- In almost 800 videos, I don't think I've ever done an unscripted rant focused on a NEGATIVE topic, since you guys know I like to keep things positive over here. Decided to change it up and discuss what I thought was the worst arc (mini-arc more like) in the entire YuGiOh franchise. Feel free to leave your thoughts on this topic down below! If they absolute HAD to kill Crow in about five episodes with someone new, why not Zane from GX , people love the guy and surly Zane killing Crow is a bit more believable, plus uttering the words "And then Zane fought Jack from 5DS" feelings nice to say
Because Arc V didn't want to show duels between duelist from diferent generations (except with the Arc V ones).
I mean we didn't see Kaito duel against someone of GX or 5D's, same for all the characters returning to Arc V
Apparently, someone at the writing staff had a hate boner for GX.
Instead they made a knockoff of that Eggwhich guy from GX💀...

AHA! I know why this arc exists, they were trying to channel what gx was about, which was a whole bunch of filler episodes with characters you never see again
Its even worse, because at least with GX most of the "filler" was at the beginning and was used for the purpose of establishing the academy.
@@revolvingworld2676 Plus some of it was actually pretty funny. Come on, who didn't laugh at the literal dueling monkey 4kids so wisely called Wheeler? Or the tarzan guy the battle beast is kind of sort of ripping off?
The gx filler episodes are basically the equivalent to the start of arc v. By season 3 and 4 they all had purpose well arc v just gets lost.

What is your favorite starter type pokemon?
Replace Battle Beast entirely with Hell Kaiser. Give him a sad backstory about how he recognizes what Academia is doing is wrong, but he still works with them because they've been eyeing his brother and he wants to spare him from becoming a war criminal. And he can Chimeratech half the cast all at once before Yuya steps up to show him that you can have fun with card games again. Two to three episodes at most and another legacy character everyone would want to see.
Plus, the Arc Area Project gives a reason for him to go Hell Kaiser
I feel like Hell Kaiser should've been Edo (who was a complete letdown and im pretty sure didnt win a single duel), that strong duel general who basically wants to be the strongest with his cyber darks
I think the writers were more intent on sending a message to the home populace about two things:
1. Abusive Parenting
2. Not liking Joseph Stalin. (Stalin did not like the Japanese either)
3. (joke) Triggering Yu gi oh players with Gladiator Beast PTSD.
is it just me or was yuya basically the yu-gi-oh version of naruto but instead of talkano jutsu it's make everyone smile through dueling.

To me he’s the Yugioh Version Of Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
And instead of the 9 tailed fox plot armor he uses action cards. Nailed it. You are a genius

This is even worse when you remember that we NEVER had a real, full Yugo VS Yuri duel in all of ARC-V, despite it being showed as a major encounter in opening 5 (or 6, don"t remember)
I also hate how the writers completely ditched Yuzu at some point, despite her being one of the most talented female duelist in Yu-Gi-Oh history. Looks like they didn't want interesting female characters

That's a great point! I didn't even think of that. Honestly if they used him and Kaiba in the main plot the ending probably would have turned out better and a few things would have been explained. If Kaiba was the main villian (which would have made all the sense in the world) they could have said at some point that he defeated Pegasus and acquired Industrial Illusions. In the process he could have also acquired Pegasus' Milenium Eye and found a way to mass produce and integrate the way it cards people into each duel disk.
If “Final Boss Kaiba” could mass produce counterfeit Millennium Items in an effort to summon Yami, but that warped the dimensions, how wacky would that be?! Fun concept.
Was Industrial Illusions mention in Zexal?
Fun Fact: The first person to card someone was actually Yami Yugi! In chapter 10 of the manga “Duel 10: The Cards with Teeth (Part 2)” Yugi turns Kaiba into a card after he won their first duel. However unlike Pegasus, Yami Yugi turns Kaiba into a card in order to help him understand the heart of the cards.
They could've given Sawatari a win against one of those Obelisk Blues, or a win in general. We couldn't even get that...

Which is even worse when you remember he's one of the only ones who actually managed to DO things against Zarc. Even though it didn't matter in the end, I think almost everybody else just summoned a big monster and got destroyed whereas he was able to deal with some of Zarc's board
While the Crash Town arc in 5D's was ultimately unnecessary and took too long, it was still enjoyable thanks to the return of Kalin and his Infernity deck, and the bizarre but fun Wild West setting. It was an honest to god spaghetti western saga, which led to some badass duels and fit the tone of 5D's surprisingly well.

It's like the best filler you could have, kiryu/kalin's character was given so much love. Totally useless to the plot for sure though lol

It's a character arc. While not connected to the plot is still something important to give conclusion to a central character in season 2.
I just watched Arc V for the first time a few months ago and all I can say is that it is the biggest mixed bag series of all of Yugioh. So many great characters and decks, but so many unnecessary story lines and strange conclusions. The BB duel perfectly summed up the series as it started off amazing especially since Gladiator Beasts are so overpowered. However, the ending of a giant paintball fight was just bizarre. At least it’s not the worst duel of the series thanks to the quiz duel.
That quiz duel was so dang disappointing

The whole final act is a mess. I didn't mind the Battle Beast arc that much because for me the everyone vs Zarc is the most frustrating duel in the series. Why? Because everyone jumps in takes the 2000LP penalty, does nothing, Zarc defeats the partner. Logic indicates wait till the duel ends, then challenge Zarc.
I agree with this video. This arc was the worst Arc ever because it’s was so bloody pointless. Like seriously we didn’t need this Arc and there would’ve been a better ending like all of the Yu Boys and Bracelet Girls getting their bodies back. The fact that they wasted on an arc instead of doing something else was a complete waste of time.
Some duels I wanted to see instead of the Battle Beast Arc:
Yuya Vs Brainwashed Yuzu
Yuzu Vs Brainwashed Rin and Ruri
Akaba Reiji and Yuya Vs Akaba Leo and Yuri
Brainwashed Rin, Ruri, Serena and Yuzu Vs Yuya, Yugo, Crow and Jack.
Rainbow Dragon the time wasted with the BB Arc and the extensive time spent in the synchro dimension could have been used to properly explain and explore both the reason for the four dimensions and Z-Arc and Ray history instead of pulling that rushing bullshit at the end and he was right the Ray Fragments barely dueled at all even Yuzu didn’t do anything remotely important during the second half of the series.
You know when you bring the duels up I agree some of the duels could have been cool to see and also they could have explained where the one who took Serena went
Some more duels with Rin and Ruri would have been nice, for them to have more fleshed out decks. So their archetypes aren’t so simple. Maybe giving Edo a win so Asuka wasn’t the only GX duelist with a win. More backstory like you said too

