Yes!!!! Show the dogs more when you’re at your parents house!!! They’re soooooooooo cute. 😍😭 Also I love the festive sweater! Such a great way to make something old feel new.
The subtitles think you said “hi I’m rebecca and welcome to the Korean band knitting podcast” and I think that’s adorable/definitely something someone should make ahaha
My heart went out to you with your mangled yarn mess and guilty but sooooooo sweet Mr Ed. I was laughing out loud at his swipes to get your attention, such a sweetie. But your frustration was so palpable that you had my utmost sympathy. My German Shepard cannot resist wet wool … which I learned the hard way… so anything which has been washed and needs drying now does so behind a firmly closed bathroom door. I LOVE your sparkly festive sweater, what a terrific idea!! I could see using a technique like that to cover up tiny holes in store bought older pieces too… yay to your creativity!
The advent looks beautiful! Alterknit universe is my LYS which is wonderful, I love Kim's recycled yarn.....but what made the video for me was watching Hugh Grant dance at double speed!!!!
Loving the stars and beads embroidery!!😍 What a great idea and how gorgeous! That candy cane blanket will be awesome, looks really Christmassy. So glad you are doing Vlogmas, looking forward to every episode. Hugs from Texas. Barbara
Oh wooow I already know I’m gonna want to make that quarter zip sweater 🤩 what a perfect staple piece with a little something extra! I can’t wait to see it progress
Looking forward to watching through December . 🤩 I am now super excited for February and will be definitely be knitting your new design when it is released.
It’s amazing watching you grew as a knitwear designer. You’ve come a long way in a very short time. Kudos Rebecca. And your upcycled Xmas sweater is perfect 👍🤩.
Yay! I am here for the vlogging and definitely here for all the dog content! It makes me feel really lucky that neither our dog or our three cats ever get into my knitting and mess with my yarn. I absolutely ADORE your starry sweater, and it would be so sad to undo all that beautiful work -- I think you need a sparkly sweater all year round! Looking forward to more festive episodes :) I got an advent from The Wool Shed and I'm planning to make the Advent Wrap by Iris H., though not casting it on just yet. I had planned to knit a dress for Christmas, but I ended up abandoning it after my first Vlogmas episode because it wasn't working out. Luckily, I have a new project to work that I'll be chatting about in my second Vlogmas episode ;)
I definitely need to be more clued up about dogs and yarn, I just assumed all of them were as chilled out as my older dog. Can't wait to see what you're getting up to inn episode 2!
Very classy Christmas sweater. I may do something similar to a solid black mock turtle neck sweater that I have. Thanks for the idea! And LOL about the dog! Been there.
Love the new design--that texture and collar 😍. The festive sweater is such a good idea and turned out so well! I am doing my second yarn advent and didn't pay attention that I ordered a 10g mini one (thought it was 20) so my original plan to use them in a colorwork yoke sweater didn't pan out (I need to hold them double). I am not sure what to do with them but wanted something relaxing to work a new color each day...shawls are the easy option but I have knit several in the past few months already, so I am undecided and it's already the 5th of December (ha). I like your idea with your blanket of working a plain section, as that will break it all up if the colors each day are really variable. I am mainly knitting for me but I do have some gifts that should really get some attention. 😉. Thanks for sharing your time!
Hi Rebecca! I love your new sweater ❤️❤️❤️ Definitely something I want to knit 🤗 It looks so professional, clean, something to wear when I go out to my family and stuff. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! I really like the embroidery you made on your no frills sweater, it’s really festive looking 🤩 Take care!
Really love the embellishments on your sweater, very pretty. Creative thinking outside the box is something I aspire to do more of. Would love to see more ☺️
❤❤what a beautiful sweater! You are so creative and make the most beautiful things! 💕 Love your parents dogs 🐕… they are just adorable 🥰! Everything is made better with a pup 🐶 😉! I really enjoy when everyone shows their yarn but I have to fight the fomo… 😂 I am not allowing myself anymore yarn because I really need to use up more of what I have 🫣😂
@@the.creabea Me, too. One of my ancestors left there in the 1600s to emigrate to America. I've never visited Scotland but when I do, I'm going to Lanark.
Hi Rebecca thanks for a lovely festive episode. I like to see your progress on your advent projekt It looks promising. I have three yarny advent calenders (but here in Denmark advent means the for sunday of advent, so four bigger presents') I'm not knitting from them yet. I have a relatively new tradition of trying to clear my needles before the new year, so no cast-ons yet. I'm currently knitting on two pairs of socks and a blanket.
