"I don't even sometimes think I'm playing a villain. I often feel like I'm in a comedy, but I'm the only one who knows it". There's a Joker line if I've ever heard one.
Gives me huge Bryan Cranston vibes. I think he said something to the effect of “When acting in a comedy, it’s funnier for the audience if your character seems so unaware of the humour in their situation.”
Eh... Complex and sympathetic, but a villain. If Locke was an antihero to Jack the hero, Linus was a full on antagonist villain to most everyone... except the Man in Black.
The lady interviewer seems to actually care and she's great at driving the conversation. Never saw her before but she seems to be very genuine, wouldn't mind to see her more often.
As some have said Michael will always be Harold Finch from Person of Interest to us. His chemistry with Jim Caviazel was gold, and then bringing Michael's rl wife Carrie Preston into the mix was another stroke of genius. Anyone who thinks of him as a villain needs to rewatch this series and bring him back into him being a personable hero.
No, he WASN'T! He discovered that he was a "baddy" even though he had always meant to be a "goody". Life, circumstances, etc., led him to become the man we see him as in most of the episodes of Lost. However, he was really a victim trying to do the best he could with what he was given! Aren't we ALL that person?
@@kugelweg I agree. That scene where he escaped from that woman (her name escapes me right now) who was forcing him to dig his own grave and she caught up with him and held him at gunpoint and he explained his reasons for doing the things he did, that was the moment I knew for sure he was not villain. He did some terrible things which there was no excuse for. But as the story progressed, it showed us that, though many of the things he did were cruel and wrong, he himself had been wronged in many ways, and he often thought he was doing the right thing. That's how I see it, anyway. I don't know how anyone can watch all the way to end and still think he was just a cold hearted monster when the story clearly showed that's not who he really was.
@@ChakasCave Pretty sure he really believed they weren't actually going to shoot her. He sure looked utterly shocked when they did. In the last season he changed a lot. And there is an episode where he explains why he did all the things he did. That doesn't excuse any of the bad things he did. But he changed. He is not the same Ben at the end of season 6 that he was when he first came on the show. And that's part of the whole point of the show; redemption. They all became better people on the island. It just took him longer.
Fantastic Actor, he’s brilliant in Evil, and I love how he explains the show because it shows that he has a really good understanding of it and the concepts within it. So often I see actors in roles that they don’t really grasp fully, take Jody Whittaker in Doctor Who for instance , I know that’s debatable lol but not in my opinion. She completely recked that character and its entire legacy.

LOL right?
YES! 😅
Ironic considering he played the joker in the dark knight returns
@@JorgeGomez-hx5uu Yes, that was the reason for the comparison

He is always Harold Finch to me😊..
me too!
Great Show, well written
Before he was Harold Finch, he was Ben Linus, one of the greatest characters on televison
BENJAMIN LINUS
Finch of course was a hero, not a villain. But yeah, he was loaded with the deep darkness too.
@Bob Thornton And for me, John Noble is Leland Monroe.
Man I am just here cause I wanna talk about how great he did in POI (Person of Interest)
YES! I have a billion (ok, exaggeration) channels at my disposal but what am I watching again? Season 1 of Person of Interest! Just for him. ;)
I agree
Absolutely agree. I love him. And I don't want him to play villain but anyway that it's his choice
He was fantastic in POI
Michael Emerson is such an amazing actor! It's even more amazing to see him as a cool guy in real life.
This guy played two of the biggest iconic characters in TV.
Talented former POI superstar Michael Emerson is "KILLING IT" in *EVIL.*
I Hope they Kill him soon in the series, I Hate him !!! : D
He's good!
@@ronniefarnsworth6465 HELL NO, he's one of the reasons the show is so damn good
he always gives me the creeps in evil so hes doing a great job lol.
He's my favourite. I absolutely love evil best show ❤❤
Benjamin Linus was never a villian on Lost. He was one of the good guys.
Not really.
“We’re the good guys Michael.”
I think we're forgetting how he knowingly killed like 100 innocent people on that freighter
Linus will always be a villain to me for what he did to Locke.
Eh... Complex and sympathetic, but a villain. If Locke was an antihero to Jack the hero, Linus was a full on antagonist villain to most everyone... except the Man in Black.
how could I not have forget this Villain Actor who played Zepp from Saw :')
Villains always get the best lines and delivered in the most delightfully evil ways!

He just played two of the most iconic villain, and it is still underrated. Cant wait his performance as Braniac in My adventure with Superman
I love the character he played on Person of Interest. His character and John's are equally cool but are so different.
I LOOOOOOOVE Michael Emerson.
I will forever laugh at his line from lost " thats specific, why not 3.3 or 3.4 million dollars"
So Mr. Finch is an actor now..wow! Nice Cover.
BRING BACK PERSON OF INTREST
I was really satisfied with show's finale.
no, it's a great story from top to bottom, adding to that will just water it down
He’s not conventionally attractive, yet he’s so attractive lol
why do I totally understand this? 💀💀
Same I’m so attracted to him on the show 🌚
omg ikr
He's an absolute babe
He is always Harold Finch to me
He's my third favorite Joker, no cap.
I can see Emerson playing a DC villain of some kind.

Yeah
But HOW???
being bad makes you young

A fantastic actor!!!
He is great actor ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He is the BEST!
finished season 1, this guy is amazing, holy shit terrifying
It’s cool to see Rachael fan girl over mr. Emerson
Can’t tell if it is Leland repping DF or actually an actor giving the interview. He just moves and talks so well and with such purpose. Scary.
Ben wasn't a villain anymore at the end of Lost though.

He reminds me of Nickolas Britell. I love them both
He played zep hindle in saw 1
i dont think so, i reckon youre getting in a muddle with some1 else
She never asked him how it was to create GOD in Person of Interest
Michael Emerson was the voice actor for Alpha in Ben 10-Generator Rex: Heroes United
If there someone want's to make a movie about Jon Ronson, i know who would be perfect actor to play him... ;)

What’s the latest with our new number, Finch?
From Benjamin Linus till Leland....... 🙏 Seasoned Actor. He should be cast Hero sometimes.
