Wow!! that is amazing. I have Grandstream IP PBX and phones for my home use. That mode 1 is a big help. You made setting this up so easy. Now instead of all the extensions ringing that I would use, I setup the Living room phone only to ring when I set my office phone to away. Thank you so much for the help.
Hi Willie, I am sure I was inspired by this video at some point in my Grandstream UCM adventures, but I wanted to add an additional feature to using Modes to forward to a dedicated person per Mode. In addition to switching to a new mode from the office I have added a way for the person who is getting forwarded calls from the office to return the UCM back to Default Mode while they are AWAY from the office, such as working at home. To cancel the forwarding while the non-Default mode is in operating, they can call the office and press a Key that rings a dummy extension, which in turn activates the *61 Default Mode. This way they can shut off the forwarding remotely from their home or anywhere. Of course this involves making a dummy extension, Unconditional forwarding to *61 and also the IVR needs to allow dialing an extension while it plays. My IVR says... "Please wait for the operator". Hope you like my little addition to your excellent video !!
hello i have ucm 6102 in that inbound receptionist after her work hour it should ring to other extension and after office hour it should prompt office hours please guide me with your videos
Have you tried setting up a BLF assignment for inbound mode? It simply toggles the modes between default and mode 1 and gives a visual indication on the button as to which mode you're in. It also frees up a button on the phone. This method seems to work pretty well.
Willie, I have some more questions. I bought our system through a distributor and they have not followed up with me at all on some tech support so I hope you can help. I need to set up a way for someone to dial in (delivering or picking up a part(s)) when there is no receptionist. Since the guys on the floor are running loud machines and often dirty I want a deliver person to be able to call in hit some kind of extension and have it page the shop floor with an announcement "delivery or pickup at back door" with a special ring tone. While that is happening I need it to tell the person on the line to wait long enough to ring the floor and then hang up with them. I don't know how to make an incoming call trigger an announcment. I've been trying everything from Queues to announcements. Have any quick pointers?
Hey Willie, love your videos. I have a 6402 and for some reason the day vs. night mode just stopped working. It was working... I don't know if something changed in the firmware (i updated it a few months ago) or if I broke it somehow by selecting something or checking a box somewhere else in the GUI

Is this so multiple phones can do this or is it based on a time condition?
@@chucksw1 You can automate this based time and work/holiday/weekend scheduling. This shows how to do it manually.
can you show us how to send a fax over a sip trunk line in the UCM one day?