Standard arc: This is the best Yugioh ever
Synchro arc: Show got a bit worse but still one of the best yugioh shows
Fusion arc Part 1: This show is meh now; its a middle of the road yugioh
Battle beast arc: Everyone realizes Arc V is going to be the worst show
Zarc arc: Everyone has hope that Arc V can redeem itself
Make a baby laugh arc: Reiji laughs hysterically because everyone actually believed Arc V could redeem itself
Nah the synchro arc was meh already. The show had the worst ratings of all time after the plot with the 4 Yus didnt progress because of Yuzu

You forgot the xyz dimension arc which is where I personally dropped the show because of how they completely failed with the bringing back past characters stuff making Kite humiliate Gong/Sawatari and having Aster get bitched by Yushou was the last straw for me and don't get me started on how the tyler sisters also humiliated Sawatari/Gong but ended up falling for Yuya's shallow ass dueling.
i like the synchro arc because scarlight is the best and summoning tyrant was the most hype on summon

I feel that if they used this time to develop the parasite plot a bit more it would have been amazing,
Picture this: scrap the original Yugo Vs Rin duel so now we have 5 episodes.
Episode 1 of the 5 is Shun vs Ruri that goes basically the same as it went in the real version.
Episode 2 Yuya and Yugo run into each other and manage to resist ZARC because they are so focused on finding the Braclet Girls, Sawatari is also with them as he and Serena formed a bit of a friendship back in Synchro when they went to go find duelists together. They all head into the parasite room together and encounter the 4 Bracelet girls. Yuto is so passionate that instead of body swapping with Yuya he gets his body back for the duel. Then they get sectioned off into four separate quadrants for 4 individual duels. Yuya VS Yuzu, Yuto VS Ruri, Yugo VS Rin, Sawatari VS Serena. This episode is the Yugo Vs Rin duel (which I feel he should have won but I digress) Yugo loses and Rin escapes
Episode 3 Sawatari VS Serena, Sawatari tries to reach out to Serena by talking about their past adventures in Synchro and puts up a decent showing, but ultimately ether loses or draws. Serena then escapes, breaking Sawatari's duel disk in the process.
Episode 4 Yuto Vs Ruri, An intresting duel where Yuto finally gets his emotional payoff for caring so much about Ruri the ENTIRE SERIES, Yuto ends up winning but then returns to Yuya allowing Ruri to escape.
Episode 5 Yuya Vs Yuzu, A duel full of call backs to the great parts of Season 1 and Yuya trying so hard to save Yuzu, near the end of the episode Yuto returns to him as his duel ended, and together they get a parasite in the brain and ZARC takes over because of it, Yuya wins. Then Yuzu escapes.
Sawatari tries chasing after but just ends up reuniting with Gongenzika and the rest of them,
Yuto gets intercpeted by Yuri so their duel can still happen,
and Yuya/Yuto get put in a cage just like in the real thing.
As for Crow and Tisukage's deaths, they aren't really needed, Crow comes back in a few episodes and Tisukage could just be helping Reria the whole time. As for Jack's return, you could have just had him start with the group when they were boating to Academia, just like with Crow.
Got PTSD from this arc. Remember how we all thought that Sawatari was going to die without accomplishing anything in the series? And then he survived and spent the rest of the series without accomplishing anything.
So were gonna ignore Friendship Cup & Zarc?
"without accomplishing anything" - I guess him almost defeating Zarc when everyone else before failed to come that close (and only didn't win for real because the writers are cowards) doesn't count then.
@@mikai4738 Honestly, Sawatari beating Zarc would have been more satisfying than that ass-pull we actually got. I actually think that had the potential to be the perfect conclusion to the series.
Throughout the entire show, Yuya was constantly doing his best to entertain both his opponents and any on-lookers. Zarc himself used to be an entertainment duelist, before becoming a lunatic dragon. And Sawatari was, at heart, an entertainment duelist as well, despite his only on-screen wins being against insignificant opponents or while teaming up with others. He never had a single note-worthy win on his own, so it would have been a really strong, thematically appropriate end to the Zarc-duel to let Sawatari be the one to finally beat him.

I always found it weird that they killed off tsukikage off-screen, and then have the rest of the characters feel very little remorse about it.
I agree with you that it was ultimately pointless. However, I think the point of the BB duel was not to show Yuyas entertainment dueling. But instead to show that you can’t treat people like tools or machines- academia’s ultimate warrior definitely could’ve beaten Yuya. But instead, it shows the effects of how he was treated by Sanders.
This should've been 2 episodes at most,

Leo Akaba was just as forgettable as all those characters you mentioned tbh.
Leo is memorable just for how much he got shafted. He was built up to be this Level 100 badass for the whole show and then come the final arc he does fuck all. Him, along with Kurosaki, Rin, and Ruri were the go-to examples I used on the final season's garbage character writing in my speech on "why the ending of Yugioh ARC-V is an absolute dumpster fire" for my intro to public speaking class
@@HunterStiles651 the whole of Arc-V is kinda forgettable for me. I am a huge fan of this franchise but Arc-V is by far my least favorite series. Things that I remember are the badassines of Yuto even though he was wasted and Kurosaki's too, Crow vs Yuya, Kurosaki vs that guy who was Academia spy in the synchro dimension tournament I don't remember his name, the return of Jack Atlas and him owning Yuya, the battle Royale in the first arc which was really fun and how great of a villain Yuri was. These are the only good moments of Arc-V for me. Kaito who was an absolute beast in Zexal came back just to do nothing. Edo and Asuka were wasted, the synchro arc was stretched out and really unecessary things happened and the ending was just horrendous.
He is supposed to be the main antagonist,but his name is not started with either Z or D so let's just forget about it
His Pendulum cards were no slouches, and getting to see Reiji with Yuya take him on made sense.
Sure, Yuri overshadowed him, but that's a protag form.
If Zarc didn't exist as an idea Leo could've gotten more attention down the stretch.
That's the only way I could see him being important.
@@nikosstrlkss5022 Dude, Dennis was an awesome character. Same goes for Sora. Academia spies made Kurosaki lose his composure, and those matchups got badass from there.
Yuzu/Zuzu vs Serena/Celina. Could've made it that Yuzu had managed to escape and Serena went to capture her again leading to a duel between them that lasts one or two episodes. It would give Yuzu a duel and we would get to see a duel between two Bracelet girls. Obviously Serena would win and the parasite would be planted in Yuzu's head but it would be an interesting duel. It also means we would get a girl vs girl duel which is rare for Yu-Gi-Oh to do. I'm still confused as to why they never had a parasite controlled Yuzu duel someone like Yuya. Ruri, Rin and Serena all dueled but Yuzu didn't? Why didn't they do that? Yuya vs Yuzu would've been great to see since they only dueled each other once and that was in Episode 2 and Yuya lost because he forgot how to Pendulum Summon. Having them duel again would help Yuya avenge his loss and give us some emotional moments between him and Yuzu. Guess the Battle Beast duel prevented both of these duels from happening and the only good thing from it was the Gladiator Beasts coming to the anime.
Can we also mention Battle Beast having that one continuous trap card with WAY too much goddamn text? Like they weren't even TRYING to hide the fact that they gave their last shit
And a lot of the effect didn't even make sense in the first place. I mean, you take GBs to put in the Forts, so you can return them to the deck to deal 1000 damage, and you can then return them to the Forts. That is such a convoluted way of doing things. Imagine if any Spell said "activate by placing a monster in your deck underneath this card, then shuffle it back in the deck after this Spell's activation's over". Completely useless and doesn't change anything. That's basically what they did with the Forts.
The Gladiator Beasts aren't even incompetent enough to need this trap card,
They could've just made a realistic duel and wrapped it up in 2 episodes
It's shameful that fanfiction has better Arc-V storyline than actual show.

