This is an ok cover. The band is fine, however I'm not crazy about Denzel Curry's performance. Denzel's material is ok, however his voice during the RATM material sounds amateurish. It would be cool to see a reaction to a Brass Against RATM cover. BTW - Congrats on the upgrades!
love the channel but the new set up where you both have a screen to look at and you are kind of looking away from each other sort of spoils part of your natural chemistry a bit because i can see you both have to turn your head to see and feel how the other is reacting but just my opinion
This is a totally valid opinion that I share. It seems quite a few do too. Impersonal is one of the best words for it, and it does lose a bit of the appeal of the channel.
That third verse is just in a different pocket in the beat, doesn’t mean it’s off beat. He inserted that beautifully, my favourite cover of all time fr.
So maybe I'm just sentimental but gotta say I am so proud of you guys! I hated your absence but you invested in the channel which was so smart! Great reaction! Loved it!
The reason this cover is so good is because he respected the original. He did a video where he explained that he was worried he was going to mess it up so he put effort into making sure it was perfect.
Metalhead since the early 90's. Grew up in a diverse area. Loved Rage!!!!!! Everyone did.....Even punks. Rage is metal...rap....hip hop.... funk....and most of all PUNK!!! Denzel brought Zack's energy, and a very punk feel to it. Loved it!!!!!
Also not a fan of the new look. On top of the complaints of looking too far away and being distracted with the laptops - seeing the mics also make it look less personal. Before it looked like a couple of guys talking to us - now it looks like video of a podcast. Sorry, but sometimes you dont have to fix what isnt broken. :(
Not to be critical, but I kinda miss the old setup. We could see your faces (and thus your facial expressions) better. Just a tiny bit of constructive criticism. Still, good to see you back. 😊
Also, it seems weird that they're now sitting apart and facing away from each other. However, the audio is massively improved. And they'll get the kinks worked out.
No George is exactly right that he is off beat. The issue is that he took material that was written to a different pace of music and the beat did not match Rage's song. He did end it very well to get back into the original song. But his material did not sync up with the pace of BOP. It's not a criticism or a knock, as it was a great mesh with his cover of the song. It really did well.
it was very similar to the flow of zach's but Denzel just had alot more words in the verse compared to zach's in the song so I think hearing the flow go for so long made it sound weird
I just think it's cool to see a modern MC paying homage to Rage. They are so often just lumped in with metal that happens to feature rap bars, but Zach is such an intelligent, intense, influential MC in his own right so it's nice to see the rap side give some props.
Your too far away. I love seeing your beautiful faces. The reactions will be less powerful if you keep the look of the videos like this one. It’s less intimate. It was nice to see you physically close the new table is to big and you are too spread out. The sound was great. The song was great, the band killed it and the singer did great. Please review Brandi Carlile and Tedeski Trucks! Nevertheless, it was great to see you both back. Change is good - keep up the good work.
I really like the new setup, but I feel like instead of minimizing the camera and putting the video above it, you should just have the video in that gap between you guys and keep the camera full screen Regardless, great reaction as always
Yea or it would be cool if they managed to stream the music video on the green screen they have in their background. No offense also, but I can see green reflecting off Ryan's head.
A cover isn’t meant to be an exact replication in delivery of the original song. It’s an interpretation and translation. This approach is off the hook and Denzel’s version is fire. To cover RATM, commends fists up ✊🏽
Well they clarified that it just seemed to not fit the groove of the song, don't think they really mean actual timing wise. I'd have to agree the improv didn't fit the rest of the song.
New studio looking great, but I still cant get over yalls format of putting the video above yourselves and having your own video "uglily" cropped around, its kinda weird. It might be kinda cool if yall put the video on the greenscreen behind you and had yourselves with the video fullscreen, non-cropped if yall get what Im saying
Just stumbled across this. I am a rocker and this cover blew my mind. I actually live in Australia and listen to this segment every Friday, most weeks it is nearly always good but very few people really take a risk like Denzel did and boy did he pull it off. I have since tracked down more of his stuff because of this cover and from what I've seen most of the metal/rock fans were blown away by the fire, passion and how he felt that groove with every once of his body.
