No educated man ever paid attention to women's issues like menstrual hygiene and the hardships faced by women during their period....but look at this legend..Mr Arunachalam..an ordinary man with an extraordinary mission..sometimes education is not just enough..this man is a living example of it..he may not be very educated...he may not be able to speak correct English..but he did what even highly educated men couldn't do...and that deserves Respect..i am sure every woman who comes to know about his work will feel so proud of him..i dont know but i clapped so hard during the last part of his talk..#ProudIndian

I came to know about this Tamil man through Hindi movie Pad Man. No Tamil movie speaks about him. What a shame! He truly opened my eyes that 'Good and selfless man' does exist on earth.

I am not Indian and i just saw his story in someone's fb post but i can say he is THE MAN. Reading what he had gone through while doing his work, his research, he is still the man! In spite of everything happened to him, obstacles, cultural things and all but he was beyond everything, really. This man is invincible and a transcendent. No fear, no shame, no limits at all. What is more, he knew what is truth when it comes to life and money, a real wise man. I liked it specially when he said what is the point of accumulating money then you will die. he was so focused on what he wanted to do which he did and while he is doing what he loves that is all that matters for him, it seems. Again when i encounter stories like this it makes me ponder a bit. Thanks

I watched the film Padman and then I decided to know the real man behind this invention, this human achievement..I think no matter what we do we can't thank him or respect him enough, not just Indian but females all over the world..This is amazing and so inspiring.

Never underestimate the power of a common man! Indeed, this guy turned out to be such a genius! I watched the video till the end..The amount of dedication & persistence in him is astounding! In India, a country that has made periods a taboo and women are not facilitated and even looked down upon, this man saw injustice, and despite his lack of education, setbacks and judgement of society, friends and family, he developed a product, not to make money, but to better the position of the women in the society of India. I had a girlfriend from berhampur odisha, she told me once about treatment she got in her house when she had her 1st period, she was kept in a different room different plates, glass, no one allowed to touch her or anything and she was 13 year old that time.I cried hearing that. No one should have such treatment, let alone little girls.
