    Once I got saved, even the next day, things I didn't even know were sin, grieved me & convicted me, like smoking pot, I thought would be "ok" but not even thinking it was sin, it wasn't the same, I didn't cry over polluting the air going over pot smoking friends house to share Jesus, Found out later when I received Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes into your being & teaches you, grieves when you sin & convicts you, I didn't read that 1st, so something happened, yeah, I was born again though I had doubts the day before when I received Jesus, continuing in sin is difficult to do, against my new nature in Christ.

      Viking Knight don't listen to this ignorant preacher in this video. You can't quench the Holy Spirit that's not found in the Bible. The reason Jesus died for your sins is because he knew you would have the problems you just described. He died for all sins all time do that those who were born in to sin like us can have our sin debt paid for and our souls made righteous before God. When you receive Christ your made righteous and receive the Holy Spirit as a witness to convict you that you are righteous because God knows you can't keep the law of the old testament Jesus kept that law and through him you are credited as being righteous although you yourself have not kept the law. That's the definition of Grace. That's why righteousness is described as a gift and not a reward. Salvation is also described as a gift. That is why Jesus was able to die on the cross even though he never sinned (wages of sin is death) you will inherit the kingdom of God and enter into heaven (only the righteous can enter heaven) even though you your self are not righteous (because you were descended from Adam ie born into sin) Jesus taking your sin allows you to enter. Have you accepted Christ as your savior? If the answer is yes then you are already forgiven for your sins. Nothing you did in your sin both willfully or unwillfully has taken God by surprise buddy. He saw your life 2018 years ago and went to the cross for YOU! READ 1John 2:12. ROMANS 5:12-21 Psalms 139:16

    You are one of the best online pastors I have listened to! I made my decision a year ago at a camp. I had so much enthusiasm to spread the Word, that I got and stage and gave a speech. And I'm an introvert. When I got home, I felt lost since the "Holy Spirit" effect wore off. However, I got back from this and am in a better place than before. I am no longer suicidal, for I know I would go to Hell. 3 months later however, my youth pastor was fired or laid off, I do not know. I felt so betrayed. However, I found it was God's plan to move him to a different church. I do feel guilty and disappointed when I do sin. I know God is real and that Christ is my savior, and I hope he uses me to spread his word even though I am a introvert with close to no friends. In conclusion, praise God.
    Also, I plan on being baptized soon. I think this is the right move!

      Hi Mary, Salvation is no work of ours at all. Jesus did all the work for us, and when we trust in Him, we perfectly fulfill all the requirements God has for us. When they asked Jesus what they needed to do to be saved, He said: Believe, and live the rest of your life for me. None of your good works save you, and they do not give you a better standing with God or cause Him to love you any more than He has loved you, even before He created all that exists. Enjoy your new life in Jesus, you are free now to live a righteous life and find peace in what Jesus has done for you. Tell everyone what Jesus has done for you!

      @@robertcliftonrobinson4183 Why do I find something artificial about your comment. Yes, Jesus paid the price for me but obviously faith does not end there. It says in 1 John 1:7
      "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin"
      Praise God for sending Jesus but we must walk in the Light as He is in the Light else we will be in darkness and the Blood of His will not have effect upon us.
      Walking with God is part of Salvation. There is no Salvation if you are living an unrighteous life. That person has lost his or her salvation and needs to confess their sins to God and return to Him
      (unless of course you believe we don't have free will and God will do everything for us, to which, if that is your case, i say to you that is anti biblical. Jesus even warn He would remove anyone's name from the Book of Life if they take away from the words of the prophecy of Revelation)

    • @robertcliftonrobinson4183
      @robertcliftonrobinson4183 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joeydaniel3053 what you assert is salvation by works, not faith. There is nothing that must be added to Jesus' death for our sins. The text you cited in 1 John is describing fellowship with God that is interrupted by unconfessed sin, not the loss of salvation when we sin.
      At the moment anyone sincerely turns from their sins and determines to trust in Jesus for their salvation, all of their sins; past, present, and future, are forgiven. This is why we are securely saved, forever.
      "Walking in the light," in Koine-Greek, is descriptive of perpetual fellowship with Christ. When we sin after our salvation, a break in our fellowship with God occurs, but not our salvation.
      If what you assert was true, no one would ever make it to heaven. Thankfully our salvation does not depend on our ability or righteousness, but on Jesus perfect sacrifice for ALL our sins, making us perfect before God, fully ready for heaven.
      Rejoice in what Jesus has done; rest in your salvation: "it is finished!"

    This is the true gospel. It’s hard to merit but it's the truth. Jesus never said it was too easy to enter life. It’s only human doctrine that turn things to seem so easy as they want them to be. Jesus taught narrow gate, plucking eyes, cutting off sinning hands, unworthy believers, hypocrites etc. So it’s now our choice. Shaka from Uganda

    The Bible teaches us to put on the helmet of salvation because satan will try and make you doubt if you are really saved. This deception of satan is meant to make us live in fear, guilt and doubt in the victory we have in the sacrifice of Jesus' death and resurrection.
    If you could lose your salvation then you would have to earn it back but we are not free of sin based on good deeds but SOLELY on the belief in a person's heart on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the payment of sin. It's His grace that saves and not by any works we do.

If we believe we can use the free will God grants us to intentionally grieve and quench the Holy Spirit yet still believe we will receive the promises of God, we are mistaken. True faith is relying on what God has promised in His Word, He is able to perform and will perform personally for you. This applies to salvation and simple belief on what Christ has done on your behalf as opposed to anything you can do is indeed true saving faith that accounts the sinner righteous before the Father. Yes, there are warnings as to how we walk after receiving Christ as Saviour but they pertain to loss of enjoyment and being all that God intends us to be in this life, not to mention loss of rewards at the Bema seat. There will be those whose works when tried will be as wood, hay and stubble but will still be 'saved, yet as by fire'. The true child of God may also be severely chastened for persistent, wilful and serious sin and maybe 'handed over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh'.If this doesn't bring restoration, they may then be taken in 'the sleep unto death'. Sin comes with a price for the saved believer but not loss of salvation.

    • @thevoiceofonecallingout
      @thevoiceofonecallingout 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bloodboughtbigphilr8266 I see so what you believe the bible teaches is that the more a believer sins, the quicker God will bring them into His presence? Also Paul says in 1 Cor 5 that he was turned over that the spirit MAY be saved on the day of the Lord. This verb sozo (saved) in Greek is in the subjunctive mood meaning the possibility of being saved but not definitive. We know this man was a Christian because Paul is judging the man committing the incest and Paul tells us right after we don't judge those outside the church. The Bible tells us the Israelites did not enter into the Promised Land because of their lack of faith to obey. They were first hand witnesses to His existence and His power yet refused to obey. They wanted to claim the promises of God but on their terms which does not work. True faith always manifests itself (exception: true deathbed conversions and the like). Finally i don't think the passage you cite in 1 Cor 3 in context means what you think it does. It is referencing the building of the church on the foundation of Christ. It does not apply to works, but a man's work in building the church through the making of disciples on the foundation of Christ.

