His bias here tells me that distrust is justfied. The unjustified violence against Parker has generated shame for many Kiwis who had never heard of her. As a woman (adult human female) I categorically refuse to be shut down on issues that impact women, including via use of false epithets "neo-Nazi" (my Grandfather was Jewish heritage and died fighting Hitler), and "anti-trans". Why are so many media professionals in New Zealand hellbent on downplaying the violent nature of the crowd in Albert Park (“a mostly peaceful protest” - according to whose measuring stick exactly?), when Posey Parker tried to speak, and casting her as a malevolent persecutor of a vulnerable minority group? Why is it not permissible in the minds of so many for her to publicly express her concern about the erosion of women’s rights and try to engage in discussion with those who disagree with her point of view? Is is because they deep down realize she has a stronger argument?😮
Great representation of the argument, completely wasted in the current environment where the chilling effect has all the power to prevent discussions before they can even begin.
yep, cancel culture is alive and kicking in NZ. As a white woman I fear speaking out as in the past this has led to personal attacks on me, its also a risk professionally as I work for local govt, as expressing my opinions will lead to me being dismissed from my job, no matter how well I carry out my duties.
Nadine Strossen is such an articulate and intelligent speaker. Jack Tame came off pretty lame in comparison. Trying to play down what happened during Posie Parker's visit WHILE footage played in this interview that showed just how violent the event was around Posie Parker is beyond ridiculous. Did Jack watch the footage? And contrary to what he thinks, there are many, many people who agree that women's rights are being supplanted now by the trans movement and do not agree with trans women competing in our sports in the women's category. I am totally fine with adults transitioning if that is what they want and how they identify, but I do not agree that all women must pretend that if you were born with a penis, you can still be a woman the exact same way that an Adult Human Female can and that any and all terminology that says "woman" or "women" must be cancelled in order to pacify the trans community.
Jack Tame you are wrong. 1st the TRA protests were violent not peaceful. Everyone can ser this from the live stream. You are also wrong about Kellie-Jay's influence. The violent protest and the mendicious reporting has amplified Kellie Jay's message both here and ovrtseas. You live in a bubble Jack Tame and do not serm tobe aware of what ordinary NZers think.
Jack doesn’t come across as very clued up on free speech hopefully he took some points on board that prof Nadine made. Posie Parker may have not got to speak but many more people probably researched who she is (and realised she is not what the media made out she was) and are acutely aware of the issues NZ is facing with freedom of speech.
Jack Tane you sure like to preach the party line! The Albert Park event was never peaceful, but I guess when your income depends on repeating our politicians narrative then you just spout lies along with Labour. Ms Strossan can teach you a thing or two on free speech and honesty if you cared to listen just once in your life
Okay, so Jack changed and dropped the anti-trans and only called her an activist. Well done, unfortunately. The description of the video and the write-up wrongly depicts her as anti-trans.
Defamation and perjury should not be tolerated but to silence people because you don't like what they are saying is disgusting. You have the right to be offended, put on your big boy/girl pants and get over it.
I think I big issue is that one side always ends up feeling like they will not be able to have their say and that the wording maybe hurtful to some and they will not be allowed to say that that is hurtful. I think events like this would work better if it was more of a discussion or if people could have a q and a time at the end or knew they could have a moment to reply to the comments.
Compared with Nadine Strossen, Jack Tame is a mental dwarf. Actually, compared with a mental dwarf Jack comes off second best. To describe the Albert Park violence as largely peaceful would play well on CNN.
The only people who belong to racial categories are those who ascribe themselves to such. The truly scary thing is that some still define themselves & others by concepts of race in C21 that have no basis in science; & wish to silence those who challenge these divisive views. That includes the NZ human rights commission. Exactly why freespeech is so important .. to enable scientists for eg . to educate the public they have no race, that no one is or has ever been white or black and people aren't actually different colours. Some actually believe speaking to this truth is racist. #freespeech
Yes, it was good of him to continue the lie, give his opinion, then make a little joke. What a guy, hopefully no man in a dress punches his mum in the face for having a different opinion
Hes continuing a false narrative..listen to the Platform and the 3 hours of phonecalls of women who were physically attacked , verbally abused and traumatized by the " peaceful protesters" .
Sorry, but we do have free speech in this country. We can freely express opinions. However where the speech is inciting violence or direct threats against different parts of the community the law steps in and stops it. I don't like Rosie Parkers opinions but she should have been able to express them and not be shouted down. People can make up their own minds. But with free speech comes responsibility to make sure you don't just accept the opinion given but do some research. Good example would be the anti vax rhetoric where the opinions were not based on scientific evidence , then we can hear their opinion but not necessarily believe it.
Applying American views on hate speech in NZ misses the mark. This intelligent Women has mentioned nothing about the Cultural differences What you say is one thing what you do is another!!!
And what the hell has cultural differences got to do with New Zealand women being shut down and not allowed to speak. That was our human right taken away from us!