I love your upcycled sweater. Part of me is now considering finding a secondhand sweater to upcycle. I'm not doing any advent knitting, but I hope to have my first ever sweater finished by Christmas.
Loved your festive podcast format! Your festive sweater is so elegant. You could definitely keep the up-cycle elements. It’s perfect for winter and will be appropriate for many occasions. I had to laugh at the yarn/dog fiasco. Been there, done that.
I love your new zip sweater! Im sorry the dog got your knitting. I think you came up with a great solution! I got an advent as well. It came with a lace cowl pattern and I don’t really like knitting lace so I might make the Homespun House blanket as well. ❤
Non-superwash minis: I think some scrappy fingerless mittens would work and you should have enough yarn, even if you don’t get a lot of non-superwash minis in your advent calendar. I didn’t get a yarn-y calendar this year (but I do have a couple of chocolate ones 😅). Currently knitting on a raglan sweater in a somewhat festive color 💚 Your festive sweater is stunning!
The Irish and Gorden setters are beautiful and I love how you didn’t blame the Gorden for getting into your project but yourself for leaving it where he could reach it 😊😂. The festive sweater is very festive and I enjoyed seeing the new project. I haven’t yet decided what to knit with my advent of 24 10 gram DK weight minis. It’s difficult not knowing the colors before hand but I’m leaning towards a Miniadventure cowl. Have a fun December and thank you for sharing it with us. 🌲
He's only a puppy so I definitely should have known better. We've had a few dogs before and they've never been fussed for yarn, so it's a real learning curve not to leave things lying around. I'm the same about not knowing the colours coming. It's fun, but i do find it challenging to just let the colours happen.
Your festive sweater is everything 🤩🤩. So perfect and so well executed. I am completely inspired to do something similar as I too know I won’t wear a sweater covered in green and red! Thank you for the inspiration!!
Have your tried this...after you purl put your needle into the knit stitch and give be it a little tug. Chances are you are making your purl stitch a little loose and this tug will eliminate the excess yarn. I use this consistently when I do ribbing.
I definitely need to practice this! I've worked out that by turning the work inside out, I'm getting great gauge. But I often have issues with purling so will keep this in mind for the next time
The festive sweater is beautiful! And such a great idea! I’m in the camp of sparkly sweaters aren’t just for Christmas so it could stay like that all year round 😁 I love the vlog style and the doggies are so cute. The way he kept putting his paw out like give me attention please not the camera 😂 xx
Wow! Rebecca that festive-ised (?) sweater looks gorgeous! 😍 Yes, I'm finally getting caught up on podcasts and vlogmas! You need your own dog and you need to give those two a bone each to keep them out of your knitting next time! Labs can be really cheeky when they want attention! 🤣 I actually saw Sarah K's episode yesterday, heard her mention her swap going to you and thought "I NEED to get caught up!"
Been living in northeast Ohio for many years now and I can’t believe you’re going to design something using Bare Naked Wool! I’ve never actually tried that yarn yet but- maybe I’ll need to now. Only can think of Kent, Ohio and Dublin, Ohio but I’ll bet there is something you can use. 😊
That dog made it clear you should be paying attention to him and not knitting/podcasting 🤣🤣. I made the Casapinka Noncho with minis. It’s a long poncho, very pretty.
A nice fit...I see so many that have a scooped neck that doesn't properly fit and they wear a T-shirt underneath it to compensate for the TOO LARGENESS of the scooped neck! Yours is a perfect fit on you!!!
Yep, happens to all of us with doggy family members! My daughter’s lovely sproodle, Bernie, got hold of my knitting and made some lovely breaks in my longest Chiagoo cable. Clearly she likes sheepy smells, too… 😂
I love your festive sweater! I am knitting #5 of 6 animals needed for Christmas, out of the Knitted Animal Friends, and Knitted Wild Animal Friends books. They are going to be so cute, but I'm ready to be done and back to regular knitting. Knitting so much with this cotton/acrylic yarn has caused great wrist pain. Also, for the first time I purchased the Advent skein from the Cozy Knitter, so I'm working on those, plus a sock MKAL offered by Sari Nordlund
Great episode, love the dogs. Your zippered sweater is looking so nice. You say the yarn goes a long way, do you know what size they are. On website it says 2ounce and 4 ounce and I wondered what size you have. I’m knitting a blanket too with lots of scrap. Main colour is grey with stripes of other colours. The edges I am doing like the Sophie shawl so it looks like an icord. Never knitted a blanket before so hope it works out. I want it to look like Moonstone plaid blanket but mine is dk weight. Your upcycled festive sweater looks great x