Yeah... good luck with that. Not every Arc-V fanfic had its bright spots and that includes the defunct Dimension Wars fic which started out as a random YuyaxSelena fic.
@AzureRikaZangetsu True. I do keep an archive of some gems, some good, some hilariously bad (with a few being... infuriating to say kindly) as a key note of what to do with my own writing and have a good read and laugh on one discord.
Then again, this is coming from someone whose fanfiction career began with a crappy Pokémon 'Fanfic' Wikia they started up and ripped off numerous franchises for the sake of 'cohesion' back then. It wouldn't be until 2016 where I'd pull the plug on said wikia and restart my fanfiction endeavors, some successful like my ongoing fic Stand Up, the LRIG! (A Vanguard Wixoss xover) whilst others... not so much. I still possess the source code to the wiki to show to my discord pals what I used to get up to in the early 2010s.

The manga had an interesting story too.
I know why they did it. It was to promote support for the Gladiator beast archetype which was a tier 1 extremely popular archetype in the card game back in the day. It was just done at the expense of the story which is a shame.

I knew something was off but couldn't actually place it, and I watched this series for the first time like last week.

The worst thing about that arc is that Crow D-Wheel just...disappears. I don't think we ever see it return ever again.
I just wanna say this rant is justified and nothing is bad about it, and it’s well-made as if it was scripted!

Still hated the Synchro season for the 5D's pandering and me questioning how Yugo is relevant to the plot aside from his dragon.
Another thing about the Synchro arc that grinded my gears; The so-called "Friendship" Cup is really ironic because everything that happened is the _opposite_ of friendship, especially with all the Classism.

Original: Noah arc for cutting into battle city overall or the non canon one of capsule monster.
Gx:guess some earlier stuff in season 1 and 2.
5ds:I don't hate it as vn issues but the pre grand Prix story where we don't get much on story in mini enemeis while preparing. Kalin arc I didn't like as the main enemy nearly killed yusie more times than anyone.
Zexal season 1. Moving on.
Arc v: everything after season one aside jack atlas and yuri. Overall was not as good and characters regression to the cast.
Vrains: last arc with how fast it was going and so many plot holes left everywhere.
Best for each. Battle city. Yubel with supreme king. Dark signers. Barians. Season one of arc v and vrains.

Gx earlier stuff can get lost on me with how much happens on one island.
5ds is my favorite but the filler story had a few drop plots like the kid wanting stardust. Good one is the old guy with scrap deck to let yusie train a bit. Kalins mini arc didn't do much and the villain nearly kills or beat yusie more than anyone. It's weird.
Zexal I didn't like how ealry it was more a mirror to original but later stuff was fine.
Arc v wow season 1 was amazing mixing styles but later on it was main good guys pendulum while bad guys had other stuff. Jack and Yuri were the best part of later battles.
Vrain while fine last season rushed so much it isn't as good overall and the cast weak in comparison aside the mains.
Glad u mentioned Zexal as people didn’t give it a chance and don’t realize it got really good
I enjoy the Battle City duels but I’ll take Bakura over Marik anyday. Noah’s Virtual World was actually enjoyable for me but I will agree it was terribly placed.
@@hightidekraken zexal and arc v had reverse problems. Zexal was meh then good. Arc v was good then meh. I don't care much for zexal myself but I do agree more should see the later seasons instead.
This video is unscripted? I barely noticed.
To be honest, I've been extremely critical of the direction Arc-V took in general, but I liked that about Arc-V. It got me to be critical of something during a time when I could barely do criticism at all, let alone the constructive kind. So, because of personal reasons, I appreciate Arc-V for helping me develop an important skill. However, this doesn't excuse the flaws the series has.
And, since people have heard them all at this point, I don't want to sound like a broken record more than I already do by bringing those flaws up. Overall, I'll just say Arc-V is around 5/10 or 6/10 for me. I've watched worse and it had some good episodes.

Imagine if, instead of the Battle Beast, these 5 episodes were dedicated to Yuzu getting infected by the Parasite, Alexis mowing down Academia fools, and/or perhaps Academia throwing another GX legacy character at our heroes. Instead of Battle Beast carding 2 of the main characters in Arc-V, it's The Chazz, Zane, etc. Or maybe instead there's even a duel with Alexis and Atticus - who in this timeline drank all the Leo Akiba coolaid. IIRC in GX we never got an Atticus vs Alexis duel, and perhaps this could've been used as a means of both giving us that here while also adding some thematic tie-ins to the Shay vs Lulu duel.
Brother vs Sister, one is the brother discovering his sister's been brainwashed somehow and is trying to snap her out of it, whereas the other is the sister trying to break the conditioning Academia's done to her brother, and convince him to see the error of his ways. One is successful (Alexis), the other fails (Shay). Then Atticus points our remaining heroes in the right direction and stays behind to think about what he's done, Alexis then duels Yuri, he defeats her, blah blah. This not only sets up parallels to the Shay vs Lulu duel as previously stated, but it also allows Alexis to do something meaningful before she gets carded and utterly disrespected. Atticus could then maybe join the Z-Arc gauntlet, or maybe he just goes with Alexis and him and her take on Yuri together. Either way, it'd give top 3 best girl something useful in the plot to do while also not being a complete time waster.
We did get Atticus vs. Alexis in GX, didn't we? The whole "sibling idol" filler episode thing

