Great explanation, Scott! I like adding a bleach bypass filter above a color adjustment filter and below a black and white conversion filter. With the color adjustment filter I can adjust color intensity which impacts tonality in the B&W. With the bleach bypass (usually around 50% opacity) I get to tweak contrast in a unique way that dynamic contrast doesn't readily match.