      We do not actually possess salvation until we die. Until then we have the HOPE of salvation. "For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" Hebrews 3:14
      Jesus told the DISCIPLES in John 15 that if they did not abide (Continue) in Him, they would be CUT OFF and BURNED. A branch has to be first attached to a vine before it can WITHER ON the vine. HE said those that wither on the vine and stop producing fruit will be cut off. Paul told the Roman Christians that if they did NOT continue in the faith, God would cut them OFF just as He did to Israel. It is all a matter of OUR choice to remain steadfast, persevere, abide, and endure to the end of our life.
      "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, * IF THOU CONTINUE * in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." Romans 11:22
      "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: * IF YE CONTINUE IN THE FAITH grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel." Col 1:21-23
      "But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF we HOLD FAST the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the END.” Heb 1:6
      "For we are made partakers of Christ, IF we HOLD the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the END;" Heb 3:14....
      "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, IF YE CONTINUE in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;" John 8:31
      "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and LOOKING BACK, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
      "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." Heb 10:38-39
      We ARE saved; we are BEING saved,; we WILL be saved.
      Belief in the Greek is in the Continuous PRESENT tense, which means we must KEEP believing. In the Western mind, it is a one time act which completes everything necessary for eternal life, but the Word does not support that. Scripture warns over and over that we must CONTINUE to believe, to abide, and to remain in Christ until we reach the end of our life. Our salvation will be completed at the resurrection.
      "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed." Romans 13:11
      CHRISTIANS (those truly "saved to begin with") CAN:
      1. Depart from the faith (1 Tim. 4:1)
      2. Wander away from the faith (1 Tim. 6:10)
      3. Swerve from the faith (1 Tim. 6:21)

      9. Swerve from the truth, upsetting the faith of some (2 Tim. 2:18)
      10. Drift away from the truth (Heb. 2:1)
      11. Have an evil, unbelieving heart, leading us to fall away from the living God (Heb. 3:12)
      12. Be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (Heb. 3:12-14)
      13. Fail to reach the promise of entering into His rest (Heb. 4:1)
      14. Fall by disobedience to enter His rest (Heb. 4:11)
      15. Fall away and impossible to restore unto repentance (Heb. 6:4-6)
      16. Deliberately go on sinning and no longer have a sacrifice for sins (Heb. 10:26-27)
      17. Shrink back (Heb. 10:38
      18. Fail to obtain the grace of God (Heb. 12:15)
      19. Wander from the truth (James 5:19-2
      20. Forsake the right way (2 Peter 2:15)
      21. Become entangled and overcome AFTER having escaped them (2 Peter 2:20-21)
      22. Be carried away with the error of lawless people and lose our stability (2 peter 3:17)
      23. Commit a sin leading to death (1 John 5:16)
      24. Stop abiding in the teaching of Christ (2 John 1:9)

      @@wizdomdiscernment2.0 Wow, Sandra, it's is RARE to come across Christians who possess the understanding that you do. But you are absolutely correct. There are actually TWO aspects to our conversion; the FIRST is, we are "Legally" saved--meaning, we have only just "entered" into God's plan--but we are not "Experientially" saved yet. WE are, in essence, in the PROCESS of being saved; we are not a "finished" product yet. Of course, the OSAS will argue, "are you KIDDING, we're NOT EVEN REALLY SAVED YET?" No, that's NOT what we're saying. Yes, you now have Jesus in your life, YES, you ARE on the RIGHT path, and YES, if you "continue" in His word (John 8:31) you WILL, in fact, inherit eternal life. And God DOES know your heart. I believe in MOST cases, those who had a serious conversion WILL in fact, see the glory of heaven. But just keep in mind, God provided numerous warnings about "falling away," and "back-sliding." If it weren't possible, He would not have said it. At any rate--remain "stedfast," nobody is anywhere NEAR the perfect little soldier; we ALL have battles to face, that's why we P R A Y!!!

    Some people push a message of “you better watch out you could lose your salvation”. Let’s examine that.
    What would cause you to lose salvation? Sin would.
    So, if Jesus died for your sins, did it work? Of course it did! That answer alone should end the discussion.
    Jesus didn’t just die for small sins or ones we rarely commit. He died for the big ones and the ones we struggle with too.
    There’s not a single verse that actually ever mentions losing salvation. No. It’s just distorted theology. And you can bet it’s almost always from legalist angry Christians and talk more about fear of them they do the love of Christ.
    Now, let’s talk about the word “eternal”.
    God’s word tells us “whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall not perish, but will have eternal life”.
    Eternal means without an end. That word is extremely important when we’re thinking about losing salvation.
    In order to lose salvation it could not be eternal, otherwise it would in fact have an end At the very best it would be temporary or contingent salvation. Emerite come from we call that works based salvation.
    And let’s take that word eternal a little deeper. Eternal doesn’t just mean without an end. It also means without a beginning.
    But wait, you had a birthday so you must have a beginning. And that’s when we discover that eternal salvation is not your life prolonged. But rather it’s Jesus‘ life given to you. It’s his eternal life you receive.
    And now it makes sense!
    Anybody teaching a theology of losing salvation is teaching law based salvation. And it’s a lie from the evil one. On one side of their mouth they are saying we are saved by faith, on the other side of their mouth they are saying we maintain it by works. That’s double-talk.
    If salvation were maintained by works then it wouldn’t be a gift. It wouldn’t be by faith. And that kind of teaching is no different than all the fake religions of the world. Fake religions that require you to earn salvation through human effort.
    How to teach losing salvation is reject the grace of God. And if we could keep our salvation through human effort then why in the world did Jesus go to the cross?
    [Galatians 2:21] “ I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness cane through the law then Christ died needlessly”.

      Timothy Wayne
      A. So, if Jesus died for your sins, did it work? Of course it did! That answer alone should end the discussion.
      Except for the fact that we must abide in the Vine in order to share his life. Eternal life is not something we can have APART FROM HIM.
      …3 You are already CLEAN because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 REMAIN IN ME, and I WILL REMAIN IN YOU. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. 5 I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who REMAINS IN ME, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing (John 15:3-5)
      Jesus describes his disciples as branches joined to him. As long as they REMAINED in a relationship of dependent faith in Him they would continue to receive His life and to bear fruit. However, the very fact He COMMANDS us to remain in Him tells us that we could CHOOSE to separate ourselves. The consequences for doing so are revealed in verse 5:
      6 If anyone does NOT REMAIN IN ME, he is like a branch that is THROWN AWAY and WITHERS [dies]. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the FIRE and burned.…
      (John 15:6)
      A branch never develops the ability to generate its own life. All that comes from the vine, the leaves, the roots, and the sun. The branches are only conduits. If we do not keep the conditions of our covenant with God we can be cut off just as Israel was.
      B. God’s word tells us “whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall not perish, but will have eternal life”.
      13 And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth- the gospel of your salvation- you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is the pledge of our inheritance UNTIL the redemption of those who are God’s possession, to the praise of His glory.…
      (Ephesians 1:13)
      Right now we have the Holy Spirit of PROMISE who gives us a kind of life that is a foretaste of the fullness of eternal life in the world to come. There is a future tense eternal life that we do not yet experience and will not until the DAY OF REDEMPTION.
      This final outcome is described by Jesus:
      46 And these [goats] will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into ETERNAL LIFE” (Matthew 25:46)
      Were the righteous admitted into eternal life because AT SOME POINT in their life they believed and confessed Christ? If OSAS were true this would be all that is necessary in order to be declared forever and unconditionally righteous. By contrast, Jesus says they entered because they led lives of faith love and obedience all of which was expressed by how they treated those who are loved by God.
      C. Now, let’s talk about the word “eternal”.
      You are assuming that we possess an immutable nature like God but we do not. You say you want to "go deeper" and go on to say "eternal (life) also means 'without beginning" Well it does when it speaks about GOD. We had a beginning.
      D. And let’s take that word eternal a little deeper. Eternal doesn’t just mean without an end. It also means without a beginning...In order to lose salvation, it could not be eternal, otherwise, it would, in fact, have an end
      Believers SHARE in His (eternal) life but since we are temporal creatures who are also moral agents we can BEGIN to share His life at one point and CEASE at another. Adam and Eve shared God's life but turned from Him through disobedience. Did the fact that God's life "did not have a beginning" prevent them from dying spiritually? No, because they were mutable moral creatures. This, however, did not in any way diminish the eternity of God's life.
      But let us look at NT scriptures:
      12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an EVIL UNBELIEVING HEART leading you to FALL AWAY from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to SHARE in Christ IF indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said,
      “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
      (Hebrews 3:12-15)
      To share in Christ, we have to continue in the faith until the end and not be led astray by an "evil unbelieving heart" Encouraging others to listen to and obey the Holy Spirit is not "law teaching." Comforting Christians who are continually living in sin is not an indicator of mercy and love.

