GuitarlifeHD what life do you lead where you think that 1.rappers cant play instruments and 2. not playing an instrument means you cant make good music?
@GuitarlifeHD you cant tell me people like denzel arent already into metal. Rap is the closest to metal its ever been, who's to say there wont be hybrid styles in the future?
GuitarlifeHD dude if you look deeper you’ll see that a lot of these guys really like metal and maybe not just metal some are really into pop punk and emo and while that may not be what you’re talking about with metal but they have some serious influences outside of traditional rap. Which has caused a divide in rap itself. If you look at bands like polyphia they’re making metal/edm, if you look at fever333 they’re very clearly influenced by linking park and rage. And on the other side of the coin ghostmane is a rapper and also in a hardcore band. Lil Aaron is seriously pop punk over 808’s, Denzel is a real fan he learned how to scream. Even before XXX passed him and ski mask sampled slipknot. This crossover is real and genuine.
GuitarlifeHD so you get to decide what is real metal? Pantera is my favorite band but I’d be lying to you if I said I didn’t love emo bands and lots of other shit not just tradition metal, there a layers brother.
I think the guitarist intentionally avoided replicating Morello's techniques exactly, partially because this cover is all about Denzel. Also why they replaced the solo with a rap flow. He made up for it by adding those blues licks at the end IMO.
The big difference he was observing is where the wah effect was in the effect chain I assume. I am not a hardware guy so I could be full of shit, I am more of an in the box guy because I don't like spending tons of money. Haha but if I was going to make the OG guitar tone I would place the wah/lowpass filter after the amp/cab or maybe after a tube screamer pedal (I say all three because all three of those could work depending on what your signal chain looks like. I use an amp/cab sim that bundles all of that jazz together. I then like dropping a tube screamer after that in the chain). For the Denzel version the wah is before the amplifier/cab/or tube screamer. It changes the color of the sound. Fun fact: that's also one of the ways dubstep folks get their heavy wobble sound is by placing a compressor/lowpass filter before the distortion in their FX chain. The more you know.
@@K0sm1cKid I believe the guitarist was using a electro harmonix pog or an octaver for those parts instead of a traditional wah he might have used an auto wah
Death Grips kind of does that but with a gangsta rap edge. You should listen City Morgue, it aren’t political but they’re immensely loud lol. Listen to Gravehop187.
Denzel fucking killed it! He really didn't have to put as much effort in as he did, but I guess when you have enough love for the craft it just happens.
A bit of vocal coaching to teach him breathing techniques so he doesn't hurt his vocal cords and we might have the next Zach de la Rocha on our hands people! Bravo Denzel!
@@HoffMan3102 isn't that crazy how some people already have natural control over their vocal chords? Lol. If I did that shit I would have no voice the next day lol

I do agree that Denzel had the same anger in him, but for ME rage is better. Bulls on parade was never really metal, but hip-hop. Their first album in my opinion is the BEST album EVER.
