Im in Minnesota and I use the Lebeau Touche and absolutely love it! It took me quite a few different types until I found one I liked the best for versatility and feel. I always enjoy watching your videos as I am sculpting here.
I swear that when you were applying the clay for the head that the mountainman blinked when it looked like you were going to stick your thumb in his eye.
I have watched a good many of your youtube videos. I started with the clay Pierre Ferault uses and went from a byst to a torso(with head) and mow a full unclothed figure. I started seeing issues with his clay and was intriwued by your wonderful details my main concern was drying and I am currently doing the full fugyre with the Chevant medium.
Soft NSP is what I'm using now .. It's made by Chavant.. My Uncle, who's a world renown sculptor.. used Chavant.. so when I started playing with clay in 65... I got some of that clay... loved the texture.
Which one..not shown in this video? If you're talking about TruForm Armatures... you may not be able to get them anymore... He's a sculptor and is very busy with his own commissions.. so he's not producing them at this time.. Actually for over a year
um, wow. Do Canadians say "sorry" as "sorey"? I heard that once before in the Outlast game and I thought that sounded so bizarre but maybe that's a Canadian thing like "aboot the hoos". ?
Hello Mr. David, I was looking theese days for a clay to use for modeling when I found your video. I was taking a close look to Chavant and I wanted to know what line of its may be best. I'm looking for a clay that is soft anough I can start working directly without heating too much, I like the feeling of being able to start wiith my hands and put forms right away, but that is not too soft I cannot get enough details out of it. Is this kind of plastiline clay good?, does it needs to reactivate once it's out for a while?.
You are incredible! Do you like to ever work in wax? I've wanted to try the Adam Beane wax...cx-5 stuff. But It looks very difficult to work. The Chavant seems like the best.
Have you ever used Super Sculpey? If so, what are your thoughts on it. Was also wondering which sculptors have inspired you and who's work you admire. As well as your work, Julian Khor's has also inspired, amazed and at times daunted me!
No I don't Carrie... I take the clay to a foundry where they make a rubber mold of the original clay and they they produce a Bronze through a very complicated process.. Look up Casting into bronze on TH-cam search... there are videos on it.. I tried resin once.. It was done by other people in Loveland Colorado.. I didn't do that... I never did it again .. because it's so impermanent...
What a joy to watch such quick movement and decision making forming and unforming the head. so many years of experience in those hands... thank you

I'd suggest get a block of Chavant's Clayette Soft... or medium.. or both to see what you like..

+C.E. SCHLINK Occasionally I work in wax. I get the wax from the foundry... It's a Crystalline wax.

+BRETT74022 That would take a novel... lol... Never used super sculpey...
Do you cast these to resin? If so would you be able to make a tutorial sometime in the future.

@@clayguy1 Okay, well Thank you. Bronze is very beautiful. Love your video.
Great video
Is there any way to harden it? What to do with the soft figure?
+Ayatanne Deox Lordless I cast them into bronze
It's stays malleable over time because it's oil based.
yep
You are a lad