      JESUS said HE was the Vine:
      1 I am the TRUE vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard (John 15:1)
      Since he was talking to his disciples it follows that it applies to all generations who would come into a covenant relationship with Him. In the metaphor of the teaching, the Father is the Keeper of the Vinyard. He also called Himself the Way (to the Father) the Truth (about the Father) and the Life (of the Father) we can only enjoy fellowship with the Father through Jesus. This matter is not confusing if you simply believe what Jesus said.
      Where is the Church referred to as a branch? Right here and had Jesus taught this nowhere else it would be enough. Yes other metaphors were used for Israel but in the context of the NEW COVENANT both saved Israel and saved Gentiles are branches. Paul also used this imagery to teach about the connection between Jew and Gentile believers have with Christ:
      …21 For if God did not spare the natural BRANCHES (natural but unbelieving Israel) He WILL NOT SPARE YOU you either. 22 Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise, YOU WILL BE CUT OFF. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.…
      (Romans 11:21-23)
      The agricultural metaphors Jesus used were meant to make things EASIER to understand. Instead of accepting His simple teaching about the New Covenant you are attempting to import other metaphors. I suspect you are doing this because you do not like the idea that branches connected to Christ can be cut off but this is taught in Romans 11 and in John 15

    Let me say THIS; as long as you "continue" in your faith, as long as you keep praying, keep fellow-shipping, keep reading your Bible, and just...basically stay "tuned in" to God's Spirit--His word, you'll be okay. But keep in ,mind, God, and His Christ NEVER said this would be a "cake-walk," in fact, scripture declares, "in this life, you will HAVE TRIBULATION." That's where the "rubber-meets-the-road." Scripture is ALSO quite clear--if you bother to read the NUMEROUS warnings Paul gives to the churches. He's talking to those who had "heard" the word, and the context is, they were/are accountable for what they were taught. I could bring a LARGE number of verses to bare, but suffice it to say, Paul tried to warn these churches about having "itching ears." So, what do you think that MEANS? It means that AFTER their conversion, they began to "listen" to teaching that went OUTSIDE of the Bible. If a Christian cannot "fall-away," then, why all he warnings, and why do we even SEE terms like, "falling away," "backsliding," (which means "Sliding BACK), "Apostasy," and "turning away?" I think it's quite obvious, a person CAN "slip away," and begin to distance themselves to a point where they never return. Can one who has "fallen" be "grafted BACK in," yes! The book of John tells us it CAN be done. In fact, the very CONTEXT of that verse PROVES a "believer" CAN fall away, because it tells of those who HAVE fallen, but, if they REPENT, like King David did, they can be Re-renewed! So, be sober-minded, and careful in your walk. The devil is as a "roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Who do you think he goes for the MOST--US!! Pray, and be blessed.

      Obeying Christ's commands is an expression of our love for Him. I assure you no heretical Pharisee loves Christ or obeys His commands. ANYONE who does not obey Christ does NOT love him no matter what theological beliefs they CONFESS. Jesus said:
      Whoever has My commandments and KEEPS THEM is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him."
      (John 14:15)
      Notice how Jesus links obedience to a love relationship with God and then makes this the basic requirement for salvation. Furthermore, Jesus said that to REMAIN in this Love (as opposed from moving OUT of it) we must CONTINUE to submit to Him:
      If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and remain in His love.
      (John 15:10
      )
      By proclaiming a gospel that separates obedience from faith you encourage believers NOT to love Christ and as Paul said:
      "If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema (cursed) Maranatha."
      (1 Corinthians 16:22)
      To every error there is an equal and opposite error. Opposite legalistic Phariseeism there is the equally heretical teaching of antinomian free grace.

      Are you saying obeying the commands of Jesus is the same thing as the Pharisees attempting to establish their own righteousness through obedience to the Mosaic law?
      What you do not seem to understand is that outside the context of Paul's corrective remarks about the Judaizer's teaching, the word "works" simply means actions and does not necessarily mean "legal works" The word, as used by Jesus and James can also refer to obedient responses of the will or "doing what God said.
      5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the OBEDIENCE that comes from FAITH for his name’s sake.
      (Romans 1:5)
      Paul never taught a "faith" that was separate from obedience or one that consisted merely of believing certain doctrinal propositions.
      Only those who have surrendered their lives to Him and continue to do His will throughout their lives on earth will inherit eternal life.
      …6 God “will repay each one according to his DEEDS.” 7 To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give ETERNAL LIFE

    Question: "Can a Christian lose salvation?"
    Answer: First, the term Christian must be defined. A “Christian” is not a person who has said a prayer or walked down an aisle or been raised in a Christian family. While each of these things can be a part of the Christian experience, they are not what makes a Christian. A Christian is a person who has fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and therefore possesses the Holy Spirit (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9).
    So, with this definition in mind, can a Christian lose salvation? It’s a crucially important question. Perhaps the best way to answer it is to examine what the Bible says occurs at salvation and to study what losing salvation would entail:
    A Christian is a new creation. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). A Christian is not simply an “improved” version of a person; a Christian is an entirely new creature. He is “in Christ.” For a Christian to lose salvation, the new creation would have to be destroyed.
    A Christian is redeemed. “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:18-19). The word redeemed refers to a purchase being made, a price being paid. We were purchased at the cost of Christ’s death. For a Christian to lose salvation, God Himself would have to revoke His purchase of the individual for whom He paid with the precious blood of Christ.
    A Christian is justified. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). To justify is to declare righteous. All those who receive Jesus as Savior are “declared righteous” by God. For a Christian to lose salvation, God would have to go back on His Word and “un-declare” what He had previously declared. Those absolved of guilt would have to be tried again and found guilty. God would have to reverse the sentence handed down from the divine bench.
    A Christian is promised eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Eternal life is the promise of spending forever in heaven with God. God promises, “Believe and you will have eternal life.” For a Christian to lose salvation, eternal life would have to be redefined. The Christian is promised to live forever. Does eternal not mean “eternal”?
    A Christian is marked by God and sealed by the Spirit. “You also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14). At the moment of faith, the new Christian is marked and sealed with the Spirit, who was promised to act as a deposit to guarantee the heavenly inheritance. The end result is that God’s glory is praised. For a Christian to lose salvation, God would have to erase the mark, withdraw the Spirit, cancel the deposit, break His promise, revoke the guarantee, keep the inheritance, forego the praise, and lessen His glory.
    A Christian is guaranteed glorification. “Those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified” (Romans 8:30). According to Romans 5:1, justification is ours at the moment of faith. According to Romans 8:30, glorification comes with justification. All those whom God justifies are promised to be glorified. This promise will be fulfilled when Christians receive their perfect resurrection bodies in heaven. If a Christian can lose salvation, then Romans 8:30 is in error, because God could not guarantee glorification for all those whom He predestines, calls, and justifies.
    A Christian cannot lose salvation. Most, if not all, of what the Bible says happens to us when we receive Christ would be invalidated if salvation could be lost. Salvation is the gift of God, and God’s gifts are “irrevocable” (Romans 11:29). A Christian cannot be un-newly created. The redeemed cannot be unpurchased. Eternal life cannot be temporary. God cannot renege on His Word. Scripture says that God cannot lie (Titus 1:2).
    Two common objections to the belief that a Christian cannot lose salvation concern these experiential issues: 1) What about Christians who live in a sinful, unrepentant lifestyle? 2) What about Christians who reject the faith and deny Christ? The problem with these objections is the assumption that everyone who calls himself a “Christian” has actually been born again. The Bible declares that a true Christian will not live a state of continual, unrepentant sin (1 John 3:6). The Bible also says that anyone who departs the faith is demonstrating that he was never truly a Christian (1 John 2:19). He may have been religious, he may have put on a good show, but he was never born again by the power of God. “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16). The redeemed of God belong “to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God” (Romans 7:4).
    Nothing can separate a child of God from the Father’s love (Romans 8:38-39). Nothing can remove a Christian from God’s hand (John 10:28-29). God guarantees eternal life and maintains the salvation He has given us. The Good Shepherd searches for the lost sheep, and, “when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home” (Luke 15:5-6). The lamb is found, and the Shepherd gladly bears the burden; our Lord takes full responsibility for bringing the lost one safely home.
    Jude 24-25 further emphasizes the goodness and faithfulness of our Savior: “To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy-to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

    A person can loose their salvation, by their will rejecting Christ. For by your will you accept Christ and by your will reject Christ, it's all about the will
    God never takes back His gift of salvation. It's like a family member, who doesn't want see or be a part of the family forever. You love that family member, and he or she will always be apart of the family, but you can't force them to be will the family if they don't want to.