Thank you! I'm using the 4oz skeins. I'm about halfway through the body and I've only just started the 3rd skein, soI think it goes quire far. Love the sound of your scrap blanket
Love Bare Naked Yarns! And will most likely love your new design as well. Beautiful dogs, but you'll need to be careful about guarding your yarn (guess it's too late for that advice - right?) Thanks for posting - we all enjoy seeing your creativity of display. Love the idea of taking a plain sweater and upcycling for the holidays. Such a lovely and tasteful design!
Super fun episode!! Wonding did you decide not to release the Webster sweater/hat? Love the embroidery on your sweater and the zipper sweater looks so fabulous!! I need to check out that yarn. I grew up in Ohio😍
This was such a cute video!! ❤️❤️ I love the upcycling of your sweater!! It came out SO good! The first sweater I knit was in an 100% acrylic super bulky weight yarn that is called celestial. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish a sweater and didn’t want to invest in good yarn until I finished it. And then I decided to sew stars on it because that would be cute! And to cover any mistakes. It did not go well. I was using embroidery techniques (and I don’t know how to embroider) with just a silver worsted weight yarn. I ended up cutting it all off and it’s just plain now. But maybe I should reconsider it. And go on a deeper dive for techniques. Maybe duplicate stitch would be the way to go? If anyone has any ideas or directions please send them my way! But really a great video with cute puppies and the traditional Christmas knitting frustration and irritation but worth it because cute project! Can’t wait for your next update!
I like your embellished sweater ❤ One of the best things that I ever made for my husband is when I took a thrifted sweater & duplicate stitched Snoop Dogg's face with a Santa hat for his Christmas sweater 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, I don't really have any suggestions, there are so many different Advent ideas! I'm using mine (Advent) to knit another Dingley Dell by Isobel Kraemer. I made one earlier this year and loved it. 💜💜💜
Rebecca how adorable , I was just reaching to turn off your blog it's very hard for me to understand what you're saying you speak so quickly....... then I saw you hug your dog, I love the way you were loving him and giving him the attention he needed...... so I was able to finish the rest of your blog hope you have a wonderful season and enjoy those long walks with your pups
Yes!!!! Show the dogs more when you’re at your parents house!!! They’re soooooooooo cute. 😍😭
Also I love the festive sweater! Such a great way to make something old feel new.
They are adorable! I'll try to store up some good footage of them to share next episode!
The subtitles think you said “hi I’m rebecca and welcome to the Korean band knitting podcast” and I think that’s adorable/definitely something someone should make ahaha
It also translated half fisherman’s rib to “half insurance rib” 😂
The captions and my accent don't do so well together!
The best moment of the Love’s actually😂
I love your upcycled sweater! The embellishments are so non-descriptive you could wear it every single day if you wanted to 🤩.
Definitely true, I think even if I take off the yoke ones I'll leave the cuffs, they're just so cute
My heart went out to you with your mangled yarn mess and guilty but sooooooo sweet Mr Ed. I was laughing out loud at his swipes to get your attention, such a sweetie. But your frustration was so palpable that you had my utmost sympathy. Haha Mr Ed is the sweetest dog, he only wants cuddles and attention. I think embroidery would be a great way to cover up some little holes!
Adorable sparkles on your sweater design. Christmas joy!❤
Lovely idea upcycling and great job! Also, that movie is my favourite and seeing Hugh Grant’s bum move that fast was hilarious!
We all love Hugh Grants bum
The advent looks beautiful! Alterknit universe is my LYS which is wonderful, I love Kim's recycled yarn.....but what made the video for me was watching Hugh Grant dance at double speed!!!!
Oh how amazing! I'm keeping an eye open for more of their minis later in January
I love your new design! Awesome work! And I love the Ohio / Scotland link! 🐑♥️🐑♥️🐑
Thank you!!!
Loved your dog footage! Makes me want another Irish Setter, but I know my Sheltie wouldn’t like that. So fun to sit and knit with you.
Our Irish Setter is a very soft and gentle boy!
Dont remove them😍 its so so pretty! Fab all the winter months😁
Yay! They might just have to stay
Loving the stars and beads embroidery!!😍 What a great idea and how gorgeous! That candy cane blanket will be awesome, looks really Christmassy. So glad you are doing Vlogmas, looking forward to every episode. Hugs from Texas. Barbara

