The Sound of Music and Gone with the Wind sets are just as awesome. Those sets (including the Casablanca set) are currently displayed atop my Blu-ray collection...and rightfully so. They deserve special praise, in my opinion :).
I received the Ultimate Collector's Edition of Casablanca along with The Wizard Of Oz and Gone With The Wind on Blu-Ray for Christmas last year and they are all amazing! Their image quality is beyond words and the sound is excellent. When it comes to bonus features they are equally great because not only they have all features from previous DVD releases but also they have new ones.
I so DESPERATELY want the Casablanca Blu-ray boxed set. I recently just bought it on DVD at Walmart for $5, but since it's one of my top 10 favorite movies ever (which is weird for someone my age to say that), I'm pretty much obligated to buy the best version possible, but my Walmart has never sold the boxed set at any time.
TOTALLY right about WB man, I got the Blu Ray for The Aviator because I'm a fan of the movie (even though a lot of people didn't like it, I LOVED it, the rest be damned I'll watch what I want!) a while ago, and then I looked at the back only afterwards to see the special features. When I compared it with the 2-Disc DVD set I was shocked to find for the first time probably EVER, MORE CONTENT ON THE BLU RAY than on the DVD edition. MORE. Absolutely shocking, and also from WB.
do you know if the 70th anniversary one comes by it self outside of the box set without the stuff? or do you have to get the huge box set. i know the sound of music and the wizard of oz came separately as well as in the box set and the movie is the same.
this movie(casablanca) doesn't interest me much but bugger me thats an impressive array of extras. SWAP is right..its almost like grand theft was required in order to supply all of those goodies

I would love to have that Casablanca set! But its like a hundred bucks on amazon so my standard blu ray edition will have to do.