      1. Not necessarily, no. Everyone's name is in the book of life from the foundation of the world.
      2. Yes
      3. No
      4. Revelation not Revelations.
      Rev. 22:18-19. You really think a saved person would mess with God's word? See you are starting with a false notion that you can lose your salvation and now you don't understand the book of life at all. It would be an unsaved person turning reprobate in those verses.
      Ex: Joseph Smith.
      Again, with the imprecatory prayers by David in Psalm 69. He is praying against his enemies and praying for their death. They aren't saved, it's evident by the context. If his enemies are killed, their names are then taken out of the book of life, unless they were reprobate. So if David is asking for his enemies to be taken out of the book of life, does that mean you think they were saved in the first place?
      With Rev 3:5 are you implying that salvation is based on works?
      And where in the Bible does it mention anyone's name being added to the book of life?
      Have you ever lost your salvation before? If so, how did you earn it back?
      What must you do to go to heaven anyway?

      Scourging was designed to force a confession out of someone, to get an admission of guilt throughthe intense pain of ripping your body to pieces. They tell you in advance that you're going to get 39 lashes and it can stop whenever you confess. THAT'S the affliction. And while he was scourged he said and confessed nothing because he was guilty of nothing.
      You should read the old testament closer.

    AHHHH this video parallels my faith journey far too closely!!!! I held off being fully baptized for so long because I thought it would be blasphemy to get baptized again! I was sprinkle baptized at 13 because my mother told me to, despite me wanting to get baptized myself before she told me I had to. I was baptized, but because I wasn't all in; I didn't understand the fullness of what I was "buying into" for a lack of words. My heart's soil, my soul's soil was SO shallow!!!! Ridiculously so!!! I THOUGHT I was saved, but kept sinning! Kept indulging in things I should not have! And I wasn't truly sorry for it!!
    But this last summer, July 9th 2021, I rededicated my life to Christ and got fully submerged in baptismal waters. I didn't understand everything there is to know about the Bible and about Life, and I still don't, but I knew and know God does. I dedided to begin truly run blindly towards Him, knowing that even though I don't really know what to do in life, God does. He made me, and then saved me, which means He wants me, and loves me. And loves me so much He was willing to live as a man and be tortured to death so that all of mankind could be saved. And I want Him back!! I want to show Him back as much love as my human heart and body is capable of! And now I feel horrible guilt when I sin. I cry sometimes when I sin. It's something I can't completely avoid as a human, but I always end up back at the feet of God crying for forgiveness and telling Him how much I hate these habits that want to come back. Living a life for Christ really does mean working it out. It's a two way relationship, and you have to let God have the lead in it. It's a journey, a process, something that takes progress and effort and strength, and so much more. So much that we don't have, that God supplies for us.

      Great testimony, but Baptism did not save you; it was your sincere repentance from sin, and trust in Jesus death and resurrection for your salvation. Baptism is a later event that a person experiences after they believe and are saved. Baptism is an outward sign of what has already happened on the inside as we are Born Again by the Spirit of God. Baptism is a statement we are making that we are publicly proclaiming we no longer belong to this world and sin, but are now dead to our old life. Coming out of the water, we are entering a new life, a new commitment to live a life worthy of Jesus great sacrifice for us. Blessings!

    Those who believe they can lose their salvation are confused about what salvation is. There is a falling away from one's profession of faith and there is a saving faith which perseveres to the end because God preserves His saints who are faithful (Psalm 31:23) If God preserves His saints (and He does) then who can snatch them out of His hand? Hebrews 6:1-2 says:
      1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
      2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
      Notice that it says "not laying again a foundation" in verse 1. This has the idea of permanence. When you build a house, you lay a foundation. You don't come back later and lay the foundation again. Clearly this means that we only need to repent of our sins and believe the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) once in regards to our salvation.
      Hebrews 6:4-5 says:
      4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
      5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
      This portion of scripture is being addresed to born again believers in Jesus Christ. In verse 4 it states that these believers have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit.
      Ephesians 4:30 says:
      And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
      This verse makes it clear that a believer can grieve the Holy Spirit by sinning, and yet still be sealed for the day of redemption (see Ephesians 1:13-14).
      Hebrews 6:6 says:
      If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
      This verse states that for those who have fallen away (living under the power and control of the flesh - Galatians 5:17, 5:19-21), that it is impossible (see vs 4) to renew them again unto repentance. That is because our repentance is foundational and can NEVER be laid down again.

      “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" -Jesus
      "You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved." -Jesus
      "I am the vine; you are the branches .... If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned …. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love
      " -Jesus

      ’e-ḇen the first one they rely on their works instead of Jesus they say have WE not prophesied in your name, instead of trusting in Jesus they rely on their work and Jesus says they practice lawlessness which is not a trait of someone who is saved, these verses aren’t about someone losing salvation it’s proof they were never saved to begin with when you are truly saved you will do many works, “faith without works is dead” means that they weren’t believers and they did works to save themselves when this does not work you have to only rely on Jesus that’s it, after that you will begin to make fruit and works, make sense?

SEALED until the day of redemption ephesians 4:30. If a verse looks like it is talking about losing salvation you need to study the context. Salvation is a FREE GIFT romans 5:15-16. This guy adds to the Gospel! Once a person is saved, they are always saved. He mixes discipleship, service and everything else into the simplicity of the Gospel. The only evidence for salvation is who the person is trusting in. If they trust that Jesus has saved them when he died for their sins, was buried, & rose again the third day, then they are saved & should know that they have eternal life, which cannot be lost. Those that believe that they have to do anything at all, to remain saved, do something to get saved besides believing, and think that they could lose salvation are not saved.
    Ephesians 1:13-14 “13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
    14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

    In my opinion, it’s dangerous to teach that you can lose your salvation. Once you’re truly saved, you are sealed. That probably sounds cliche, but, if it’s true, then, it’s true. As someone who used to worry that I would lose my salvation for putting my left shoe on my right foot, so to speak, I can vouch for the unnecessary anxiety that teaching a doctrine like this can give a person. I actually would get physically sick( it’s a bit more personal and gross than that, so, I’m not gonna go into details, but you get the point ) because it was all that I could think about. I was driving myself crazy.
    Why would a loving God want us to question our salvation if He’d gone to such a length to ensure it? It’s like, to put it simply and not give it justice, the whole premise of Finding Nemo where Marlin is working so hard to find Nemo. No matter what happens in the future, ‘ Nemo ‘ knows that his dad loves him because he spent so much time, trying to find him. I know that I just completely butchered that, but my point is: When Jesus said that it was finished, He meant it. There was no ‘ it’s finished until they do this or that ‘. Any sin is reason enough to keep us away from God-we are kept away from God until we obtain salvation. Therefore, if we’re saved, and we go off in a moment of anger or do something else like that, isn’t that enough grounds for losing our salvation? If that were the case, then, I’m pretty sure none of us would be able to proclaim that we’re saved by grace because we wouldn’t be anymore.
    No, you can’t just say the prayer and move on with a sinful life. But teaching that you can lose your salvation altogether sounds pretty legalistic and even nightmarish to me. Salvation is freely given to those who choose to accept it. The Holy Spirit will guide you; what follows is up to you.

