0:49 Sooooo lemme get this straight, they send you a watch, for free mind you. And you can't do anything but bash them??? Hmmmmmm?? Did you ever hear the old adage, "If someone lacks respect for others it's a sure bet they lack respect for themselves". Funny thing happened the other day. I went by my local cathedral and the time on the clock tower was 12:30. By way of experiment I set my Thomas Earnshaw Longcase to the tower. The next day I drove by the tower, and darned if the clock tower didn't look two minutes slow.. AND During that 24 hour period I got no less than 6 compliments on my beautiful watch. As well that watch yer calling a piece of crap got me to work on time....... Twice mind you. Juss saying.
Yes, some of these companies send me watches free in EXCHANGE for a review and publicity. They don't do this out of the kindness of their hearts...lol. I review these watches fairly no matter how I obtain them and Thomas Earnshaw is simply GARBAGE. You were obviously tricked by the company and are now mad. Do your research next time and don't be so simple and gullible...lol.
I think your review worked, I'm watching this 3 years later and these are selling for about $130 now. Seems reasonable at that price, but $630 is outrageous imo.
It's a typical Chinese brand of wrist watch with a fake European history for non-collectors who don't want an expensive brand such as Rolex or Patek Philippe. For $150, they'd be fine but over $1 000 is ridiculous.
Yes guys I screwed up commenting about the Roman vs Arabic numerals. I knew the difference but had a brain fart. Thanks to all of you dickheads that mercilessly pointed this out for me...lol. I love my subscribers and their brutal honesty!
I think the brand is fine, some designs are really nice and the quality is good. Yes, agreed on the marketing of the ''big price, big discount''. But really, I wear the brand with no problem besides my collection of Omega Tissot Longines etc.
I have one. Bought it for 100 bucks. You can find the everywhere for less than 150 and I’d say it’s worth it. Looks cool and runs just fine 👍 just don’t pay 600 bucks for it haha
I'd like to ask, I was just about to pull the trigger on one of these watches, as I proceed taxes are excluded. Now I would like to know once shipped into the US where do I pay this fee for release of my goods?
I bought one recently and was broken when it arrived. I took it to a watch repairer to confirm it was broken and what pice to fix. Then told Thomas Earnshaw who told me because I took it to the watch repairer to look at it (look not tamper) I voided the warranty and they wouldn’t replace or repair for free. Oh and the watch repairer confirmed that it would of been broken before it shipped not due to shipping
It does make some sense to buy this as your daily watch. Something that you wouldn't cry over if you lose or break. I just grabbed one for $50 plus shipping. I don't think it's a bad deal, even though, I would probably get way less when I go and try to resell it, if that ever happen. It was basically between this and a $30 dollar watch from Ali Baba that I couldn't pronounce its name even if I tried.
Although I agree on the price argument (nothing compared to real scammers like tufina watches), there is a real "effort" in the design of the watches. They simply look great. And they don't try to hide behind some "made in Germany" kind of false marketing.
John Bradford I bought an Thomas Earnshaw Whiston watch from a TV shopping channel here in the UK. It came with free postage in a wooden box with a leather style strap plus a metal expanding bracelet strap also included. First impression was great value for money at £99 with the postage included.
One of my first watches, developed a fault, within a year, sent in and told model deleted, so since then would not ever touch the brand again. Very much over played on the history of the T.E. discovery. Great video and extremely honest.
Came here after seeing a load of Ernshaw watches on amazon around £100. Look about the quality you'd expect at that money. Was surprised to hear the prices in this video.
But aren’t micro brands doing the same thing all the way across the board too. I agree with you 100% on your info. But we are getting hit by all kinds of brands that are starting at ridiculous prices and they have no history, they have no long term proven quality whatsoever. Why spend over $300 for a watch that doesn’t have proven quality when you can get several Seikos, Orients, Citizens all under this price. Earnshaw is everything you say, but so are lot of others. Thanks for saying what needs to be said!
I bought 4 Earnshaw watches for the Halloween special and was sent to BEAUTIFUL leather watch cases and the watches are beautiful and accurate. I paid less than $200 for them, 3 under $150.
An eye-opener! Thanks! I just saw a review for their 'SWISS MADE' Beagle watch where the reviewer indicated that it was really worth the approximate $2000 price tag. Your review has made me think twice about buying an Earnshaw Beagle (available for around $400).
Yes, the original prices are sky high, but I never buy them at that price. I don't know anyone who does. A beautiful watch for usually less than $150 on sale.
I personally like the watches by earnshaw especially the Skelton ones. I'm not that impressed with the one your reviewing though on the design side of things. However you can get these watches for 100 UK pounds plus.
then where can you get an affordable skeleton watch? some of their watches look ok, and they have variations. while they look similar, they offer different hands, cut outs, n stuff.
I agree they are too expensive, I would never pay $300 for these watches, but with the sale right now they are buy one get one which makes them like $150 with the express shipping. I had a citizen but I returned it because the strap was stupidly uncomfortable.
Mate if you get ideal world they do them for much better prices yes they ain't amazing quality I do think they use cheap auto mechanisms but they have nice looking but if your a collector then you'll know what they are worth. I totally get not being super impressed with these. But I don't fault them for the name. Naming a watch company after Thomas Earnshaw doesn't strike me as any worse than naming a car company after Nikola Tesla or Abraham Lincoln. That double-E logo is awful, though. Looks like that one has a Miyota, based on how freely the rotor spins in one direction. I see their Echelon with Ronda R150 Automatic is currently $139 at Ashford.
Well Tesla was a pioneer of electricity hence that name but the Lincoln one I agree with. Earnshaw was/is VERY obscure at best and people hate the fake history. This current company owned by Dartmouth brands has NO connection to Thomas Earnshaw and the history is fake as hell.
Except Nikola Tesla and Abraham Lincoln didn’t make cars. Earnshaw actually did make watches. It would be like if I named a company Steve Jobs and the company made phones and computers. It’s deceitful to the consumer to give the impression it has ties to the name in question and to piggyback on whatever quality is associated with the name.
Miyota or Seiko movement?? If that was the case, it would've been at least decent mechanical wise. Earnshaw watches almost all have a crappy Chinese Seagull movement.