@@southpacific222 Because, it should have been a Kiwi woman speaking. You would have heard of a vast difference of opinions between Kiwi women. A woman from another nation that has developed in a different way over 50 years should be allowed in private settings to speak. Out in public, no. Because another group of the public has the right to show up at that public spot for a totally different reason, and has the right to not hear it. They have the right to stop the entire speaking from happening. Once that happens, it is considered fine for the speaking to go ahead in a indoor location if people wish to hear it.
@@shauntempley9757 Posie Parker MCs the event. She introduces it and hands the mic to the women. it was kiwi women that were prevented from speaking. So your argument does not stand up. Jack appears to be a woke disciple of government think . A mostly peaceful demonstration 😂😂😂
She is good, I like her points
JT needs to find another career as he is no good at this one, he is either out of touch or has been bought..
This interview reminds me of that BBC reporter interviewing Elon Musk. When Elon Musk totally schooled the interview, like how Jack is getting schooled by someone who is obviously much more educated than him in FREE SPEECH.
Speak Up For Women and Women Act Up bring you your chance to TURN UP! Speech or silence. A sign or a chant. Just turn up to show your support. Wednesday May 3rd 2023, 12:30 - 1:30pm Parliament Grounds, Wellington
What is the man even talking about. Does he just have a weird twisted version of reality? How much control do you guys have over yourselves?
A 74 y/o woman getting her eye socket broken after being punched twice in the face by a young bloke is..."argy bargy"?
Mainstream media usually have the TH-cam comments turned off, the equivalent of shoving your fingers in your ears and saying "lalala I can't hear you."
Jack's obviously not seen the video footage, especially the drone footage, from that Posey Parker event that I saw. And that wasn't broadcast by the TV network that employs him. He's misinformed.
Common assault is now a "heckler's veto"? Bullshit.

Largely peaceful violent mob 😂😂
Convinced a few more people then TVNZ thinks 🤔
You can tell what side he stands on and free speech for everyone isn't it
Great representation of the argument, completely wasted in the current environment where the chilling effect has all the power to prevent discussions before they can even begin.
yep, cancel culture is alive and kicking in NZ.
We should stop pandering to people’s feelings.
The Posie protest was not "largely peaceful" as Jack suggests. It was a violent lynch mob. Posie was lucky she escaped with her life.
"Largely peaceful", yeah right Jack !! There was ZERO peace to hear the guest speaker.
Free speech is for everyone, even if you find their views repugnant.
Compared with Nadine Strossen, Jack Tame is a mental dwarf. Actually, compared with a mental dwarf Jack comes off second best. To describe the Albert Park violence as largely peaceful would play well on CNN.
jack is so one sided he goes round and round with his msm mates..jack you are soooo fake
TVNZ = Training Vehicle for Numbskulled Zealots!🤪🙄✊😱
The only people who belong to racial categories are those who ascribe themselves to such. The truly scary thing is that some still define themselves & others by concepts of race in C21 that have no basis in science; & wish to silence those who challenge these divisive views. That includes the NZ human rights commission.
Exactly why freespeech is so important .. to enable scientists for eg . to educate the public they have no race, that no one is or has ever been white or black and people aren't actually different colours. Some actually believe speaking to this truth is racist. #freespeech
Jack's brain is as smooth as a bowling ball.
She shredded you Jack Tame
Imagine what AI could do with restricting “free speech” , and the deception that could bring
Nice to see a sensible interview without a bias
IMO
What happened to Peter Gardner? We will find the truth
I used to have respect for Jack
Well obviously
Fantasy is not real!
Thanks Jack
For what?
Yes, it was good of him to continue the lie, give his opinion, then make a little joke. What a guy, hopefully no man in a dress punches his mum in the face for having a different opinion
And he probably thinks he is a real man.
Hes continuing a false narrative..listen to the Platform and the 3 hours of phonecalls of women who were physically attacked , verbally abused and traumatized by the " peaceful protesters" .
This interviewer is immature.
It's not American law. It's international human rights law.
@@shauntempley9757 what planet are you on. You have no idea.
@@shauntempley9757 Posie Parker MCs the event. She introduces it and hands the mic to the women. it was kiwi women that were prevented from speaking. So your argument does not stand up. The mob had absolutely no right to shut Posie or New Zealand women from speaking as Nadine explained if you actually watched the video
We do not need an American s advice ! Look where it’s got them …
It's international human rights, not American rights. Any nz women should have the right to free speech.
We need to look at America and England to see that these things are monsters and to keep our children safe from their colt .
What's hate speech tho all you have to say is new Zealand has to many immigrants and housing hospitals roads schools footpaths and other infrastructure can't cope then you get called a rasist that's how gutless the world has become
Let Julian Bachelor host his Stop Co Governance rally in NZ, I want to hear his content
Jack useless should have asked her "What is a woman "