      Yes, I know the teaching is not palatable, but it is true. You can be disqualified from the prize by your sinful conduct. A born again person can "die" again if they walk in the flesh. Paul makes this clear.

    Whenever this question pops up, even in my own life, I like to keep it simple. Simplicity is the key to peace in everything with God because notice how every man and woman on this thread is complicating the issue with this and that all while quoting Scripture? It comes down to this simple understanding and then leave it there. Ask yourself, Which one of the thieves am I hanging next to Christ on the Cross?
    Every time something or someone tried to put some doubt or place an extra little thing to do in my path, no matter how much Scripture they quoted or reading that sounded whole, I just remembered which thief I am hanging on the Cross next to Jesus.
    I thank my God for His simple, beautiful, and unfettered love for me. I pray you let him love you this way too.

      People here are arguing about whether or not you lose your salvation. Here’s my answer with common sense.
      Once you are in the hands of God he will never leave your side. Once you are on fire for God, and believe that Jesus died for your sins, you love him, understand that you’re a sinner and realize that none of us are perfect, then God will let us have everlasting life.
      John 3:16 - For God so loved the world (he loves every single person) that he gave his only begotten son (Jesus) so that whoever believes in him (us christians) will not perish but will have everlasting life. (In heaven with God/Jesus forever) That verse alone proves that if we are saved, we simply cannot be stripped away due to our actions. If that is the case then everyone of us are going to hell because sin is inevitable and there’s no way anyone and I mean ANYONE can avoid sin.
      Therefore with that being said if christians believe that you can lose your salvation that’s straight from hell and it’s the devil trying to confuse you. God won’t ever leave your side and he loves you with all of his heart.
      Everyone sins and falls short of the glory of God which means that in that verse alone, Paul is saying that everyone sins, everyone will sin, and everyone will continue to sin, which means that if you are saying that christians can lose our salvation, then being a Christian is pointless and everyone will go to hell. But that’s not the case at all.
      Much love and God bless I hope this made sense

Matthew 7:21 - 22, Jesus himself said there would be many, and they even refer to Him as Lord. you false teaching is from Satan and will help no one. should not!

