The Halo Infinite banished honour update has finally released, bringing a ton of new cross core coatings and some awesome Banished themed armour for us to dress our Spartans in!

Fuck this game, I am glad it was free & they likely took a major hit monetarily.
They likely didn't lose much money because there is always some braidrotted idiot who will buy these packs.
If no one bought these crappy microtransactions, then 343 wouldn't be doing It.
I really like that Brute Chieftain helmet and the shoulders in that bundle but there's no way I'm paying £40 to buy 5000 credits to give me enough to buy it.
Honestly since the launch of Infinite there's been a reasonable amount of stuff in the shop that I like, if it wasn't crazy overpriced or stuck in bundles I'd probably have been tempted by a lot more that I actually have.

I love that the platinum anniversary coating is finally crosscore, now all my weapons use that color and most of my vehicles too.
The lack of items in the store is pretty dumb. This update isn't really doing much, so why not update the store more.
There's still a ton of armour due to release, honestly kinda prefer the weekly releases
In MMC we have PVP challenges PVE challenges AND Campaign challenges. If 343 do the same thing in INFINITE it will be great for everyone, including THEM.
Hey MAGPIE LEON, I have noticed that they have made it available to purchase the Surgeon M7 Sniper model on its own in the store if you look it up in the weapons model section for 600c (credits) so maybe this is the start or a hint to purchasing individual items in the store.

I get the feeling that SP will be monetized sooner than later. It's just begging for a "here's a $2 booster for x2 SP for an hour"
I suspect so. The only possible reason for pricing a coating in the first batch of content at more than it's mathematically possible to earn during the operation is to piss people off at how slow the earn rate is. They're trying to prime us to spend our way around that.
It's crazy that in the first match of the day for me, there were 2 people who bought the bundle.

Anyway, I think I like there are 'no new things' for cosmetics as somehow I believe/hope that efforts and resources are shifting.
There are definitely more really cool cosmetics coming!
Goofy. The lack of store stuff this week is just a ploy, don’t be fooled. It’ll be full of stuff again soon. This is just a quick break so they can write off the backlash with “see? We didn’t fill the store with new stuff. We’re not greedy. Here’s an earnable in game shop”. It’s a manipulation tactic
I see four things that need to be done. #1 make every armor and weapon model separate to get. #2 add stuff from the store that we can earn in the exchange like any parts or weapon model. #3 Bring back credits into the operations. #4 make bundles cheaper way too overpriced.

It's irritating that the "54 Cross-core coatings" thing turned out to be a dud, as of the 54 coatings, 53 were just updating existing cross-core coatings for the cores and kits that didn't have them (mostly Boggart and Wendigo). The patch notes included only one coating which is now truly cross core, Cloaked Dagger, which is unreleased.

Plus helldivers armour directly affects stats where these are just purely cosmetic. And Helldivers does have premium warbonds which you do have to pay for from my understanding?
I'm not saying there shouldn't be more free stuff in infinite mind you, I've heavily advocated for it since launch.
@MAGPIELEON the premium currency in helldivers 2 is earnable, and also purchasable at a much fairer rate than Halo Infinite. One is paid, but pretty much one suit and a bit in Halo Infinite's shop = almost rhe full price of HD2. I've spent way more than I should have in Infinite and played since beta, but I'm seriously fed up with how predatory the game is. There really is no excuse to be made anymore with such a great example newly released.
@MAGPIELEON there is simply no world where the colour blue and a weapon tag is fair at the price of 5 USD lmao. That Era is sharply ending with new games being reasonable. Yeah I get that, but I also don't think it's entirely fair to compare items that are purely cosmetic and have absolutely no impact on gameplay
To a game that has cosmetics which DO affect your stats, meaning if they were all premium it would be pay to win. Armour on the store can be earned yes and that's great! But you do also have to pay for the warbonds and they can't be earned from gameplay (I think?) on top of the fact you already have to pay for the game
And that's completely fine, they're delivering on the live service so I'm fine paying for warbonds in HD2, But i also don't think it's the fairest thing to compare infinite to.
@MAGPIELEON you can earn premium currency in game to purchase warbonds. It's not a perfect comparison, sure, but I think my point is more there is no excuse for Halo Infinite to continue with this model. Too late now, but seeing how well something like HD2 works and how pro-player it is compared to another video game, it really goes to show how predatory infinite continues to be and was designed to be from the ground up.

