I have heard may sayings about the wind, but the one I remember people saying is Wind from the East you will have a feast, wind from the South fill your mouth, wind from the west is the best, wind from the north.. well it is from the north. 😛 Thanks Scotty good video as always. The one thing I am trying to learn and follow is the barometric pressure trends for fishing.
Noticed a lot or smaller walleye this year especially in the fall .Nice to see the different year classes .Notice the pike are more numerous. My friend got a nice one in a deep cabbage bed about 30 inches estimated the weight at about 10 pounds .The biggest pike I’ve seen in 20 years and I have a place out at AB so I fish the lake every weekend spring Summer and fall.Like your videos of the different fish .Did you see any whitefish ?bad die off this year.
It's nice to see the different year classes for sure. I haven't seen a 25" walleye yet but sure would like to. The pike numbers are increasing for sure which is good to see, I've seen more small perch of late as well which is a positive for this lake as you know. The spot I fish doesn't seem to have any Burbot and I do see the odd high flyer Whitefish on the camera but they have no interest in me, my thoughts are because of the camera.
The whitefish in the lake died like crazy it was sad, probably paddled by couple thousand big 4-6 pound whitefish in the summer. The whitefish don’t bite either tried to fish for them and they just did not care about the lure being there
@@fynnharris4590 Over my years on this lake, I’ve seen a lot of summer kills on whites. It’s sad to see for sure. I don’t target them here and just concentrate on the walleye and pike
I haven’t fish for whitefish for a few years .But have seen schools of 20 to 30 fish in the spring when the water is clear swimming near the surface when the midges hatch in the spring .They seem to like to hang just off the reef near the church camp . I use to catch some in the winter on brass coloured cast masters or the odd one on a wetaskwin . I did limit out one time by the reef at the mission on red wire worms in March .I think the ling were spawning .Went back the next weekend and nothing. The whitefish out of St Anne are good quality
Liked the vid, thanks. One question, didn’t quite get where you like to set up. Did you say right at the base of the drop off, so the deep side of the transition?? Do you find fish slipping up to the shallows at evening or does this spot work best even during the “evening bite”?? Thanks.
Yes and yes I fish right where the drop meets the deeper flat. The fish cruise up and down the structure throughout the day and evening. I tend to get them there all day but more at the last hour before sunset
Great video😍. I could watch your screens all day. I love the talking about what your thinking as well. Helps us all learn.
Keep this up.
You've asked too many time not to get the footage. I'm glad you liked it
Fantastic combo of live target and footage, great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it. Lot's of people keep asking me to show the ActiveTarget screen along with the camera

There’s lots of saying but sometimes we have to power through them and figure out a way to temp a bite. Glad you liked it. More to come soon
Wind from the east the fish bite the least, wind from the west fishing is best .
@@oldpolak5203 That’s the one I heard

@@markhughes7273 When I see them on camera they are always huge, that’s for sure. You don’t hear a lot about them being caught here.