      Ephesians 2:8-9
      For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      Matthew 7:21-23
      “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Notice how God only mentions their works....but not their faith. This is an example of those who believe you can lose your Salvation if you don't do enough works or don't obey enough. These people obviously did works in the name of Jesus so they "believed" in Him partly which isn't really believing, but they didn't believe 100%. Jesus only knows those who truly believe in what He did on the cross).
      Acts 15:7-15
      And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” ...
      Romans 10:9
      Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
      Acts 16:30-33
      Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.
      John 3:16-18
      “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
      Galatians 2:21
      I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
      Romans 6:14
      For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
      Romans 10:9-10
      Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
      John 5:24
      Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
      John 6:37
      All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
      Ephesians 1:13
      In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit
      Romans 10:13
      For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
      2 Timothy 1:9
      Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began
      Romans 8:38-39
      For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
      1 Peter 1:8-9
      Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
      Acts 13:48
      And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
      John 10:28
      I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
      Isaiah 64:6
      We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
      ~~~~~
      I can keep going....Like Isaiah said, our righteous deeds our like filthy rags. How can they save us then after we are already born again and sealed with the Holy Spirit. They can't. Obeying the Law does not save you, its calling out to Jesus and believing in your heart that He is Lord and Savior, and died for our sins and rose on the third day, giving us eternal security if we believe. Let God be true and every man a liar....If you claim that you can lose your eternal security, you are calling Paul, and God Himself a liar.
      Like Peter said, demanding that we remain "sinless" by practicing works and repenting after every single sinful thought and actions is a burden that is impossible to bear. Only Jesus is sinless. We will always be unaware of a sin we did, we will always fall short every single second of the day. It's impossible to keep up. Do we give up and just not try to keep a good relationship with God? Of course not!! But we do NOT lose our salvation even if someone unfortunately does. Because we are not saved by our own merit, therefore we cannot boast about how much we pray or repent or read the bible for our salvation. Salvation is a free gift from God, and I hate when people say you can throw that gift away....no you can't! That gift is TATTOOED into our souls. It's permanent. It's ingrained in us now as much as the Holy Spirit is...since the Holy Spirit is the one who is sealing us.
      Let's say I had a porn problem and even with the help of the Holy Spirit I still fell short and gave into sin once in a long while...if the rapture happens right when I'm falling short and watching porn, even though Jesus knows I believe and will ask for forgiveness (not to be saved, but because I love God), will I still go to hell because the rapture happened to occur when I was making a mistake I hardly make anymore? NOOOOOO. Absolutely NOT. The devil will make you believe that one sin will throw you into hell after you're saved, and soon you will give up because you will realize your flesh will always remain sinful and you will always fall short. When you believe that your own works won't save you, then you will truly believe in the what Jesus did on the cross and God's grace will not be a burden on you...In Matthew 11:28 Jesus says his yoke is easy and his burden is light....if you have the burden of believing that you will go to hell every time you sin and forget to ask for forgiveness, then that is not a light and easy burden. It is definitely hard to live for Christ when you believe that you are saved by your own righteousness, when it says in Isaiah even your best deeds are filthy rags.The bible says nothing in earth or heaven which includes US, can separate us from the Love of Jesus once we are saved. NOTHING, not even YOU.
      I used to believe in Lordship Salvation and guess what...I sinned more back then, I took it less seriously. When you are so invested in the Law, you notice you tend to break it more. But when I rest in the Grace of Jesus and know that I can never be plucked out of His hand...I do not fall into sin as much and I trust Him SO MUCH MORE. I am led by His grace and not by own effort anymore. I am done trying to be good enough because that is something I can't accomplish. Jesus' righteousness is mine. My righteousness is filthy and it can't save me any more than doing 100 hundred push ups a day and eating only fruits and veggies can stop me from dying one day.
      REPENT (which is a change of mind that only happens once because we believe and receive the Holy Spirit, even God repented in the bible), and believe in the TRUE gospel of GRACE through FAITH alone in CHRIST alone. Lordship Salvation is a doctrine of demons meant to burden a Christian.
    Let me add something, a very HUGE slice of typology from Matthew: The verse about the "Ten Virgins." The word "virgin here, refers to those who had been "cleansed," as it were--of their sins; well, guess what--about HALF of them failed to "keep their LAMPS lit." I think you KNOW what that means! They had no more "oil," (Spirit). In other words, they LOST the anointing (in God's word) that they once HAD. They went out looking for some, but, it was TOO late! Add to THAT the warning, in the book of Revelation of a "Great falling away." Honestly people, I understand your concerns, and your perceptions on how you think GOD should think--but keep in mind--not only does He not FORCE us to come unto Him, He does not FORCE us to STAY in Him That is NOT God's way. For love to be of any TRUE, lasting value, it not only must be a decision of the heart--it must be KEPT! Think about that. There is an element inherent in the OSAS doctrine that is potentially dangerous, and that IS, it leaves us to think that no matter how much trouble (sin) we have in our lives--God has it COVERED! Well, yes--and no! If we are TRULY repentive and are doing our level BEST to pray for STRENGTH in these areas, then YES--it IS covered--but if a person begins to take that sin, or weakness for granted (perhaps you attend a church that is a bit "watered-down), there can begin a process where you are no longer making a conscientious effort to STOP that habitual problem--it HAPPENS--mark my word! So, be sober-minded, and do not give the devil/s too much "rope." Pray and be blessed! Amen.
      Lukewarm Christians will be shut out of the kingdom of heaven. Those who PRACTISE unrepentant sin no longer have the blood covering it as you once delivered return to your old sinful nature you are better off you did not taste the freedom in Christ. I know there is Grace but all Jesus parables speak of lost son returning. But no one thinks if he never repents he is dead. No one preaches the whole council of God. A true believer will have spirit and power to break any sin so you do not PRACTISE sin repent sin repent...... Look at the 5 wise foolish vergins. Look at the wheat and tares. The parable of talents. The revelation church letters. The ones who Jesus says I do not know you. Then after he says that he adds those who PRACTISE LAWLESSNESS. LAWLESSNESS is sin. Look at the ones that are left outside the kingdom.
      What about Jesus is coming back for a church without spot and wrinkle. Scripture says the spirit will keep you from sin. Noticed Jesus washed apostles feet. Peter said not so and Jesus said then you have no part in me. Jesus knew our feet would get dirty with random sin. When I read parables it about a hard sins. The ones you keep repeating. Even when Jesus healed he sternly warned to not sin. I still sin today but I do not PRACTISE a bound sin. Personally it's a heart issue. I do not and repeat am not your master. I have a master and it's Jesus. I cannot be God and say some other servant is saved or not. God knows your secret things so you can fool people but got sees the inside. God wants to clean inside and then outside will be clean. God convicted me without anyone preaching. I was in porn sin and the scripture says if you die with this you will be cast into lake of fire. Adultery, fornicatiors, unbelievers, fearful, liers, criminals, drug users, smokers, alcoholics, rapist, murders and the sorcerer. Those that practice these things will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. Repent and love God with all your mind heart and BODY and love your neighbor as yourself. God gives you this love to obey him. Otherwise why would we need Jesus when we could work it out ourselves. The difference between old covenant is they sinned and had to sacrifice animals for atonement. But they did not have the power of holy spirit to be born again. The new covenant you now can be born again. Free from shackles of sin. Free from the porn,free from drugs,free from unfogiveness, free from bitterness, free from stealing and on and on. You get the fruit of the spirit . one fruit is self control! So only you know your heart. Do you live a secret life? Are you lukewarm? Do you obey Jesus teachings on the sermon on the mount? If not then you are in danger of the lake of fire. Work out your salvation with fear and TREMBLING. The fear of the serverness of God fell on me and got me to repent. God is a consuming fire. Make no mistake God's coming back to judge the wicked. Come out of the pigpen and return to the sheepfold. Do not remain in your sins that will lead to death. Put off the old man and walk in spirit so you do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Remember those that do God's will are his mother's, brothers, sisters. Those that do not follow Jesus teaching are already dead. Guard your heart ad there are many false teaching out here. Works and obedience are seperate things. Our good deeds are filthy rags to God. King Saul disobeyed God and Samuel prophet told his disobedience is as witchcraft! God wants you to obey him. God also has mercy over sacrifice. God gives grace to humble but resists the proud. Makes you wonder when those who don't get in prophsied in his name , cast out demons in his name and did many wonderful things in his name and heard I do not know you. Read the next line........you who PRACTISE LAWLESSNESS. You can live it up and risk lake of fire or walk narrow path. I will end with this. He who yeilds to flesh brings death. He who yeilds to spirit has external life.
      Zain Jones All of the verses in the New Testament that refers to obedience is talking about the obedience of believing and trusting in the true gospel of faith alone. That is the obedience that is required for salvation. If you believe anything else besides that you are not being obedient. So yes faith and obedience are tied together because if you have true faith you are being obedient to Jesus. Plus we are not saved by submitting our wills to him simply because submitting your will to him is impossible. The only way to submit your will to Jesus or to serve him in a way that we’ll grant you eternal life if to do that to absolute perfection. Which no one can. So if you have sinned ever then you have not submitted your well to Jesus. Also Jesus is Lord whether you claim him as your Lord or not. He doesn’t need you to grant him as your Lord. He already is simply because he is God.
      No believer on the Earth now posses Eternal life in the actual sense. When a person gets "born again" they receive ET as a promise to be cashed in, as it were, when you die. EL is not time-life into never ending time. We don't know what it is so many people apply our limited understanding of never ending time. But it is not never ending time.
