simply banking up and down presets. We are so pleased to hear this is working out well for you and thanks for the fantastic feedback!
Will this be compatible with the upcoming genome software?
Well, we cant reveal too much, but we're sure you wont be disappointed!
@@TwoNotestv Im ready to buy this now... Just want it to be compatible to use with the latest software :)
@@Paul-D It will be for sure! And remember, GENOME is not a remote application, rather it is a plugin for your DAW! Torpedo Remote is not going anywhere! :)
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Yes tbf I kind of didn't think to make that distinction - Ill look forward to the continued support of torpedo remote - I ordered an Opus this morning :D
@@Paul-D Amazing! That is great to hear and let us know if you have any other questions - we are always happy to help!
Any chance of getting the Foundry preamp as a Firmware update on the Cab M+ ?
Thanks for getting in touch and a great question - sadly we are unable to update the C.A.B. M+ to the OPUS specifications due to there being some considerable architectural differences between the two units. However you should find the current Pre installed on the C.A.B. M+ very close to that of OPUS! Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!
can i connect it to a cab without passing through an amp? like: Pedalboard > opus > cab
Thanks for getting in touch - Ross from Two notes here. You would not be able to connect this to a traditional guitar cabinet as there is no physical poweramp in the device. However, you could connect this to an active FRFR solution. Let me know if this helps and if you need anything else, I am here to help.
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Thank you for you answer! I just needed to know this! I can go into an FRFR but having a CAB (which there is the DynIR of!) i wanted to know if i could plug it directly!
@@drspody Thanks for getting back to me. Great - I am pleased I could help - let me know if there is anything else you need!
Hi, I would like to ask you a question: it is possible to use it just with a cabinet amp? I mean, following the chain: guitar > OPUS > Guitar Cabinet Amp, will it work in this way? Hope I was clear in my intent! Thanks
Thanks for getting in touch! OPUS does not feature a built in power amp so in order to use it with a traditional Guitar cab you would need to follow this signal chain: Guitar > OPUS > Power Amplifier > Guitar Cab. Please let me know if this helps!
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Thanks for your reply. So when I read on your site "the OPUS adds Pre- & Power-amp Tube-Stage Modeling™ (TSM™)" it is just a emulation and it doesn't work as a real preamp?! What's happen if I connect it to a cabinet, it is going to break something or it will sound just shitty? Ahaha im now curious! Im a newbie on this kind of digital product, i have a lot to learn ahaha 🙃, thanks for your patience!
@@rustymcaron5379 Thanks for getting back to us. That is it exactly, it is just a model of an amp. You would likely not hear anything from the cabinet as there is no enough power to drive it. Instead we would suggest using a separate poweramp like the Orange Pedalbaby or using an FRFR speaker like the HeadRush FRFR Series. Let me know if this helps to clarify things!
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes cool! Thanks for your suggestions! I'm going to check them out! Cheers

@@TwoNotestv and so are you, awesome devices. :)
@@mohitrahaman Thanks for getting back to us and thanks for the kind words - no, there is no FX loop integration planned but there are more preamps on the way! :)
@@TwoNotestvDo you mean a floor modeler or something like that 🤔
Explains the Chapmans. They look nice.
Well, we will never say never! :)
I’m new to this. Can i plug it into a non powered guitar cab and expect good sounds?
Thanks for getting in touch and a great question. Not without an amplifier hooked up to the input as OPUS does not feature a built-in power amp. If you wanted to use OPUS standalone, we would suggest using an FRFR cabinet like the HeadRush FRFR series for monitoring purposes or Studio monitors! Let us know if this helps!
DEAR TWO NOTES: Is it "Amp-->Two Notes"OPUS"-->Loadbox-->Speaker OR...............................Is it "Amp-->Loadbox-->OPUS-->Speaker? And finally what jacks use (speaker cable)?? Thank you so much for your help in advance because I am "dead in the water" ntil i know the safe way to cable this
Good morning Tim, You dont have to use a loadbox in this scenario - unless you are looking to attenuate your signal post OPUS. Let us know if this is the case and we can advise accordingly. Thanks so much!
are there any improvements on the power amp section compared to the cab m?
Thanks for getting in touch. The Power Amp has remained the same as that on the C.A.B. M+ - the big new feature in terms of the DSP processing here is the all-new TSM Preamps! Let us know if you have any other questions!
Have you had any issues with the power amp simulations in the Cab m?
@@clemensmoeller4549 oh no no, it works fine, it is just that I guess there is always room for improvements, sound quality, dynamics... but it is cool, I use a tube preamp pedal, the power amp sim and an IR cab... good sound :)
Can you run your guitar into it, and run it straight to a cabinet

honestly didnt care for the preamp sims, still think strymon is supreme. however, just ordered a valve amp and this is going into the fx loop and going to be my eq
No stero and Fxloop
Thanks for getting in touch. You are indeed correct. In terms of the FX loop, we actually feel that your spacial FX are better placed after your cabinet emulation - much like would be actioned in a pro studio recording session. In terms of the Stereo output, providing your Spacial FX placed after OPUS are Stereo, you will be able to send a Stereo signal to FOH, Mixer or interface.
