Just caught up with this flog, great insight, I know what you mean about people looking in! , we lived on a Narrowboat for a while and people would regularly stare in, very little privacy unless we actually shut the curtains, people are just naturally interested and curious……who can blame them 😊. If I may, can I also add that I don’t agree with the carbon footprint point you mentioned. I oppose green ideology which in reality has nothing to do with the environment - but rather is about control. Keep up the good work and who knows - we may bump into each other at a park up somewhere.
@@ShaneandAneVanLife Well - it’s somewhat bigger than Fergus. It’s a 14 yr old Hymer SL about 6m long but we love to wild camp. We may get something smaller for our next one but who knows. I’m planning a sister channel to my current one on the campervan motorhome topic. I haven’t uploaded any videos yet, but I will do so soon as I already have the page set up. The channel name is Kamper von Megaphone. Hope we bump into one another at some point.
One reason you will see barriers go up and more no parking signs is because often its van lifers themselves ignoring the signs and parking where they shouldn't etc...A certain you tuber actually filmed himself parking in such places that clearly had no parking signs and bragged about it and the comments thought it was great...unfortunately its always the minority that spoils it it for the majority..
Yeah that's very true. During lockdown in Ireland a lot of people went and lived in their vans and left rubbish and fires behind. They ruined it for everyone else.

Depends on your insurance company. And where you are from. I know we have to let pur insurance know we will be in Europe from this date to that date and then if we want to stay longer we need to apply for greencard extension for another 3 months. You have to pay for the extension.

Is it expensive
With my insurance company roughly 1euro a day. Other companies give you a green card for full year for free. Dolmens is free for a year