      Thus, a person can "lose" ET if they are disobedient in their lives on the Earth. And by disobedience, I mean living a sinful life here on the Earth. How much sin? I don't know, but God knows. God knows the difference between mistakes from time to time and wilfull disobedient life style. For example: Maybe one day I'm hanging out with friends, I let me guard down, had a few drinks and got drunk. Compare that to a person who gets hammered all the time. There is a difference. That's not to say that the 1st case isn't bad, but it's not the same as the latter.
      @@Species-rj9si thanks i know that Spirit upon us is for the service till today ( expérience of Pentecostal or baptism with the Spirit and fire of Christ after the new birth luke 24 verse 49)
      So are you received the Spirit upon you on order to be a servant doing the works of the Lord? Obviously not regarding your wrong understanding of the Word of God
      Now just take a look at this parable especially here :
      Luke 19
      20 “Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.21 I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’
      22 “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, *you wicked servant* ! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? 23 Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
      24 “Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
      25 “‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
      26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.27 *But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them-bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”*
      The wicked servant is not saved
      Matthew 25
      26His lord answered and said unto him, Thouwicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and thenat my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
      29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 *And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.*
      Matthew 24 v
      45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 *The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teet*
      Luke 13
      He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
      “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
      26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
      27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
      28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”
    Yes, yes you can. " For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit, who tasted God’s good word and the powers of the coming age, and who have fallen away. This is because, to their own harm, they are re-crucifying the Son of God and holding him up to contempt."
    Hebrews 6:4-6
    Those that were covered by the blood in the Passover were saved. It didn't matter if they were murderers, rapists, pedophiles, thieves, or any matter of lawlessness. All they had to do was believe enough in the blood to "save" them from the wrath that was coming. But just because they partook in the gift of salvation from the wrath that came did not mean they continued on into the promised land. Most of them committed idolatry in the wilderness, even though they had seen heavenly gifts and shared in the Holy Spirit. No one can take your salvation but you can walk away from it. Once saved always saved is a dangerous doctrine and is used by many to continue in sin. And that whole "maybe they where not saved in the first place" is a lie as well. Just read again the above verse. The bible uses the word "IF" a lot. "If" we continue in God's laws, "if" we endure to the end, then we will make into the promised land, that is, eternity.
    Im here struggling. I met my first love at a bible camp, we dated for almost 2 years and grew strong in Christ together. His parents have been missionaries his whole life so he knew how to be saved and lived a strong christian life.. until we broke up. He got in with some very dark things in this world and Satan took over his life so bad that a few days ago he took his own life. I care for him very deeply but could not associate myself with him anymore due to the choices he was making and I just feel awful. I want to feel secure that he is in heaven and that he did not lose his salvation.. I pray that he just veered off the wrong path and God still saved him because for the majority of his life he has been saved.
    Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. All, not some, but all. Romans 3:10 There is none righteous, no not one. So, we are all unrighteous ungodly sinners in Gods eyes.
    Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. If salvation was not a free gift, no one could be saved. Sinners can not save themselves.
    John 3:18 Believers are not condemned, but unbelievers are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God.
    First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE "TEMPORARY"LIFE. NO, IT IS ETERNAL LIFE. You can not lose eternal life. And since it is a free gift from God, we have nothing to boast in. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. IT is free.
      Eternal life is in the Son:
      …11 And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is IN HIS SON.
      (1 John 5:11)
      Only those who remain in the Vine share the life with Him
      5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you DO NOT REMAIN in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and WITHERS; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
      (John 15:5-6)
      Branches bear fruit because they are conduits of the vine's life. Verse 6 says that it is POSSIBLE for someone who has been organically joined to Christ to not stay there but to become disconnected. When that happens Jesus said that the branch WITHERS, that is, it slowly dies. When all the activity of life has ceased it is taken outside the vineyard and incinerated.
      Except when you give it up through your own free will. Note what Paul wrote TO THE CHURCH in Rome (in other words those who were saved) in Romans 11:
      So do not become proud, but fear. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. 22Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off
      It's an unavoidable conclusion. Those who believe and are grafted into the tree of life can be cut off.
      Good point, Ray and the conjunction IF shows that we have the choice of continuing or discontinuing in a committed relationship with Him. In the same way, even though I am committed to my wife in the bonds of matrimonial covenant I, nevertheless, I must choose to continue in that relationship. Our relationship is not unconditional. I can choose to break it at any time by committing adultery. If I were to pursue that course of action I would not be able to remain in my marriage covenant with her. It seems that some people in "hypergrace" antinomianism want an OPEN marriage with Jesus as if God had changed His mind about allowing us to have "other gods before Him"
    “Once Saved always Saved?”
    “Calvinists, who deny that salvation can ever be lost, reason on the subject in a marvelous way...
    They tell us, that somehow....
    No virgin’s lamp can go out...(Matthew 25:8)
    No promising harvest can be choked with thorns...(Matthew 13:7)
    No branch in Christ can ever be cut off for unfruitfulness...(John 15:6)
    No pardon can ever be forfeited...
    (Matthew 18:32)
    They say that no name can be blotted out of God’s book!
    (Revelation 3:5; Exodus 32:33)
    They insist that no salt can ever lose its savour...
    (Matthew 5:13)
    That nobody can ever...
    “receive the grace of God in vain”... (2 Corinthians 6:1)
    “bury his talents”...(Matthew 25:18)
    “neglect such great salvation”... (Hebrews 2:3)
    trifle away “a day of grace”... (James 5:5)
    “look back” after putting his hand to the gospel plow...
    (Luke 9:62)
    Nobody can “grieve the Spirit” till He is “quenched,”... (Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 5:19) and strives no more, (Romans 11:21,22)
    nor “deny the Lord that bought them”...
    (2 Peter 2:1)
    nor “bring upon themselves swift destruction.”.. (2 Peter 2:1)
    Nobody, or body of believers, can ever get so lukewarm that Jesus will spew them out of His mouth... (Revelation 3:16)
    They use reams of paper to argue that if one ever got lost he was never found. (John 17:12)
    that if one falls, he never stood. (Romans 11:16-22 and Hebrews 6:4-6)
    if one was ever “cast forth,” he was never in, and “if one ever withered,” he was never attached to the vine and once green. (John 15:1-6)
    and that “if any man draws back,” it proves that he never had anything to draw back from. (Hebrews 10:38,39)
    that if one ever “falls away into spiritual darkness,” he was never enlightened. (Hebrews 6:4-6)
    that if you “again get entangled in the pollutions of the world,” it shows that you never escaped. (2 Peter 2:20)
    that if you “put salvation away” you never had it to put away, (Hebrews 10:35; Psalms 51:11)
    and if you make shipwreck of faith, there was no ship of faith there!! (1 Timothy 1:19)
    In short they say: If you get it, you can’t lose it; and if you lose it you never had it.
    May God SAVE US...
    from accepting a doctrine, that must be defended by such fallacious reasoning!”
They couldn’t read scripture and Christian communities were hard to find at times. So were they saved? Yes. They were reborn at that INSTANT and began a walk with God. You can’t be re-unborn.       Lstknt no he did not died in vain. We believe and accept Jesus but there's gotta be repentance in our lives. We come to Christ as we are but we don't stay as we are. We are not perfect but we gotta try to live a holy life, Jesus knows that we are not going be as pure as he is but he will see that you are trying to live a holy life.
      People who believe in the OSAS doctrine are just kidding themselves.
      Would you tell me that a homosexual who believed in his heart yet continue his Sodom n Gomorrah lifestyle inherit the kingdom of heaven?
      Or what about that man who accepted Jesus in his heart yet he continues to abuse and hit his wife and kids at home, will he go to heaven?
      Or what about the man who continuously cheats on his wife? Will he go to heaven just because he at the moment believes in Jesus?
      People only chooses to see one part of the word of God but discards the parts they don't like. We cannot pick and choose. Christianity is not to discourage anyone. If you love Jesus you will take up your cross and follow him. Period.
      We don't feel obligated to change our lives for him. He transforms us from the inside out. The things that we loved more than God in this world no longer we desired.
      OSAS was invented by people who desired the things of this Earth more than Jesus so this doctrine gave them a way to be free of doing whatever they wanted. A freedom ticket to their fleshly pleasures.
      If you don't believe this then try opening your heart to the possibility that it might be true, do a one day or three day fasting for God to show you this.he will if you desire to know with all your heart.
      I say this to you in love.
      If you need help in prayer, I'm here too.
      God doesn't want anybody to be confused and no one should be willing to bet their eternal life on the beliefs they have right now.
      Trust me brothers and sisters, even when I thought I was right I still needed confirmation that I was believing the truth and that I was living in it so I seek God for myself with a true desired to know and he was so wonderful and merciful that he showed me.
      Seek and you will find, ask and he will give you the answer.
      God bless you.
Honestly I find that people who find themselves desiring God out of nowhere while watching TH-cam... who out of nowhere get verses stuck in their heads and follow up on it...who in their hearts seek God during times of trouble and also with likewise joy thank Him during the good... who are concerned about their salvation but yet are nicean in their belief and want to please God... those people are saved. Sin is sin and Christ’s end of the deal was to save us from past present and future sins.
      Satan wants us to doubt our salvation and even without satan doubt is part of faith. Otherwise it’s knowledge.
