- FaceCulture, www.faceculture... , visited Textures producer and guitarist Jochem Jacobs in his studio in Tilburg in the Netherlands. Jochem told us all about the building up of the track Awake from demo to the finished product of the album track. Awake is a track from the new Textures album Silhouettes.
So awesome.... look at his love and passion for every little detail... a true musician! and... anybody else annoyed at how dense the interviewer is?
why do you need both?? :D simple boy... :D
Jochem is a god, sucks the interviewer couldn't do him much justice.. Can't really hate though.... A bit late, but thankful this stuff is still around for us all to experience. To anyone who reads, i hope you are well.
What ever happened to him? I know he left and focused on more behind the scenes stuff but I always wondered if he's still in music
200 tracks?! wow...I thought recording with 42 was a lot. Textures rocks..Awake is amazing song, I love to see all the hard work that goes into production.
Love hearing his voice acapella like when they reduced background music :D
god, listening to this song makes me think about so many things...but it helps me look at the positive side of things, and that life isn't so bad.
I like how preproduction sounds way different from the album release (the heavy part anyway).
Love this dude.
Fucking GOLD! thank you!!!
i need the pre production demo haha :P
Love you.this music.this lyrics.you are musicians and can show to anyone that things that metal is only about some angry crazy guys that is a really beatiful music.Keep rocking dudes
amazing song)) i love it very much
when i am 70 my grandchild will say 'Grand dad..why can't you hear any more?'
'Textures my boy...textures..'
weird to hear what the song sounded like before the final album version
Jeroen van koningsbrugge
Genius song
@D4athPanda Of course it sounds better in the studio, they need to butcher the quality to put it to disc
How can I add that "echo" to vocals? Is it possible to do so in software like Audacity? (I tried the echo effect it has but it repeats the words only)
2:26 stef rules
yeah, once he played it i was like wait what, what song is this, then it started to make more sense
weird how the song actually turned out way different than the parts he played. jochem is a dude, and one hell of a producer
Geeee!! 200 tracks?!!! within this song?!
@o0ShadowsfeaR0o Calm part too. They changed quite a bit.
So the guitarist is also the producer?
Why does this version sound so much different than the video version?
Good video. Interviewer...
Well, this was a dumb comment by me way back. Sorry, "interviewer"! Actually love this, so thanks. :)
@9egomurder It really is.
True and Any metal interviewer could have done that .. But still there are some naive questions being asked, wouldn't u agree?
for eg. and i quote
"What is the meaning of having two atmospheres?"
he then ask
"Why do u have two separate parts?"
@9egomurder Absolutely
Thanks for accepting the video response! Appreciated! :)
@CleverNameHere81 Originally no. Now he is.
i didn't know john mayer was in textures!
@mattthedream lmao :D
But it's not far from reality, I'm addicted to Textures as well.
@mattthedream Wondering how you'd hear him say that :D
@9egomurder totally agree man haha
it's a jade..
I think I'll say "Your grandma's a screamer..."
hahaha hell ya
my nigga
my nigga
I'd eat a rat for tone like that.
ROFLMAO XD
lol BCE
@allhailpantera123 haha, you're the second person to say that to me this week, i came to the conclusion that i have a hearing aid ;)
@AScarlette Very valid point, :) It's a good job it was just a humorous comment, which generally don't need to be scientifically sound. My guess is that a hearing aid of some form allows me to hear to some degree.