Is it even possible to gain 30,000 Spartan Points during the current operation? And also, are you able to save your spartan points for the next exchange, or do they reset ounce the operation is over?

In the Index Delta videos we can see, 343 were working in to other coatings like Twitch drops coatings and this update shows us they maybe ready.
And 343 just don't put this in the final update for me was very disapoiting.

@H4L0GUY117 bro, Reach wasn't a LIVE SERVICE game. Plus, the sand box in Reach had variety of weapon types for the most part. Infinite has a plethora of precision weapons but barely any unique social gametype weapons. No fuel rod, plasma rifle, or even grenade launcher. The Bandit is the only new weapon they gave us in the 3 years since launch. Our complaints are pretty justified.

This game is utterly directionless. Its comical that people still think these updates will have campaign updates and all of this other stuff that is very clearly never, ever going to be introduced. There's no team at 343 working towards making them happen, nor anyone at 343 that cares about Infinite, or even Halo as a whole, for that matter. Expect to see exclusively store updates moving forward into the Halo 7 announcement cycle. Then expect Halo 7 to be a shit cyclone at launch with a soul-crushing amount of microtransactions, bugs, and missing content, as well as a redundant story as empty as it is poorly written. The player base will drop off after three weeks. The bugs will finally get patched around the six month mark. People will get blamed and fired and commentators will cover the news as if it'll change anything. A "big content update" will hit about a year in and the game will experience a spike in active players for three months because, "the new people on the job are fixing the game!" Then it'll go into a content slump. Then it'll be another steady trickle of store updates. There's your forecast for the next four or five years. Have fun.
Microsoft laid off pretty much all of the campaign team, that's why there's no campaign DLC and no multiplayer storyline anymore.
@MAGPIELEON There wouldn't have been one or the other either way. Infinite was supposed to be a bandaid for 5. 343 had to bring something to the table to meet quota, and this is what they dropped. It's filler. Only 343 could manage to fumble filler. It's obviously built to fund the development of Halo 7 (which should be 6), but it landed like an ODST with no legs and isn't generating anywhere near what it needs to fund future development, which is why there were layoffs. I don't think layoffs were severe enough. They should have lost their developer rights to the IP entirely. Only in today's market could a developer drop the ball this hard and not get dismantled completely by their publisher. They're probably only still around because of their heritage and because it would be more embarrassing for Microsoft to beach the ship rather than fire the crew. They've probably got a gun to their head right now. I'm betting right now that if 343 fumbles the next title, Microsoft pulls the licensing.

Man these changes are horrible all in all, even the exchange is a scam for your personal time. Weapons are constantly being changed, when they should be added instead of reworked or superfied. Passes are becoming less meaningful forces you into the exchange basically now or the store, oh how many more items from that could be thrown into the pass to make it more valuable.
Another disappointment of a “update” like one new btb map and boring king of the hill. Hey tho at least they made sure to add new crap to the online shop that they’ll charge 20$ and up. At this point it’s honestly so crazy how video games hav changed people would be hyped. Zombies. Halo 3 gears of war. My god I lived in te golden era of games cause right now only game I’m interested in is gta I just don’t understand how they only care about $ and not actual content like that just irks me how much they messed infinte up. I’ve given it so many opportunities and I’ve played it now 2 months straight no other games and it’s been so bad. When they bring out updates I think game modes. Guns things u can earn but instead they give u armor
I’m genuinely curious about people who are always complaining about the game … to you all actually play infinite ? If you don’t then what complain …if you do what’s does it matter what’s in the store ? It changes nothing
The prolem is the store seems to be the only thing that updates, despite the easy to fix issues this game has that are being completely neglected
On top of this, the prices are ridiculous. When theres no proper way to earn armour, its frustrating when armour that WAS SUPPOSED to be in in a battle pass, is being sold for so much. Its frustrating especially having bought the campaign, and being treated like an f2p player, not having any tangible reward to play for