@ULGROTHA i don't think it was out of misogyny but instead purely due to being rushed as hell. The Xyz and fusion arcs should've been 1 season each and, if they still wanted to go through that baby smile bs, make it a half season - and actually give us a damn fully merged yuzu vs fully merged yuya duel. I want the ability to play melodious and windwitch without locking myself out of the other archetype every turn!
Another huge problem with the Battle Beast arc is that the whole point of the Synchro arc was to get more allies, the only real new ally they got was Crow and he did jackshit before getting carded so the entire synchro dimension felt pointless.
Don't forget the underwhelming Fusion characters, Edo & Asuka! The former using weird cards to heal his opponent LP to get them to "remember" stuff & the latter losing instantly to Yuri!!
It's easy to tell that Arc-V suffered huge production problems in the later half as the leaks suggest.
Arc v had potential when I was a kid I thought it was done perfectly how foolish was I back than
I think the duels were so random and bizarre i mean just random dudes and we dont have scenes with yuri or the other yu-boys. I really wanted yuri's backstory of why he was so different from the other 3. Why he wasn't friends with serena?, I mean they left open so many questions.

Doctor vs kite and aster: gives Doctor a duel, kills of kite and aster so the final boss duel isn’t as bloated, and might be a good thing to take them far from the Yugo vs Yuri duel idk

This is one of the reasons I'm liking Sevens as much as I am. Its cast is small and focused. Sure, we meet some one off characters every episode, but that's what they are, one off characters. We still only focus on the main 4 most of the time. With Arc V it felt like they wanted to go big or go home, when that's not always a good way to go about it. Honestly, while I had fun with Arc V (mostly because I love multiverse stuff) it felt stretched out, like they kept stuffing it with more characters, more plotlines to make it this grand epic. Only for it to flounder in the end.
That's a really good chance for those one-shot characters to make a reappearance, given how rush duel format is still new and there's are hardly any developed theme in the game yet. Sevens can also easily do a tournament arc with the number of characters they will have.

The ARC-V anime was maybe overambitious in wanting to pay homage to a gazillion anime, video games, American entertainment(Star Wars, even The Three Stooges' Moe), and real life history/politics(The High Council is not subtle about representing the then-current Western powers as the High Council).
They wanted to mashup Final Fantasy 7 and Evangelion.

But I definitely agree about this arc. Probably one of the worst arcs I’ve ever seen, and it definitely doesn’t help that Yuya (to ME at least) was insufferable during these last few arcs, this one especially. Yeah let’s make the guy that basically MURDERED TWO OF YOUR FRIENDS smile (fuck off). That and this entire ordeal felt like filler. Pointless, and aggravating.
Nicely put. Yuya became self righteous with his entertainment duel. This arc hurt the series and caused Japanese fans to review bomb the series.
Basically, this arc and zarc ruined the show when it was already on the edge. Nice.
I would not only petition for a remake for arc-v, I’d help fund it. I only watched arc-v (when the only yugioh show I watched was the original) was because the story had HUGE potential for something special. It was a shame it wasn’t made with the same quality as others.
If you can so, _PLEASE_ don't make it really dark/depressing. Keep the humour as shown in the first half of season 1.

Ok, let me start by saying that I don't think this is the worst specific mini-arc of ARC-V, that trophy should go to the three horrible filler duels leading to Yuya getting accepted to the Miami tournament, the one with the ritual girl, the cooking guy and the revamped version of the quiz duelist from GX. However, I can see why Battle Beast is more infuriating: because it's so late into the series where everyone was waiting to see the bracelets girls, the Akaba family doing something, the beast-borg guy maybe? anything else, basically.
Regardless of that, I think this is the only time where Yuya was a believable entertainer, with the other characters only reacting for the sake of reacting beforehand (most importantly, the change of heart of Edo wasn't convincing at all) and you didn't even mention an important fact: Gladiator Beasts. Getting into season three, one of the most memorable things is actually watching Glab Beasts on screen and not in a single episode. That might have been the only reason why he was given this much time due to their popularity, stopping Yuya while other characters had their story to develop (stupid stories, unfortunately, with those bugs removing the bracelets girls from ever dueling again).
This guy should have probably be put into GX as a recurrent character combining the two filler arcs of the student who escaped into the forest to train his draws and SAL, the duelist monkey. How cool would it have been if you had this talented student leaving the school, getting captured by scientist and being forced to duel in order to produce duelist energy for the lab (not my idea, GX and 5Ds work around this concept, we have to deal with it) and mastering Gladiator Beasts because you only need to be lucky enough to draw one, since they tag in from the deck... a mini-arc to introduce a member of the Seven Stars (any other one could have been replaced.. the stupid pharaoh for example) and teaching the viewer about drawing out energy while dueling before using it as a plot convenience for Kagemaru to awaken the Phantasm early.
Would argue that Yuya fighting Jack was the only time Yuya was a believable entertainer. Quite literally everyone in the city tuned into watch how it would end so bad that they wanted to see it up close and personal. And for what it's worth, the entire season was building up to that.
Yuya playing Splatoon against someone who quite literally acted like a caveman and killed his own friends feels like the worst time to want to be an entertainer.

