Happy Lunar New Year from Singapore!
This Magic: the Gathering Commander show is all about showing the true essence of EDH - having fun with friends! Expect excessive banter, jokes and laughter as we battle to see who will be the last one standing.
In this episode, it's all about RED DECKS WIN. It's Etali, Primal Storm vs Delina, Wild Mage vs Birgi, God of Storytelling vs Sethron, Hurloon General. Expect plenty of storm, minotaurs, and copy tokens..? May the strongest red deck prevail for WEALTH and PROSPERITY!

14:30 Storm copies would've gone on the stack even with Krark bouncing the spell, giving him a final of 27 Copies of Relay on the stack while still keeping the OG one in hand

Chill. Galvanic relay says “you may cast the exiled cards on your *next turn*” so really the result would have been that he woulda be nuked off the table before he gets to untap!
@@LaustinSpayce who’s not chill? We’re just pointing out a gameplay error, no one here is going crazy.
*Edit: I'm not spoiling the episode, but there were a few pretty big misplays that were pointed out in the comments; we completely missed them even after post-production. We try our best to keep track of everything, but our priority is always to make sure that everyone at the table is having a good time and I hope that still comes through in the video. We'll do better next time and a big thank you to everyone who pointed out what we missed!

It’s ok, misplay does not matter…most importantly is every had fun. Even us had fun and it will not matter as the Chainwhirler will kill all them anyway…poor Gab.

An awesome game as always. There was abundance of storm count, multiple Jeska’s will, rampaging cows and chaotic rules interpretation. This was a red episode all the way.

In all honesty I do wish this channel wealth and prosperity. You guys make stellar content and I always get a laugh and see some sweet plays. I’m pretty sure he could have sac’s the siege gang commanders instead of casting spells to win. He had the mana to sac them to themselves and cast lightning bolt exactly 7 damage. Lol love this channel.

It is funny to see that Etali gets to survive so long. In my group of friends, there is one friend with an Etali deck, and I think I've only seen his trigger happen like 3 times. We just kill that thing on sight, and we are collectively known as the Etali Defense Force

Matthew plays more aggressively so it's normal that he is targeted. Same for Esmond, the decks seem more tuned, making him a threat/target. It's not an intentional feud. But a casual one :)

Loved this game. Mono-red is the best!!! Matt - Have you considered Nassari, Dean of Expression (& just ignoring blue) as an alternate to Etali? I'm interested in how it'd be similar but change some lines of play, benefits & weaknesses. Contemplating building them myself.
Interesting! A bit of waffle to contextualize my thoughts - I don't actually limit myself to playing mono-red, just decks with red in them. Because I know this self-imposed restriction cuts me out of a lot of interesting commanders, I try very hard to make sure that my personal decks for playing with my own playgroup have as little overlap as possible to feel unique. Because of this, I wouldn't play Nassari myself due to the similarities to Etali.
THAT SAID, I think Nassari could still feel pretty distinct from Etali. I actually wouldn't ignore blue, because the first thing that came to my mind was Paradox Haze. I'd perhaps ignore Uvilda and treat the deck as a UR Nassari build, with mostly tempo and stall plays like Sphinx of the Second Sun and Sundial of the Infinite, just to give myself as many upkeeps as possible. And just like Etali, the win cons will come from the opponents' decks heh heh heh
@@matty4100 That makes sense, totally get not wanting to overlap. I was thinking mono-red (plus UR-hybrid CMCs) Nassari for the easy mana base mostly 😁but yeah, Paradox Haze is a strong siren call. Maybe all the clone & Mirror Box effects too... personal side game could be to see how many Nassari upkeeps & triggers you could get in a single turn

Wheel of Misfortune was ruled wrong sadly. Since it would only deal damage to the player that chose the highest number. So instead of Zansher taking 8, Esmond should had taken 4 because he had the highest number.
How was it ruled wrong? The number Zansher chose was 8