The bible is the truth, jesus christ is God made flesh and he conquered death. So that all who believe on him should not perish but have everlasting life. Everyone will be granted everlasting life when the second coming happens every knee shall bow tongue confess jesus christ is lord. That is everyone who isn't already in heaven because the ones in heaven have already believed without seeing. One of the lies Satan has been spewing is that God will not torment his creation. Jesus already said he takes no pleasure in the sinners death but it is neccessary. God's righteousness will endure for eternity.
      1. Jesus died for us on the cross and took the payed the price for the entire world's sins. It doesn't mean we can't separate ourselves from him. He is the vine, we are the branches.
      Why would Paul train his evil tendencies so as to "NOT BE DISQUALIFIED" Doesn't sound like salvation is assured. It sounds like we have to do something, repent and not commit what are referred to as deadly sins and turning away before we die.
    • @MattTheMNMGamer
      @MattTheMNMGamer 6 ปีที่แล้ว
      I believe when Paul said that, he was referring to his rewards. And B Boe is right, you have positional salvation, potential/experiential salvation, and then your perfect salvation. When you believe you get your position in Christ, so you are saved from the PENALTY OF SIN. Then from the point of belief until death, as a Christian you have to try and repent from sin, to go down the correct path, which is the Experiential Salvation where you are saved from THE POWER OF SIN (unless you don't follow the ways that have been set out). But you don't do this to earn the positional salvation which you got when you believed, you do it firstly to live a life as close to one that God/Christ want for us, and also, for your rewards in heaven, I don't know if you know a lot of the rewards after the rapture, but look them up if you don't. Would Paul want to miss out on receiving the crowns which we can get based on the works we do? Or when our works get tested (1 Cor 3:13) Would Paul want to see his works get burnt up? No he would want to see his works stand through the fire. So then you come to your Perceptional Salvation, now you are saved from THE PRESENCE OF SIN eternally. You get your rewards/position of rule in the Millennial Kingdom. You get your perfect fellowship with the Trinitiy. You get your complete understanding of Jesus Christ, who and what he is. And a whole lot more.
      To say that we have to keep our works on track to be saved is completely against the gospel message, we trust that our Lord lived his perfect life, that he truly was God on Earth, that he died on the cross, that he was resurrected, that his sacrifice was more than enough to clear our payments for sin, and that when we believe in him, he promises to take us on the rapture, no matter what we do, because you can't go backwards from your position in Christ. Our positional salvation is a beautiful gracious free gift, that we can do nothing to deserve, and nowhere in the books of the bible for today, does it say that our loving Father will remove us from the body once we are in it.
      THEMNMGAMER
      I have not read a scripture that tells believers if they fall into a perpetual life-habit of sin (and do not repent) or if they commit apostasy and deny Christ then their lives will merely be shortened. The NT does say some people's lives were shortened because of their abuse of the Lord's supper. The scripture you cited says this:
      5 hand this man [who was an immoral believer] over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, SO THAT his spirit MIGHT BE SAVED on the day of the Lord (1 Corinthians 5:5).
      The question that comes to my mind in reading this verse is how Paul does not use the many simpler, clearer ways of saying they were praying for this man's DEATH or that Satan would KILL him. Instead, he uses the term "destruction of his flesh." The Greek word Paul uses, ("olethron") does not necessarily mean physical death. In fact, Thayer's Greek Lexicon says it means: "for the destruction of the flesh, said of the EXTERNAL ILLS and TROUBLES by which the LUSTS of the flesh are subdued and destroyed."
      An example of "handing someone to Satan" can be found in the life of Job. In his case, GOD Himself handed Job over to Satan. What happened was that destruction of all kinds rained upon him including physical illness. The desired result of this was apparently defeating Satan and gaining a testimony for posterity. Had Job "cursed God and died," as his wife suggested, Job would not have persevered and there would not have been a redemptive outcome for him.
      Next, in 1 Co. 5:5 the word translated "SO THAT" indicates that Paul had a specific purpose in mind. This aim was that the man MIGHT be saved in the Day of Judgment. The Greek verb for SAVED (sōthē) is conjugated in the SUBJUNCTIVE MOOD indicating a consequence that HAS NOT HAPPENED but has only the POTENTIAL of happening. In other words, Paul hopes that the methods employed (i.e., delivering him to Satan) will yield that result but it was by no means certain. After all, the man had a free will and may not respond to the treatment. Sometimes under duress, a person's heart can become even MORE hardened.
      There is still another point to be made in 1 Corinthians 5:5. If this man (who had apparently begun as a true believer) had been saved UNCONDITIONALLY, regardless of how he lived, then handing him over to Satan would have no effect on his "spirit being saved" in the Day of Judgment. Remember, Paul's purpose was not to protect the reputation of the Church but to affect the salvation of this man on the Last Day. How can a person's PHYSICAL DEATH accomplish this unless the trial brings about repentance and restoration?
      This whole scenario is inconsistent with the doctrine of OSAS which holds that since the man was already saved he would always be. Some go as far as to say that from the moment a person believes in Christ all his sins, past, present and FUTURE are forgiven. From then on, ALL his sins are "cast into the sea of forgetfulness" so that when God looks upon the person He sees only the (imputed) "righteousness of God." How could God possibly inspire Paul to point out this man's sin when, as far as God is concerned, his sin no longer existed? Would that not make them guilty of "judging?"
      The Corinthian Church apparently believed that grace covered them even while they were abiding in the sin of incest. No one argued that man was a pretending believer and needed to be saved. Everyone, including Paul, assumed that he was a true believer who had nevertheless fallen into a lifestyle of sin. Most of the Corinthians overlooked it because they thought all believers live eternally in God's favor (His grace) and, apparently, unconditionally. Paul did not have that view.
    Yes Romans 10:9-11. I’m a Catholic and this a great summary and if you come up on somebody with 3 mins to live.
    For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For one BELIEVES with the heart and so is justified and one confesses with his mouth and so is saved. For scripture says “No one who BELIEVES in him will be put to shame.”
    What does BELIEVES mean it’s a very loaded word. It’s different if you have 3 mins to live to 3 days to 3 months to 3 years and 3 decades to live. You MUST BELIEVE in Christ and keep his commandments and teachings.
    Gods love and grace to you all.
      let me tell you something.....the problem with that is that some will, but what's most important is that it says in the bible in 1st Corinthians I believe, that old things have passed away and behold all things become new. In other words a changed person via Jesus Christ taking out the old heart and putting in a new one called an operation made without hands. Col. 2:11
      Jesus transforms the person....and if they do things wrong it's because they are in this flesh, no man on this earth is perfect, only Jesus was perfect. And therefore if Jesus be in a believers heart then they are saved until the day of redemption Ephesians 4:30.
      Also Jesus being in a saved person...Jesus cannot deny himself and also keeps that person saved until the day of him! Philippians 1:6
      6 Being confident of this very thing, he that which hath begun a good work in you WILL perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
      A person who believes and trusts on Christ....what part of you thinking they will go around living anyway they want if Jesus is in their heart? Only God knows mans hearts.
      In the book of James many take those scriptures and say see,....their faith without works is dead. Well all that means (cause it's talking to saved people) is that they are not performing "good works" for others....and therefore that faith is dead, not for salvation. See....the book of James is for the eyes of men, but not for God, cause in order for men to see if they think someone is saved is by what they do, but for God...He knows each and every persons heart.
      So with Jesus being in a persons heart....I'm positive that they hate sin, just as God does.
      Jesus cannot deny himself, He remains faithful and you cannot take away scripture in Romans 10:9-11...cause it's truth!
      Kathy Henderson you must be one of those people like me, because you agreed to what I said. You stated we all will. In the Bible it speaks of people having their name taken out of the book of life. And these people would not have their name in the book to start with unless they were actually saved. Unless they fooled God, or He put their name in the book by mistake. And we know that won’t happen. So then we know if anyone had their name in the book of life they were saved. And God would not remove someone’s name from the book if they were still saved. So that shows people can loose their salvation.
      Hebrews 6:4 agrees with Ephesians 1:13 That when we are sealed by the Holy Spirit at the time we believe, it is impossible to fall away because Christ was once crucified once and for all for all sin. First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. Salvation is a free gift of God to everyone that believes that Jesus paid our sin debt in full.
      John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me, will come to me, and all that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but is passed from death unto life. Contending for the faith is contending that what Jesus said is true.
      It says that those who have trusted Jesus for salvation hath eternal life. If we have eternal life, how long is it? Eternal is forever. It is not temporary or probationary ,but eternal life.
      Jesus said, John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
      First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. .
      Ephesian 4:30 And grieve not the Spirit in whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption
      Every one that has the Holy Spirit in them belong to Him who saved us by grace. We are the children of God. John 1:12 But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the Children of God, even to them that believe on His name.
      Romans 8:9 Those without the Holy Spirit in them are not saved. Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
      John 3:16 For God so loved the world, (everybody) that He gave His only begotten Son, (Jesus ) that WHOSOEVER (anybody,) that believeth in Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life. Everlasting is everlasting. That means forever to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
      Totally agree with OSAS. HEB 6:1 Therefore. What is the context of Therefore? It is HEB chapters 1-5, showing Jesus is better than the law, scriptures, aka OT.
      HEB 6:1-3, is refers to believers, while 4-6 refers to unconverted hearers or persons who heard, experienced the word, saw miracles, but walked away. The rest falls in place.
      Salvation. is an event like graduation or a championship. No one ever take those away from me. How much better is my salvation?!
      Now, sanctification is a process that ends in justification when Jesus comes the second time.
      I am saved from the penalty of sin bc of Christ.
      I am being saved from the power of sin bc of Christ.
      I will be saved in the end from the presence of sin bc of Christ bc I will be in heaven with Him.
      You can certainly ruin your testimony and witness to Christ useless living, but you cannot lose your salvation. Otherwise, the Son wasted his time coming to earth, performing miracles, living a perfect life, dying on the cross, staying in the grave for 3 days, rising up, as he promised, and was seen by over 500 witnesses, according to the gospel, written by the chief sinner, the Apostle Paul.