The witch girl did have some relevance in showing that Z-ARC was planned out from the beginning.
Here's the thing. In a vacuum, I don't hate the Battle Beast as a character, I kinda like him (I'm also a big Gladiator Beast fan so I might be a bit biased because of that). From a character design aspect, he's cool, not super original or anything (you could argue that even YGO itself has done it before with the 1-off Tarzan dude from GX, whom BB might be a reference to anyway), but cool nonetheless. The BB mini-arc as a whole however has a lot of issues.
They could've scrapped all the random 1-off characters, and maybe even the Doktor/brainwashing subplot (since that was also kinda irrelevant, let's be honest), and instead have a group of Academia lieutenants (think Edo/Yuri level in terms of "rank" I suppose) that the Lancers would've had to face-off, each could've gotten like 2-3 episodes or so to show that they weren't completely random goons (cough Obelisk Force cough). BB could've been one of them, so in the grand scheme of things he could've gotten a 2 episode duel or something while not hindering everything with his mini-arc. The rest could've been other completely original characters or some surprise old ones like Hell Kaiser or Manjoume.
Anyway, I suppose we could keep going all day about different "what ifs" in regards to the final third of ARC-V, so I digress. I generally like you for your constant positivity Dylan, but I guess sometimes you just gotta let loose and rant a bit, it's perfectly normal (also kinda funny too lol).
In terms of Lieutenants, more legacy duelists. Zane, evil Syrus, Atticus (alias Darkness?).
This is why I stand that Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL is the LAST best YGO series. It as a full plot. And it goes through it solid. Its characters [for the most part by YGO standards] are well developed, its plot makes sense and is interesting and it as some dark moments and some epic cards. I'm not saying its better then GX 5Ds or DM or 0 I wouldn't go that far [cause even though I love it the most. I don't think its better. But I don't think its worse then GX [which had so much filler at the beginning] and 5Ds [which had character story arcs dropped due to a cult scandal] . However Arc-V's ending was just a mess with a lot of problems in the kitchen and Vrains had so many things changed, things dropped, things added in at the last moment, rushed, and way to many issues behind the scenes. Even the main characters had no real development in my opinion. Sevens might be good.......but I don't think so. In the end I like ZEXAL the most and I am a bit bias [5D's I just realized is my close second]
Also I still kinda like Arc-V and wanted it to end good and I started liking Vrains and wanted it to go good and not be what it was. So yay.
Zexal had probably overall the best character development in the whole franchise as a whole and jaden was the only character with good character development besides Zane in gx and 5ds yusei was too perfect imo but another good franchise jack most likely had the best character development and I thought arc v was good minus the ending

Honestly, regardless if there are good moments, I consider most of the fusion arc to be the most frustrating arc in yugioh history to sit through. Not the one right after (that was the final nail in the coffin), the Fusion arc. And yes, I'm still angry and complaining about Arc-V.
I always felt arc-v should have had the yu-boys and braclet girls as the main cast and add a few like SORA and Dennis later. Replace crow with Yugo and have him interact with Yuri more after absorbing him and this show would have been so much better.

The only thing I liked about this arc was that the Battle Beast was using Gladiator Beasts. Don't really see that many throwback decks when Konami are usually focused on pushing newer product. Wish we could've seen a Burning Abyss or Shaddoll player in Arc-V. Those archetypes did come out during the Arc-V era.
I really feel like the only purpose of this arc was to kill Crow (although he returned 10 episodes later). These 5-7 episodes could have been used to fully explain the original dimention.

Honestly? I think Crow vs Zane would have been the best to kill Crow off. Have him destroy Shingo's duel disk right before he can step in, thus leading to the moment where Shingo decides to look after Crow's card and that development and then have Jack's big reveal with Crow being carded in front of them. Considering Zane's name appears in the show, I feel like he should have made an appearence. Hell, you could maybe have a part where Kaito steps in to help and Zane introduces Cyber Dragon Nova (An Xyz monster)

I was honestly expecting the plot involving the doctor brainwashing the bracelet girls to be apart of this video. As you must know, I wasn't pleased that at all so much I would've avoided that segment entirely.
But given the points brought up here, I can't say I disagree with this. I rather had seen Barret return to the narrative, see Sora and Shun interact more as characters, get a closer look at Serena, Dennis & Yuri's life in Academia, watch Yuzu work with her counterparts and utilize the Extra deck summons she should have gotten a while ago. And for Yuya to get some more interactions with Yugo and Yuri before the climatic duel with the latter.
Honestly that's the reason why the post-Zarc arc annoyed me. The baby laughing thing was dumb but at least it gave us an excuse for some more duels with characters I like. But not having a fully merged Yuya/Yuto/Yugo/Yuri duel with a fully merged Yuzu/Celina/Rin/Lulu duel where they're both pulling off crazy mult-extra deck type combos via mixing their various counterpart's archetypes together is a waste.
The fact that Melodious restricts you to Light monsters and Windwitch restricts you to Wind monsters makes trying to build a proper Yuzu/Celina/Rin/Lulu deck impossible, believe me I've tried. If only Melodious were given some pendulums that allowed you to skirt those restrictions and/or some multi-archetype monsters that can be summoned with both.... Konomi is wasting perfectly good card ideas here!

That's not even mentioning back when the hype for Arc V was big, we were lead to believe Yuzu was going to get into more extra deck summoning while she was hanging around with Yugo in a similar way to how she learned Fusion summons with Sora. Which would have benefitted her more from her time as the deuteragonist in the Synchro dimension and justified her being separated from her friends in the first half of the show.

I actually didn't mind this arc too much, but that may be because I binged this show on Crunchyroll instead of waiting for it weekly. If you ask me, the "Parasite Arc" was the worst because we finally got to see the Bracelet Girls actually do something, and they weren't even themselves--they were mind controlled. They kept baiting us, making us think Ruri was back to normal, only for her to be controlled again. Rin defeated Hugo, and she didn't bother carding him, which is a weird plot hole. Even after Yuya defeated Ruri and Serena, the latter literally kicked him in the nuts and they both got away CW Flash style, making that duel pointless. Right when we get to the doctor guy who was responsible for all of this wild goose chase, Yuya could have gotten revenge or something since the guy was being prick, but Leo was like, "nah bitch," and immediately killed him off, so the whole story with these parasites was a complete waste of time.

There was another wasted 3 episodes where Yuya had to remember the past, and we finally see that the one kid Tatsuya (Tate) plays Deskbots, pointless. Even the 2nd Yuya vs Jack wasn’t needed. Unless Synchro ended with Yuya losing to Jack or having it interrupted by Roget. The only fun thing down the stretch was Shun vs Yuya, & finally Reiji.
The end was terrible, not to mention that there was a lot of wasted potential. Personally, I really like this series, but honestly, it could have been much better. At least they could have given it a decent ending, but they settled for something that, for me, is unfinished. Anyway, it's my opinion ♡ (Sorry if my english is bad)

