Arunachalam Muruganantham is a social entrepreneur, famous for inventing a low-cost production process for sanitary pads, and increasing awareness of and access to hygienic menstruation practices in rural India. In 2018, he was featured in the Academy Award-winning documentary Period. End of Sentence., and had his life story adapted into the Bollywood film Pad Man. He is currently trying to expand his sanitary pad-making machines to other developing countries.
