My husband who i recently lost most unexpextedly 10 days after his 75th birthday really couldn't believe me as to who did this song. I never put my 2 cents in unless i'm 100% positive. My brother was and my cousin is a DJ. I grew up with music and i have to say..."Go Now" was one of my all time favorites by the Moody Blues. Everyone that takes the time to read this, please have a Blessed day and a happy and joyful holiday. Have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Still stands its time
IMHO , Go Now, with Denny Laine, is the Best the Moody Blues ever recorded. I am now 75 and I feel for you and your loss. 🙏🏻
God Bless you ❤ ! Although, apparently he already has and your man knew that too. He's okay, trust me. You'll meet again I'm certain of it.. Love, Graham
It's a beautiful song. The one that always reminds me of the Moody blues. Reminds me of my dad too 😭
You take care x
I agree. It’s the best Moody Blues song ever. I’ve loved it since I was a tiny girl when it came out in the 60s
RIP the five members of The Moody Blues
Clint Warwick (June 25, 1940 - May 15, 2004), aged 63
Graeme Edge (March 30, 1941 - November 11, 2021), aged 80
Mike Pinder (December 27, 1941 - April 24, 2024), aged 82
Ray Thomas (December 29, 1941 - January 4, 2018), aged 76
Denny Laine (October 29, 1944 - December 5, 2023), aged 79
You will be remembered as legends

No, but it beats dying in your 20's. Sadly many music stars have over the decades.
Mike Pinder, original member, co-founder and keyboardist of The Moody Blues died April 24,2024. I recorded this song off my little table radio to a reel-to-reel recorder and played it over and over!!! I was 13 in 1964 when this song came out. RIP, Mike
I did not even know! This song is so special to me. I was 10 years in 1964. 😢
I was 6yo and already a crazed lover of intros. This one was epic. The piano thruout 👏🎶💕
When all is said and done, my favourite group of all time, Mike was an integral part of a group who produced deep and meaningful music of rare quality. RIP Mike Pinder, thank you for your gift of music to us who loved what you had to make all of us think about. Enjoy everyday you have on this planet people, they go quickly.
It's sad to read this. I love the Moody Blues. I always loved their 'days of future past' album. The orchestration was done in Belguim. The 'nights in white satin' is a topper in time. I always notice, there must have been a change in the group. In the 'Go now' song they are different as from the 'Future past' album ? Am I right ?
@@nikinewton7917 it was their very first hit.

Mike Pinder left this realm of existence today, the last original Moody, 4 months after Denny. Seems strange a big musical chunk of my school days have left. Dec 1941-24 Apr 2024. Go Now and rest it peace boys.

And now Mike Pinder, surviving member of the original Moody Blues.
Rest in peace, Denny. Your singing and music was the heartbeat of the nation. Thanks for the tunes. 🙏
Before my time, but I like many of the Moody Blues songs. I like Wings too, despite being a child then.
RIP Mike Pinder. With Mike gone, all five men of the original Moody Blues are deceased. These guys made a terrific debut album, “The Magnificent Moodies,” in 1965, and of course they paved the way for the “classic” Moodies lineup with Justin Hayward and John Lodge that would follow.
Let’s raise a toast to the original Moody Blues: Denny Laine, Clint Warwick, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, and Graeme Edge. Thank you guys for the wonderful music, including your 1965 debut album. Rock on in Heaven, the original Moody Blues. ❤️
I'll never forget Denny Laine stepping up to the mic during Paul McCartney's Wings Over America tour in '76, and belting out this beautiful song from '65. Being with another band, I never thought I'd get the chance to hear him sing it live, but he was every bit as wonderful as he was with the Moody Blues.

Denny couldn't get a steady gig after the Moody Blues. He had problems about money. Never had any. Paul invited Denny to be in the Wings tour over America. They gave him a solo, so campy with those multi-millionaire back-up singers giving it their all. They had it to give.

R.I.P Mike PInder, The last Survivng Moody Blue from the 1st Line Up, You Will be missed.
My favorite "Moody Blues" song ---- back when they were an R & B Group --- KILLER piano riff and vocal echo!!!
Warning: I'm a ferocious and vicious pit-bull dogmatic bitch about this song I could still recite in my sleep. I love Proco Harem best, but you really can't dance to "Whiter Pale.""still, It's simply stunning,. What's it about? I don't have a clue. But in my rocky-road life, too often I have had to skip the lite Fandango to get through a day. Be that as it may....Is there any more celebratory warning of the impending arrival of The British Invasion to an innocent America than "Go Now" by Denny and the Fritos? Wow! Does it ever get any better? Well. Yes. Land of a Thousand Dances is a big threat to the Go Now standing on the Charts of Life. Who was Denny Laine? I didn't have a clue. No one else did either. He was a blank-canvas lead- singer for a group no one ever heard of. It's destiny would never have been heard of without the machinations of a poor-but-honest black hack from Down-South United States, Bimbo Banks. As intended, it was not composed as a bombastic in-your-face Anthem so much as a soulful emotional entity for his wife to sing as a soulful emotional entity. Her song and her soul were as stated, poor-but-honest, Honest being a key word for Bessie's "Go Now." Bessie did record her song, and was it ever a true Southern Soul tear jerker, from the heart? Brilliance doesn't have to be boisterous. Bessie got robbed of what might have been a crowning achievement in her limited career. Who cares? She was black. Way too many of those southern Foundational songs were too black to be comfortable with; white people must be careful to reign in these people responsible mainly responsible for all this gospel-inflected "colored" music. Too wild for regular People to put up with. Leave it to white foreigners living in foreign ports like Liverpool, England.
Yes, I remember them as a B group too. Funny that I grew up as Larry Banks' and Bessie Banks' neighbor, an hour away, and never realized the Knights in White Satin were that way, you know, a black Soul, band, or even a black- soul band. And I was a Boomer. Imagine that, haha, an ignorant Jim Crow practitioner with Southern Roots not realizing Denny Laine & the Forks were, after all, a fun band you could dance to. I can hear their jungle rhythms right this minute. Off you go, NOW!
A good cover of the original.
@@JackMason-oq8lf You got one thing correct - you are ignorant. It IS "nights in white satin". A person can dance to any music - even a Northerner Jasper like you.
Rest In Peace to major talent Mike Pinder! I think it would be great if all media who have been dropping the exclamation point from the song title "Go Now!" would finally use it.