He is a real cuddle-fiend!
Oh my word! first off... that Doggo is adorable! and love love love the zipper sweater.
He really is so cute!
I am loving what you've got already on this design! Found you thanks to Megha, and I'm glad of it.
Thank you so much!!
That’s such a lovely creative solution to a festive sweater! You’ve inspired me!
It was so easy to do and a lovely way to spend a few hours!

I finished a sock- gift knitting 😅
Thank you! And congrats on finishing up the sock
Okay, so now you are a true creator. Good heaven's! Brilliant idea and just lovely to boot. Is there anything you can't do? Love it!
It ended up being so much easier than I expected!
Your festive sweater looks stunning! What a great idea🥰 Thank you for a festive and lovely episode☃️
Thank you!!
Very classy Christmas sweater. I may do something similar to a solid black mock turtle neck sweater that I have. Thanks for the idea! And LOL about the dog! Been there.
IT would look lovely with black!

Oh nooo, that's a pain. I feel like a lot of patterns are for 20g minis but so many advents I see are for 10gs!
Love your festive sweater result! I wish that I had the kind of creativity you have
I think I just see lots of other people doing things like this and want to join in!
yay for the love, actually cameo !! :)
Your sweater with the stars is amazing, love your idea with the name of your sweater
Ooooh. A zippered henley! Beautiful. When I saw the yarn I immediately thought "outdoor jacket". Can't wait to see how it goes
Yes! Definitely outdoor vibes
Your festive sweater is ADORABLE!!!
Thank you!

It was something so fun to do and much easier than I expected
I love the sweater you are making.
I would love to test knit it when you get the pattern done.
yay! Tester call should be coming right before Christmas

Brilliant festive sweater idea, Rebecca, thanks for sharing!
It was so easy to work with and turned out much better than I expected

Non-superwash minis: I think some scrappy fingerless mittens would work and you should have enough yarn, even if you don’t get a lot of non-superwash minis in your advent calendar.

Love that too! Thank you so much
Love the festive Sweater!
I like your embellished sweater ❤ One of the best things that I ever made for my husband is when I took a thrifted sweater & duplicate stitched Snoop Dogg's face with a Santa hat for his Christmas sweater 🤣🤣🤣
That sounds absolutely amazing!!!
You could include your non-sw skeins in your blanket to make it even bigger! The bigger, the better!
This is a very good point, but I have realised that the blanket is a fade!
I love your festive sweater❤
Yeah, I don't really have any suggestions, there are so many different Advent ideas! I'm using mine (Advent) to knit another Dingley Dell by Isobel Kraemer. I made one earlier this year and loved it. 💜💜💜
So many great advent patterns out there!
First comment! Very fun episode
I ve used the Rico silver in Xmas jumpers for grandchildren but it has to b sewn in again and again at ends as unravels just a wee warning rebecca
Oh good to know! I'll keep an eye on it
I want to see you open the advert calendars.
I should definitely remind myself to keep filming them!
Your festive sweater is lovely!
Your festive sweater is stunning
Thank you!!
Don't you just love Love Actually 😘. Really enjoyed your podcast
It's a true classic!
There's a little cog in the bottom right of videos, you can opt to slow down the video. I'd recommend 80-90% speed and I usually sound like normal
I want an Ed! He is so dramatic!
you'll have an unique story to share regarding this color
