How To Make a Free-Standing Punching Bag at Home for $20

  • This DIY punching bag is a full height free-standing version that can be easily assembled and put away when not in use. The best part is that you don't need to hang it! This one has the advantage of a reflex action, so you can use it to practice defensive movements when it comes back at you.

    If anyone in the GTA or Canada is looking to make one and is having a hard time finding pools noodles ( took me a week to find some end up finding them on sale at Walmart) when you got to buy the pipes they should have some pipe insulators. They are basically the same thing. Also the cheapest umbrella base I could find at this time of year was Amazon. And it was one that you can fill with sand or water. They also have sand bags that are meant to wrap around the base of umbrella that cost just as much as one water jug does around here

  • @DougDennis
    @DougDennis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great videos. I’ve been doing martial arts most of my life and my kicks are pretty hard. I’m thinking about doing just the metal pipe all the way up. That’s plenty of padding. Do you think that would work? Would it shuffle the platform around too much?

    • @Kewlus
      @Kewlus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks bro. For kicks I’d recommend making it flexible so that the flex can absorb the shock. For the base you’d need a solid umbrella stand. If using a flange make sure to use bolts rather then screws. I’m about to show a bolt on base upgrade, so stay tuned 🤙

    Sizes here in Canada might be a little different for pipes, but a 1inch pvc or galvanized pipe are very similar (inside diameter and outside diameter) so they don't fit inside one another. Do you happen to know the outside diameter of the steel pipe you are using?