I don't understand why change something that works just fine. Setup was great before... Sound?! If you wanna have a good sound go listen to a record then... I dont know this is weird now..
Maybe you guys are a bit far from the mic at some times? At certain points, the audio levels are a bit low on your commentary. I noticed this on the la grange and zz top video too.
I'm hearing impaired so my volume's always hi. I think the overall volume level is lower than in the past. I kind of struggled hearing commentary throughout. That being said, the new set up looks great and the video overall looks crisper.
Welcome back! Now go back to the old video format! I know you're doing a podcast now but it was much better when you guys were looking at the same screen and weren't scrolling through shit the whole time.
I saw this somewhere else and had never heard of this guy before. Listened to some of his stuff and it's great, and this is one of the best covers I've ever heard. An incredibly difficult song to cover. The band was great which helps. the iconic guitar stuff was a little off but I still loved it, and as you guys said, a rapper doing this and pulling it off was so sick.
Glad to see that you guys are still making videos. I looked a few days ago and no new vids for a good while. I thought TH-cam cut ya'll down like so many other channels.

My son is in a doom metal band (Wizzerd, you should check them out) and I'm an old metal head back to the Sabbath days and I really liked this version. He definitely has passion for metal music and it showed in this performance. I will have to check out some of his other music. You guys always say some people can only sing certain genres and some can cross over, well this guy can cross over to rock/metal. Hats off to the band as well, they did a great job on the instruments. I will put this cover on my playlist, thanks Denzel Curry. And a big thanks to Lost In Vegas for bringing this to my attention.
Takes time to get use to change but congrats on the new setup. As a viewer I felt more like I was there with you guys living in the moment when you guys were closer. The old setup felt like you were chilling with your buddies listing to great music. The new set ups legit but felt like I was watching a radio show.
Dudes, you're killing my eyes! Your little box is way too small. Also, being able to see your laptops and so on onscreen makes it look as though you're self-absorbed, not really paying attention or talking to US, the audience. I get it was probably no different to what you've always done but because we can SEE the screens you're looking at it makes you seem distracted. I also get you probably wanted your Patreons to SEE the money you've invested in the channel but going forward your videos worked better as they were set up before: tight focus on you guys, the video you're reacting to in a much smaller box (if needed onscreen at all) and you guys looking at and talking to the camera (or at last appearing to).

Thank god you guys came back. It’s a bummer when your used to watching this show, and it just stopped. Your show is more than entertainment. It’s important.
Guys...get back to where you were last month. This is starting to have a very impersonal, commercial image. Sound did not improve and the table is too large. Just keeping it real.
My feeling is that this is their podcast setup that also serves as what they're using for videos. That said, there's definitely a loss of connection here and the communication issues and disappearing is another subject entirely.
I like the closer camera angle better! Props to you guys getting better equipment but the old camera angle was more smooth to the show! Feels like we're in there with you! Much Love to LIV
Firstly, the new setup is dope but I'm not a big fan of the zoom out thing when y'all play the video, it's like you guys are further away from the camera. Also I swear I think Ryan is playing minesweeper or somethin lol Secondly, can you guys react to (U can stand up - Avelino ft. Dave) if you haven't already thanks.
I've never listened to Denzel Curry before this, but I'll listen to him now. He killed this. If he ever decides to start a metal side project, I'll be all over it!
Good to see you guys back! Agree that you need to be closer to the camera but love the reaction as always. Highly recommend you check out Rivers Of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name.
As far as covers go, I thought this was pretty good, and this is comin from a big Rage fan. His energy was great, and I’d say his singing style is even harder than Zach’s. The only thing that’s missing is the awesome Tom Morello guitar solo. He probably realized that just couldn’t be done with his group, which is why he inserted the verse from his other song.