Arc-V was the exposure to the problem with the writing team having no idea where to focus and introducing so many otherwise new pointless characters and shoving potentially great new characters aside in favour of nostalgia kicks, and completely abandoning the original world that was written to go off on the "save the world" story as always has to happen in Yu-gi-oh; with how many times Yuya and Yuzu were ripped apart from each other as they bounced from dimension to dimension, so close to being reunited before being torn away again, it was just too insufferable once they got thrown into the Xyz Dimension and I literally felt nothing about it for the rest of the series.
It even ended up carrying over to Vrains with the writing team creating an entirely unique world like Link Vrains and concepts like Charisma Duelists before just completely ignoring them in favour of the Knights of Hanoi trying to shut down Link Vrains, which leads to the war between humans and Ignis as Lightning was wanting and the sudden heel turn by Ai in the final season once he was the only Ignis left, because Yu-gi-oh just NEEDS to have a world-saving story in every series, even with how it could easily be lurking below the surface waiting until the second or third season to take focus - there's only so many times you can save the world before it just gets predictable and tiresome from how high the stakes always have to be, and I just gave up after the start of the final Vrains season from how predictable it had gotten with Ai and Roboppi just sweeping through every character they dueled until only Ai and Playmaker were left.
I guess that's why Sevens was a more low stakes breath of fresh air, even with it targeting a younger audience - the world wasn't in danger, there wasn't some evil force trying to enslave or destroy humanity, just a bunch of kids trying to make their new dueling format popular while the big bads try and get rid of it with lots of dumb fun splashed in between; and although Go Rush at least has some form of serious plot, it's not really too bad when the whole interplanetary war thing is miles away from where the main story is so far, with its main character learning the game and wanting to introduce Rush Duels to his people so it can stop the war via more peaceful means.
I guess I just want writers who invent these fictional worlds and fantastical concepts to actually use them properly and not just throw them aside early on because they just have to write a story about saving the world with a children's card game - show me more of the Duel Schools inside Maiami City and outside of it and what ways of dueling styles they teach, introduce us to more Charisma Duelists besides just Blue Angel and Go Onizuka and the kinds of followings they've made or how Brave Max actually goes from zero to hero to become just like his idol Playmaker, and at least make a tournament that doesn't get interrupted by the world ending plot hook or is foisted into the story as a roadblock for that plot to progress, and especially don't throw in all these new characters if you're barely going to use them and toss them aside after five episodes - there are good stories there that are waiting to be told, only to get buried by yet another shounen cliché of "Gotta save the world because that's what cards games are for!" and I just grew tired of it being the only thing these writers wanted to make.
This is what I would have loved to see instead of the Battle Beast:
After Leo learns of Edo's defeat and subsequent betrayal in the Xyz Dimension, he appoints one of his star pupils to replace Edo as the head of the Obelisk Force. This new duelist commands a dragon that's said to be strong enough to take on the entire Lancers squad by itself: the First of the Dragons.
His name is Joseph, and his backstory would be an interesting one: he is Zarc's greatest rival from the unified world (back before Zarc merged with his dragons and all that other shit). The two duelists once faced off against each other in what was known as "the greatest entertainment duel ever", which lasted over 2 hours and went a full 60 turns. Although Joseph ultimately lost this duel, he earned Zarc's praise as "the best opponent he ever had." The crowds were in complete agreement, and gave out an applause loud enough to stretch across the entire world.
Later on, after Zarc merged with his dragons and started laying waste to everything, Joseph faced off against him again in an attempt to buy Leo and Ray time to prepare the four cards needed to seal Zarc away. Joseph was both sad and infuriated that his greatest opponent ever would throw away his humanity for the power to destroy the world. The duel was ferocious and emotional, and just before he went down, telling the Akabas "I've done all I can; the rest is up to you two", Leo and Ray finished prepping the four Nature cards. Ray, being so thoroughly moved by Joseph's intense battle against Zarc, snatches the four Nature cards and uses them against the giant Supreme King Dragon... and from there, the backstory follows the anime.
This man, now in direct command of the Obelisk Force, has but one mission in mind: to stop Zarc from reemerging as the Supreme King Dragon, by any means necessary. Eventually he encounters Yuya and faces off against him in a duel, and when he sees how Yuya duels, he tells the young lad "You remind me so much of him. My greatest rival, that is", hinting at the fact that Yuya is 1/4 of Zarc. Yuya fights hard, but the First of the Dragons proves to be too much for him to handle, and Joseph defeats him. But right when he's about to card Yuya for invading Academia, he receives an emergency call from Leo telling him to come to the commander's room immediately. Joseph is forced to spare Yuya for now, a decision that would ultimately prove to be fateful. On the way to the commander's room he gives his team orders to capture Yuya and bring him to the commander's room -- alive, and in human form. Unfortunately for him, the team that he sends to capture Yuya is defeated by an unlikely tag team of Kaito, Edo, and Sora, who just so happened to be in the same area.
Joseph eventually makes it to the commander's room, where he asks to help Leo defeat Yuya and Reiji. Leo declines, saying that "this is a family issue, my friend, so as much as I could use the help, I prefer to face them alone". The duel is terminated without a result (just like in the anime), but with Yuya slowly losing himself, Joseph makes an urgent push to try and eliminate the kid once and for all, saying that "Zarc's revival cannot be stopped by any other way. Please understand, gentlemen; this is for the sake of the world, for humanity!" He makes a second attempt to card Yuya but is blocked by Reiji challenging him to a duel. "Very well," Joseph says, "if you want to be carded that badly, I'll finish what your father, my superior, started! I'll work to stop Zarc from being revived while Revival Zero shall come to fruition! And as for you, Reiji Akaba... No, you don't deserve the name "Akaba" anymore. You're just a rebellious bastard son of Leo, one who never deserved to be born! And I'll prove it to you, right here and now! Prepare to be carded!"
The ensuing duel between Reiji and Joseph is intense, furious, and personal. In the end, however, Joseph is defeated, but no sooner did that happen than Yuri had entered the room, seeking to become one with Yuya. From there, the story follows the anime up until right when Zarc defeats Reiji. Before the latter ran out of LP, Joseph managed to sneak in an intrusion (at the cost of 2000 LP) and finally come face-to-face with his long-time rival.
"It's been a while, Zarc, although you look even worse for wear compared to back then," he says as he stares down the giant Supreme King Dragon and his lesser draconic allies. Flashbacks ensue as Joseph takes his turn, quickly summoning out the First of the Dragons in Defense Position so as to avoid an OTK by Zarc. Zarc attacks, but none of his monsters can destroy the First of the Dragons since the latter is not only unaffected by monster effects but also cannot be destroyed by battle with Effect Monsters, and so Zarc is forced to end his turn. At this moment, Joseph reveals his new gameplan: he defuses his First of the Dragons into the 2 Normal Monsters used to summon it, and summons out a third Normal Monster before fusing all 3 to create a new monster: the Transcendent of the Dragons. Boasting 4000 ATK and the same immunity to monster effects as the First of the Dragons, Transcendent can also banish all Spells/Traps on the field on summon. It does so, and Zarc permanently loses his ability to recover LP. Joseph equips it with two more spells: Draconic Berserker, which allows Transcendent to attack every monster Zarc controls; and Rainbow Veil, which negates the effect of any monster that battles Transcendent during the Battle Phase.
"It's over, Supreme King Dragon Zarc," Joseph proclaims as he orders his new dragon to attack all five of Zarc's monsters. He succeeds in destroying all five, but Zarc discarded a card that allowed him to survive the turn with 1 LP if he would take lethal battle damage this turn. Out of plays to make, Joseph is forced to end his turn. Zarc then proceeds to Normal Summon "Supreme King's Nurse" and then activate "Smile Universe", bringing back Supreme King Dragon Zarc with its effects negated. Due to Smile Universe, Joseph would gain 4000 LP, but the effect of "Supreme King's Nurse" changes that LP gain to effect damage instead. I legit skipped the Battle Beast arc back when it aired, and never went back to watch it. Can't say that doing that in any way decreased my ability to keep up with the plot or made me feel like I missed anything important.

