Awesome video. Thank you for sharing. You guys should put Kilimanjaro on your bucket list. We did it last year and it was absolutely amazing. We went with Undugu Safaris.
Awesome video! The lava shots are epic :) Do you have a comparable hike in the Rockies (or the PNW) that ranks similar in terms of difficulty? I'm trying to compare and figure how hard it might be haha
Thanks! One of the best experiences ever! I have done most of my hiking around the Canadian Rockies and Banff area and it was comparable to a lot of Rockies hikes over 1000m elevation. The initial hike to base camp was easier than expected. I personally struggled the second day for the summit hike at 4am, that was the hardest part in my opinion but it was also optional. If you have done a few hikes over 1000m-1200m then you will be able to achieve this!
love this!! going in January with some friends - wondering if its worth it to bring your own down jacket and fleece or if those were available to rent as well? the tour company we're booking with says they have gear to rent but not sure what that typically entails. just thinking ahead for packing - thanks!!
We did have our own which was nice! In saying that it was only because we were traveling for a long time and through different climates. If you’re just doing Guatemala or Central America, you won’t need either in general so I would leave it behind if you’re right for space! I found Lava Trails had a good selection of clothes, they want you to be set up for success :) I’m summary - if you have luggage space you can totally bring your own. If you’re tight on space, don’t worry as they should have it!
@@andrewdeans3113 they do it once you make it to camp so you know how much energy you have left! It’s a very in the moment decision, no pre booking needed!
Considering the environment you are hiking in and the effort required to get everything up the mountain, it was good! The lunch on day 1 was great, dinner was spaghetti which was simple but did the job and breakfast was good. It was nothing I'd rave about but we were satisfied :)
We just did a lot of research and spoke to people when we got to Antigua and decided to go with Lava Trails, there's plenty of good options around but we loved the cabins at the top which is why we chose them :)
I would recommend speaking to the companies directly! I did see kids on the trail but none as young as that, just chat with them and see if they are ok with younger kids coming and how they can make sure your both safe :)
This is awesome! I am doing this in November and I am super excited!
Good luck!!
I'm glad you had a good and safe experience hiking that volcano.
Me too, it was incredible!
Loved watching such an awesome vid. What a fabulous experience for you both 🥰

Love this! Out of interest what cameras did you use, especially for the close ups and night time pics/clips? ☺️
Everything was shot on my Iphone 13 Pro or Go Pro Hero 12. Night timelapse was the go pro and images were the phone on a tripod!
Awesome x 1000!!
ISNT IT!!
My partner and I are doing Lava Trails next week!
Do you organize the additional Fuego Hike there ? Or did you do it before

How was the food that lava trail provided?

Also, from base camps can we see lava coming out like a red flame?
Siiii
We could! Different companies have different base camps though so I can’t guarantee any of their views… Lava Trails was who we went with :)
one cuestion? did you had cellular service? internet service?
@@KarlaBatz-p2z we actually had some service but very week and unpredictable from memory!

Hi, I have 3 year old son. Do you think I can take him?
I would recommend speaking to the companies directly! I did see kids on the trail but none as young as that, just chat with them and see if they are ok with younger kids coming and how they can make sure your both safe :)
