Hello!! Was curious, I heard it cost about $50 to get a card graded so does that reflect in the price? Meaning you're saying a PSA 9 or 10 is $15 but to purchase it would cost $65? I collected cards in the 88- 94 era but mostly collect graded comics now! Thanks.
No, you don't add on the grading costs (unless you're the one getting a card graded). Graded cards have developed their own secondary market. So, you'll find slabbed cards selling for less than the cost of grading on eBay and other places once they're already graded. It can be dicey submitting lower-value cards for grading because of that. Grading costs come down at slower service levels and with bulk submissions, so that helps some. www.psacard.com/pricing#cards
The value of slabbed cards is determined by 3 things. #1. Demand for the card being/been graded. #2. The total population of the card (graded or not) #3. The total population of high grades of that specific card(9,9.5,10,10 black lable). Also, if you collect graded comics, its pretty much the same guidelines.. You are paying for the graded value, not the service, when you are purchasing the comics already graded. I guess in a sense you are paying for the service when you purchased graded item for a higher price than the raw version but that is not why the item went up in value.
Well psa has went way up on how much it costs to get graded. SGC is around $12 a card plus $20 shipping to grade cards. So if you are getting under 100 cards graded it doesn't pay to get low value cards graded. A lot of bigger time sellers usually will get 100s of cards graded at a time to reduce their costs
85 box sets of 1989 fleer sets means 85 ken griffey jrs, craig biggo ,bill ripken error etc pick all of these cards out from the box i will sell on ebay soon raw want to grade submit some their all mint condition all these years purchasing and collecting why am i so stuck on this set smh
Ped’s or not Sheffield should be in the hall of fame???? Umm no!! You must be a democrat to think it’s ok to cheat. You shouldn’t get rewarded for cheating!
Sure I'll watch some of the cheap sets videos :O Sheffield might not ever make the HOF but he's got the numbers and still on the ballots. Barry Bonds would've hit 800 Home runs had he not missed most of 2005, the strike of '94-'95 happening, and not been walked over 2500 times! But he's running out of time for the Hall. Billy Ripken outhit his brother in 1990 by .041! .291 to .250, and same # of Doubles (28). Cal got the last laugh though. At least Billy has his infamous "FF" card :O
Schmoltz.................umm no! It's pronounced SM OLTZ as in SM ILE............... How can you do a video and mispronounce so many names? Biggio------BEE GEE O
Great work again guys! 89 was the best year for cards!!!!
Sheffield had the fastest bat speed I ever saw and it was a heavy bat.
I bought a box of these years ago as a kid. I have almost all the high ticket ones Griffey included