IK HOW THEY COULDVE MADE THIS ARC ACTUALLY USEFUL. When zarc duels everyone have battle beast and katchidoki duel together since yuya made em both smile and both were beasts on the field, plus both use beast-warriors so they have so much symmetry. Habe them both try and cry to Yuya that "they aren't beasts anymore thanks to him but now yuya needs to fight his!" But sadly we didn't get that and got.....this
I'm having trouble watching Arc V anyways because everytime Yuya finds that perfect action card he needed I get irritated
It still bothers me that Shaddolls weren't used by anyone in the fusion dimension, since they're / they were among the stronger fusion decks along with Gladiator Beasts at least for their respective times in the game, they even fit similar to Sora's Fluffles/ Frightfurs, being a slightly horrific perversion of a cutesy or childish thing.
Altho adding one more Fusion duelist (Shaddoll) would be hard, but it be interesting if like mind controlled Serena used Shaddoll instead to represent motive of getting posessed and corrupted.
I'm thinking someone like Sora's sister who appeared as a manga only character in the Arc-V manga would've been appropriate could've gave her hypothetical anime counterpart a really creepy factor with Shaddolls
You do make good points in this video, because there were some things in the series that were cut and just felt like it was eating up time just like with the whole battle beast arc.
Honestly while this arc halts the plot I can't see them using those 4 episodes usefully. The characters were already assassinated by the time they got to Fusion. It was honestly a good idea to set up more villains in the arc but they got rid of them as soon as they were introduced. Leo and Yuri were fine and all but they needed more villains so that the lancers weren't just always at a numbers advantage. I mean come on they are heading into the the final bosses (for them) base and THE ONLY COMPETENT DUELISTS ACADEMIA HAVE LEFT IS LEO AND YURI? The bracelet girls shouldn't have been brainwashed that was a ludicrous idea that was only used so that they could pad out more fights without developing more academia characters. Why the hell would Leo have the 4 girls he needs for his plan to work, dueling in the front lines where they could potentially get carded or harmed? That's when I knew Leo was a clown and this show had no idea where it was going. They literally got rid of villains (Edo, Tyler Sisters, Rojet, Barrett) so early on and left themselves WITH NOTHING to work with.This arc just showed that the writers had no good ideas for the characters they already butchered.

Ah shit here we go again! Dylan's favorite arc. Tbf I don't hate the arc till the very last end and the closure to it. I liked the concept. I love the Battles Beast Idea of how he's an Academia subject that's soley as a weapon of mass destruction. However, the execution my God awful.

We kinda already had that idea play out with Sergey though, didn't we? Like Battle Beast is literally just the Sergey plot from Synchro without any of the over the top voice-acting or characterization of Jack, Yuya and Roget that made that plot passable.

Thanks for the video. The only think you forget is that the real purpose of this arc was to introduce an archetype to the anime: the Gladiator Beasts. This is a well known archetype in the card game since the GX era because of its fusions, and I think they decided to put it in ARC-V during the Fusion Dimension, but of course the timing and the introduce of useless characters really was annoying, the same happened with the prision arc in synchro dimension only to introduce the Cardians with Chojiro, and that archetype wasn´t good at all.
For Arc-v, I had the highest expectations of any Yu-Gi-Oh series.
The beginning was SO good.
The combination of the summoning methods was SO cool.
The archtypes and their speed were SO great.
But after the forst arc it just flopped.
So I was SO dissapointed with what it had become...
This point in the series was the most commercial like the show had been all season since they wanted to hype up new gladiator beast cards since historically they were one of the first archetypes to take off
Arc-V is my second favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! series after GX and the reason because it's only second is the third season.

I wish Lulu(Ruri) and Rin had more screen time in my opinion post mind control and that I still Yuri should have been used as the vessel for Zarc or became the "new Zarc", because it have related with his dark intentions. Then, have a rehabilitation arc for him later on. It's even more sad we didn't get Zuzu(Yuzu) to duel against her other counterparts as well as Yuya vs Yugo.
I honestly agree with this and they said they didn't have enough time to explain the OG Dimension and Zarc I legit deadass skipped these episodes when they came out though went back and rewatched later. I'm mentioning the Tower of Hanoi arc from VRAINS here too because I stopped watching after Yusaku vs Specter it was THAT OBVIOUS what was going to happen from that point on and still haven't as bad as late Arc-V's writing was I could at least finish it

Honestly you're not wrong. This arc was definitely terrible.. but for me it wasn't the worst.
As for Battle Beast. I see where they were going with it, trying to show the cruelty of Academia. Forcing someone to be a heartless battle warrior which resulted in him being a savage to anyone friend or foe because he fears being carded. Him getting redemption for that Berserk like state definitely was something I wanted but the way we got it... it was pretty bad. This BB arc could have done so much things for other characters or at least prove useful later on but nah, they just did a bunch of dumb shit and made the character essentially worthless. I like him but could have done without him.
I honestly feel like they might have scrapped BB early on, but then put him back him because they wanted to probably hype up Gladiator Beasts getting support. Idk.
For me the worse Arc was Xyz. Simply because of the shafting and RIDICULOUS "egao" moments. I was so HEATED when the Tyler sisters had barely any dam relevance. I haven't fallen in love with female YGO characters like that so quick in a while so I really had Hope's for them but the following episode they just.... ugh. I won't even begin with the disgrace they did Edo and Shun. Kaito was the only good thing in that arc as well as Yuto during the first duel against Edo. Anything else was just pretty bad save few pickings here and there.
Arc-V had the potential to be the best YGO to me but whatever issues they had and screw ups in the studio just royalty hoed the show after the first half.
Even though its been years, I think about Arc-V every once in a while and how it had so much potential only for the writers to do nothing with it. This video sums it up perfectly, and reminds me of that sting of betrayal I felt at the last arc, ending, and damn it the entire thing haha
Tbh while i didn't like this arc so much i didn't dislike it and found it actually necessary. It's not like they were just going to stroll in to academia and challenge Leo. It went pretty much how you would predict trying to storm a castle would be. Battle beast was an obstacle, they had to get him out of the way and go to the next stage until they find the boss.
Do you know how The battle beast arc could've worked? If he roamed around Duel academy, carding anyone of his desire, thus making him an acual threat for everyone, thus giving him a purpose in the story.
You know I’d love to see new yugioh serious where all the protagonists meet up. Bonds beyond time but in series form with all the main characters and a more intriguing story I’d watch that.
This just made me wanna go back and watch the battle beast arc 😂 to me, it's a gem in the middle of an otherwise terrible arc, that being the entirety of their time in academia
So, like...I’ve been watching Arc-V with my girlfriend, and we both think all the standard dimension stuff is pretty much some of the best Yugioh we’ve seen.
Synchro dimension was good. Maybe not as good as before, but still *strong*.
Xyz Dimension was...okay. Needed more time I thought.
We’re in the middle of the fight with the professor, and it just kinda bites now. I’m disappointed. It had such a strong opener, but yeah, so much of the battle beast stuff just killed any momentum the show had. I was really hoping it’d be a GX character again.

