Hi, just wondering if a few things could be done differently, so you can have a few units to defend yourself as well as palisade walling your base in feudal. In this build order you have 7 farms before horse collar, would it be feasible to replace 4 of those farms with one mill on the deer? That should save about 140 wood. Also, I noticed you had 700 stone by the time you were in castle age. Perhaps one of those stone vills could have been used to gather wood and/or build palisade walls? Maybe having one more vill on wood rather than berries (as there are 5 on berries in this build) would allow for a barracks to be built in dark age, and archery range instead of market in feudal (so you go up with blacksmith/archery range). Then you can get some archers as soon as you've clicked castle. Thoughts? Also, would be nice to see this build optimized for the Poles. At low-enough ELO it can be nice to surprise opponents with a poles archer into crossbow opening, and use the crossbows to harass while you build your defensive castle, research schlager privileges and start pumping out knights, which of course would require an eco switch to more farms.
Hi mate, thanks for the comment. This is basically the build order from the Cicero build order mod, which is a bit out of date now. The build can certainly be tweaked but you wouldn’t get as fast an age up time I don’t think think, or the castle will be delayed a bit. Maybe play around with it and see how you can tweak it. Certainly, for none beginners, you can push the deer rather than a mill. Pallisade walls are a big investment in wood but also in time that the villager(s) would ordinarily be collecting resources which would massively hamper the age up times. As well as the extra wood spent on a mill. This build should normally be done on closed maps rather than open maps like arabia. Sounds like you’re better off doing a normal archer/scout rush and then making a castle when you hit castle age. I do have a build order for poles scouts in to 3 stable privileges knights. I am in the process of making a poles build which has a 14 minute fast castle into 1 stable knights and a castle drop into obuch at around 18 minutes. It’s a bit all-in though but i have a couple of vids demonstrating it (just not finalised the build order)
@@MorleyGames1 I tried to get into AoE2 some years ago, at the time Steppe Lancers where introduced. There’s a real satisfaction when you practice, and get everything together and you beat your opponent. However I stopped rather quickly again because Steppe Lancers were completely busted at the time. I had no answer for it as a new player. It’s balanced now, and I’m contemplating getting back into AoE2. I have a couple of questions: I play as Vikings. I’ve heard that they’re at a really good spot atm. I know they’re good at castle age, and their imp has seemingly improved. Will this build order match the Vikings or should it be tweaked? I guess fast castle into unique unit and scorpions could be a deadly deathball on close map and go for a heavy push asap. Can I practice set elements and custom scenarios in isolation? Like if I want to practice controlling my eco while doing a dark age drush, can I practice a scenario like that in isolation? Likewise can I practice unit micro, ornager control, how the unit engaging, like if I use rams and set them on patrol, they’re just gonna attack anything in the enemy base. Stuff like that It’s also hard to find specified Viking tweaked build orders. Especially updated ones. I’m currently looking at pros playthrough and try to deduct what they’re doing, when picking the civ. I know Vikings are usually considered an Archer civ, with a great UU, but the lost of thumb ring hurt their ranged capabilities. And I think I heard Hera say, that the best deathball for Vikings were UU, Scorpio’s and a few trebs, which seems fun! Would Sieges engineers be a tech to prioritize in that scenario?

Audio & Video is not in sync.
Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for letting me know. I tried to chop off the intro but youtube seems to have just chopped off the audio part and not the video
Hi guys! Let me know if this helps! Post any questions or feedback below.
Awesome, thanks a lot.
Is this still meta and does this work with Mongols into mangudai?
Yes :)
@@MorleyGames1 Ty for the help and taking time to answer :)
