    4:25 "This say you lucky."
    Mr. Miyagi will always remain the humble hero that was the warrior that liked tending to his garden instead of fighting. He found a son in Daniel when Daniel needed a father figure. They guided each other through important moments of their lives.
    The scene when Daniel consoles Miyagi about their dads was so moving and I'm glad that he was there for his teacher in this story.

    I'll say this about Sato... When Miyagi came to save him during the storm, Sato honestly believed he was there to kill him while he was defenseless. And yet, he didn't filch, didn't beg for his life. He stared his impending death directly in the face without fear.
    The man had grit. You got to give him that.

    • @ronfehr7899
      @ronfehr7899 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      And it's admirable that Mr. Miyagi didn't take offense or advantage of that. To him, Sato was still his friend, and he wanted to save him.

      powerfully intense experience like that in the middle of an ultra high-risk environment like a hurricane, can indeed make a man do not only a total turnaround, but a surprisingly fast one - especially when taking into account that there already was still some lingering good in the man that was struggling to ber let free.

      The actual technique is outside block to straight/cross/hook punch. Though the way Daniel executed it with haymakers was probably because he was gassed/tired. Sloppy, but it worked.

    Karate Kid II tells us more about Daniel and Mr Miyagi's past. Karate originated from Japan (contrary to what some people think no it isn't Chinese) and in this film we learn about the backstory of Mr Miyagi and Karate.
    in Japan honor means everything, what Mr Miyagi did may have been the more mature thing...but many people wouldn't see it that way.

    I was just a kid after the first Karate Kid was released but I do remember the movie was so successful and inspiring that karate enrollment skyrocketed throughout the country. Producers wanted the beginning of KKII to be the ending of the first Karate Kid but decided to place it in KKII. I remember the high anticipation going into the sequel as there was alot of merchandise: booklets, posters, stickers, buttons, tshirts and even action figures. I recall begging my dad for $5 to purchase a KKII booklet at our school's book fair. I wished I had kept it as it had many nice still photos of the movie and a poster was included. That was one of the reasons why this franchise means alot to me and overall, it's a classic.

    Sato is played by Danny Kamekona, Hawaiian background. This was a big thing filming a major motion picture in Kaneohe on Oahu (Hawaii). If you lived in Hawaii you know where in Kaneohe they filmed, unmistakable background. Lots of local (Hawaii) actors, Pat Morita is not from Hawaii but was welcomed as a local. So wonderful you enjoyed Mr. Miyagi, beloved character! Keep going for part 3 and 4. 4 is a bit different, some changes (no spoilers) but should be seen if you want to to continue the story.
    You would have loved the 80's clothes and scene, please react to more 80's movies ( and other stuff) if you can find them.
