Thomas Earnshaw, like AVi-8, Nubeo, Ballast, Spinnaker, Pegoud, Duxot, RGMT, CCCP and a host of others, are owned by Solar Time Ltd, Kowloon, Hong Kong. They are distributed through a subsidiary set up in London, The Dartmouth Brands. Although all the brands have separate web sites and pretend to be separate entities, they're all run and administered from the same offices in London/Hong Kong.
To be fair, aesthetically they did an amazing job with this watch. Imo this is one of the nicer skeletons I've seen from a no name brand. But as you say, would never pay that price.
If this was 30 quid I'd buy it to have it at home just to look at every so often. Not too sure about wearing it, maybe once in a blue moon. But I think there is something to be said for watches as art pieces, as long as you're not breaking the bank on something you never wear.
My Earnshaw looks great but only lasted 6 years before the hour hand detached. Thanks to your review I won"t bother trying to get it repaired but might just head off to Aldi instead.

I love my Thomas Earnshaw watches. They are beautiful and affordable. The overpriced retail prices are not uncommon in the watch industry. I don't know why you get so worked over this. A little research and you learn to buy them at a deep discount. I buy directly from HK Earnshaw, pay less than $200 (usually much less) and have gotten free watch cases with each purchase on top of free shipping. I knew instantly they were a Hong Kong brand with a fantasy lineage. I doubt many believe it isn't. I think your anger is misplaced. These are beautiful watches at an affordable price. If they were made in England, they would cost $50,000 and few could own one. I happy to have my Earnshaw watches. Buy them cheaply and experience the joys of the hobby.
I had a dispute with them and had to get a watch replaced so i asked about the burgundy drake they did not have it, now this was a £279 replacement so my second choice was called a duke caramel chronograph.. Didnt have on dither so i settled for a sky blue Barallier it took from nov 9th until it decided to go back and forth from Hong kong to france then london then back to france then back to stanstead finally i got an e mail offering me a replacement for the replacement along with a leather card holder as compensation, watch finally arrived and no leather card holder, then the original watch arrives aswell so then i made them aware of it turning up as i would not feel right in not telling them about it. I was asked after all this messing about and lack of compensation if i would kindly pack the watch up and take it 49 miles awsy to a fed ex dept for sending back. 😂. Its still here btw. I then went onto google and put in the words Duke caramel earnshaw watch to my suprise it was on sale in Argos for £44 i kid you not. And its actually a nice chrono. So dont be fooled by the pricing.
i saw an earshaw watch which was 35000 INR already discounted 50% after that they added 50% more which gets to 15000 INR which is very cheap so i checked some reviews and found u and after hearin the sound from the watch im done man

The earnshaw drake is one of the best bang for buck watches if you pay the sale price on it, good solid quality
Never buy that for 700 pounds. I just got mine for 70 dollars. Brand new. I might have overpaid but it looks nice.

Problem with Earnshaw watches are that numbers and name inside the watch starts falling off
Consider holding your watch a lot more still… or just set it down somewhere, on the bench perhaps ;)
