I remember my Dad tuning into this series once a week on the BBC Home Service, the forerunner of Radio 4. I did listen to some or part of them before being sent to bed. The series have stood the test of time and remain cracking good stories!
Once I stumbled upon Paul Temple series, I never look back... Probably have listened 10 of his cases already... Simplicity of the language with great variation...❤ Love it
My mother would listen to the Francis Durbridge, Paul Temple cases when my father was away at sea, having found them myself I am now in love with the stories. Not too much violence, beautifully written stories with lovely twists in the plots. The original recordings have been cleaned up enough to still have a great feeling of nostalgia.
A new version of Paul Temple. I remember the original series . on the 1950s BBC Home Service. . It seems to still be set back in the 1950s , oddly enough.
Thank you for sharing this but I stop listening when adverts come in the flow of the drama. Adverts at the start and the end I fully understand but half way in a drama I dont think they belong. One reason why I stoped watching TV channels that have adverts. I fully appreciated you putting the dramas on, and many people will not mind and will be staying with your channel. I wish you all the very best in your channel and it continues to be successful.
So strange; I've heard this before many times, and yet even though the storyline is the same, the script is not 100% familiar. Never heard they'd had a baby before! It feels like a brand new Paul Temple, it's great!
It's a re-recording of the story I believe. This is just me surmising but maybe the original tape of the Peter Coke and Marjorie Westbury version was lost or destroyed so they made a new version with contemporary actors.
Aiways liked Paul Temple, since the '50's. Never tire of listening to it. But, as one other person said, NO place for adverts during the play, the start and end yes, but please not in the middle, you lose concentration, needlessly, the television has far too many on it, now we seem to be swamped with them, just a few programmes around them, not what entertainment should be!.
Much as l love these l also love picking holes in the dialogue etc. ‘secret organisation’ if secret than nobody would, know about it would they? Just saying.
I wonder...why all the people keep the secrets. Why don't they tell the secrets ...For example...."Oh Temple...I will tell it tonight. Meet me at midnight" ???? I don't understand. Being stabbed in the shoulder blade?? Being choked by smoke?? Being killed by plane crashed?? Or being killed by car accident?? At least 10 characters are murdered before the story ends

I love to think of people in the 40s or 50s sitting around a huge old radio at night waiting for the next episode after a hard day was done
I really love Peter Coke and Marjorie Westbury series.Thats just me but I love all the series.
Thank you so much for this! I love these two! Its a bit like Enid Blyton for grown ups! Keep up the good work!
By Timothy! You’ve nailed it - ‘EB’ exactly!
That’s so true !
Ah, Enid Blyton ❤
Thanks again. Temple mysteries are very entertaining. So much is always happening. What a life!😀🌹
Oh, these are heaven. I only wish I were old enough to have heard them the first time round. Thank you so much!

TH-cam premium is what you want. No ads at all!
Why not download an adblocker?

I keep seeing posts that the Temples did not have any children. They must have missed this story. Well done for spotting it!

Love listening to this at the end of the day before bed
Thanks milion❤❤❤
Great story. One of the best.
Enjoy Crowford Logans performance!!
Good story
I like the way they talk about drugs but drink an enormous amount of alcohol a legalized drug. How ironic.

Goodness knows how Sir Graham became Commissioner of Scotland Yard, he's a complete ninny
That's rather the point, as well as being a long running joke between Sir Graham and Temple.
Love the Paul Temple Stories, but the Ads are very annoying and spoil it !
Thanks for the heads up about the ads. I love listening to this in bed, but the ads disrupt the comfort....so will pass.
Love Paul n Steve
Love it, but so many ads...
Much as l love these l also love picking holes in the dialogue etc. ‘secret organisation’ if secret than nobody would, know about it would they? Just saying.
Fantastic play, but u tube spoilt it with there ads
This must be an early story, as the "son and heir" is never mentioned again.
Im determined NEVER to visit Qatar - the ad is as annoying as it is frequent
FFS gave up after 6 lots of ads in 28m 😡😡😡😡😡😡
Ads. Ads. AVOID loud intrusive ads every few minutes. No good.
Try Enhancer for TH-cam. I downloaded it free, and it has an ad blocker.
Yeah but it's forgivable seeing as it's a 3 hour long video with lots of views, it's gonna have adds...
I 'skip' the ads, they stop after being skipped a couple of times, by Timothy...😄
Who the heck is Sam Dodsworth? This is the UK.
But these were made to sell to the US.
And ‘l don’t want to be stuck with the cheque/check” it should be ‘bill’
💙💙💙💙💙
Annoying adverts

It' is entertainment . A Detective series meant to keep you excited.
Don't forget about his wife, she has been abducted far more than is healthy, I'm sure.😂😂
HA - what a smart arse with his constant "...don't you know..." comments - HA. Have a safe and nice day all. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
If they are all such good friends why do they refer to him as Temple ?
Gentlemen called each other by their surnames
Full of adds which makes it useless for listening to at bed time. Ruined it!
Yes, the ads kill it. I shall never buy anything they advertise.
You can always buy the add free from audible
Sorry but the adverts ruin the flow…Inhad to give up. Sorry
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh fed up,with the advertise ery4 minutes. Bye
Never heard of an ad blocker?