Something I would have liked to see is when Jack is planning to go to fusion he plans to show them synchros full power and aside from black winged dragon (in my version crow takes it when he goes ) Jack gathers all 4 signer dragons (having been given stardust by yusie before he vanished) and combines them with his deck and he enters fusion just as crow is getting absolutely clapped by Yuri with crow throwing him black winged before yuri cards him and in a fit of rage Jack challenges Yuri to a duel (this also happening after Yuri's merge with yuto) and by the end of the duel Jack gets out all 5 signer dragons evolutions at once but the duel ultimately ending in a draw (showing Yuri is so powerful even the combined might of a shows main characters can't overcome him) and zarc taking delite in oviserating Jack in their duel
You know what I hate most about this arc? Its that they shafted Shingo AGAIN. I thought they were gonna give him and arc and actually let him be useful for once. I thought he was gonna go in, all inspired by the death of Crow, and annihilate the Battle Beast with his Abyss Actors. BUT NO, they just break his duel disk and sideline him again! I normally wouldn't be this angry, except that Shingo was my favorite character in Arc-V, mainly because I found him the most relatable. I relate to him switching decks a bunch of times to find what works but constantly losing anyway (I'm really bad at Yu-gi-oh) and I wanted to see him win JUST ONCE without it being a tag duel, but I guess the writers had other plans.
TLDR: I hate this arc because they don't let my favorite character do anything after he has not and will not do anything meaningful in the show

*then we have a duel between the 3 of them with Yuya trying to stop Jack's thirst for revenge and making Hell Kaiser have fun, in the middle of duel we discover that Hell Kaiser is only dueling for Leo because they have Sho/Syrus as a hostage and they force him to duel or they turn him into a card and that's the reason why he doesn't feel nothing from a duel since that, then Hell kaiser defeats Gogenzaka and turns him into a card awakening Yuya's Berserk mode to show him that Every one can be surpassed by its Rage and Everythin is not resolve with Smiles and Fun, Yuya summons Raging Dragon and it's about to win that way but Jack who seeing Yuya's Berserk mode understoud that this not who things must be done its able of getting through yuyas wrath making him react and stopping Raging Dragon from attacking and saying "This is not what Gong would wanted... this is not who Duels are supposed to be" this words gets to Hell Kaiser who remembers sho saying something similar when they knew what Academia was actually doing "Brother we are not making a better world we are hunting them as animals... this not how duels are supposed to be... remember when we were kids and had duels for fun, that's how duels most be" and the fact that yuya exposed himself to being defeated just to prove that Duels are not supposed to be used as weapons was enough to make Hell kaiser to change his mind*
Hell Kaiser: Yuya... right?
Yuya: yes?
Hell Kaiser: I will remember it... IT'S MY TURN!!! (Sho forgive for what i'm about to do... but something tells me that this what you want me to do)
I ACTIVATE THE SPELL CARD: POWER BOND!!! THIS ALLOWS ME TO FUSION SUMMON A MACHINE MONSTER FROM MY EXTRA DECK AND THE MONSTER SUMMONED BY THIS EFFECT HAS IT'S ATTACK DOUBLED: NOW I USE MY 3 CYBER DRAGONS TO FUSION SUMMON MY TRUE ACE!!! DESCEND LEVEL 12: CYBER END DRAGON!!!
(this is very important and poethic because during the whole duel he never used power bond even having it since turn 1 and never summoned a Cyber Dragon Fusion that wasn't a Chimeratech because he felt that he wasn't worthy of summoning Cyber End or using power bond because what he was doing, he didn't wan't to involve thouse symbolic cards in thouse acts but now thouse cards were going to play an important role )
Yuya: wait if it doubles it's attack that means...
Hell kaiser: EXACTLY!!! CYBER END DRAGON HAS 8000 ATK POINTS... NOW CYBER END ATTACK RAGING DRAGON AND FINISH THIS DUEL!!!
Jack: (If this attack connects yuya will lose 5000 lp he doesn't have that many)
*Yuya tries to obtain an action card but when he uses it Hell kaiser uses a Counter Trap and Negates the Card's effect then seeing that there's no other choice Jack uses his last trap card one that change the attack to Red Dragon Archfiend Tyrant ending the battle phase after loosing him the duel but saving yuya*
*Yuya and Jack have some words thinking that Hell Kaiser would turn Jack into a card but he doesn't*
Jack: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!! JUST DO IT!!!
Hell Kaiser: I'm not going to do it... Yuya, you were right you and your friends showed me that there's allways other choice... But when i said that Cyber End would end this duel i wasn't lying

*As he ends his speech the explosion of Power Bond reduces his lp from 4000 to 0 and the automatic system of his duel disk to punish losers turns him into a card*
One of the biggest flaws with Arc-V, in my opinion, is that too much time was spent in the Synchro Dimension. As a result, the Xyz and Fusion Dimension arcs felt incredibly rushed. Also, don't even get me started on the ending. I've never been so disappointed with a finale.
Agreed! Despite how good the movie was, I still blame Dsod for this, even dragged Vrains with animation budget >·<
And the characters from GX got shafted so hard... Poor Xyz dimension arc T.T
The Battle Beast arc *was* very important. Without it we wouldn't have gotten that sweet Gladiator Beast support