Why do u cover a song trying to hear like the original? There so much other things in Rages songs. You do an Electronic version. Or Just straight hip hop. Even do an all old Springsteen/dire straits feel over it. Hes just playing the song. When u have no morello on guitar its just makes no sense. Its like listening to teenagers playing their favorite band in the reharsal room.
That solo isn’t hard to play, you just need a whammy pedal. That guitarist seems a lot better than I am, so he can definitely play the solo if he wants to.
Glad ya'll got a lil bit of self care in there 😂 Your setup looks dope! I will say that the commentary does seem lower in volume at times, but just a small complaint. Good to see ya'll back!
The microphones are directional so they need to speak directly into them, every time they move they go off the microphones axis and drop out slightly. I caught it aswell 👍
cant believe people are actually in the comments putting you guys down man. I have been subbed for a while and saw the thumbnail and got excited. It looked like you guys got an upgrade with the new mics and the new table and new camera but people are bitching about it like its a bad thing to want to up the production of your videos. It's a damn shame people have that sort of mentality. You guys keep doin you tho. Love your vids and breakdowns
Hey guys silent subscriber here. I just have one constructive criticism. I love the new setup, but the black background should be replaced with a lighter color(not bright) or grey. It'll pop you guys out from the background and it'll be more visually pleasing to the eye.
It's really fkin hard for a rapper to pull something like this off without it seeming fake and forced, so I have mad respect for Denzel on this one. I know it won't happen but I would love for him to do a side project where he hones his metal skills and really gives metal a shot cause with a little bit of practice he would fkin kill it man.
Do The First MDC. Million of dead cops. Thats is the groundbreaking record in hardcore.and Bad Brains Rock for light. Its blew even Metallica off stage in 83. And Cro Mags. And the best record ever Rich Kids on LSD rockn roll nightmare . Nobody can touch that record.
right? they did a LATE crappy ramones song that was not punk at all. hardcore is what they'd love. Minor Threat, Black Flag, Misfits, Bad Brains, GBH, Discharge, Adolescents.
Love love love that cover. It's extra impressive considering he brought that energy at 8 am. Hopefully the way this cover blew up all over the world it introduces a new generation to Rage Against the machine. Being a Metal/Punk head gotta give big Respect to Denzel Curry
Will always love the original, but JESUS Denzel showed so much energy here! Love it.
Would amazing if he could do it live at a concert make the whole place go crazy.
This is an ok cover. The band is fine, however I'm not crazy about Denzel Curry's performance. Denzel's material is ok, however his voice during the RATM material sounds amateurish.

George u tripping hard thinking Denzel was off beat. That was a very complicated flow and he nailed it perfectly
Yeah, just all the accents/pauses were on the off beat and he didn't resolve it, just kept going with that flow.
No George is exactly right that he is off beat. The issue is that he took material that was written to a different pace of music and the beat did not match Rage's song. They probably already heard it, man. Its been out for a while now
@@thcrackman7514 they can still break it down, their every body dies video, they already heard it but still broke down the lyrics
It's not that good
It's really fkin hard for a rapper to pull something like this off without it seeming fake and forced, so I have mad respect for Denzel on this one. I know it won't happen but I would love for him to do a side project where he hones his metal skills and really gives metal a shot cause with a little bit of practice he would fkin kill it man.
we waited a whole month for that video....
at the gates - Slaughter of the Soul
OH man you guys look like a professional talk show
love it
Hooooly shit he killed that. (Mikasa by Veil of Maya!!)
Outrage 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You guys gotta get into punk sometime soon. Bad Religion, Minor Threat, Black Flag, etc. etc.
Bad Brains!
@@antiwitek I'll second that ✌
Do The First MDC.
Minor Threat, Black Flag, Misfits, Bad Brains, GBH, Discharge, Adolescents.
op ivy, descendants, nofx

Love love love that cover. It's extra impressive considering he brought that energy at 8 am. Hopefully the way this cover blew up all over the world it introduces a new generation to Rage Against the machine. Being a Metal/Punk head gotta give big Respect to Denzel Curry
