My gut is telling me they will not sign another big money FA. I’m thinking they will look for another Bellinger scenario: an INF (preferably 1B) with 2-3 years left on a contract they can get with a trade/cash considerations.
Good talk. Like Jazz Chisholm at 3B. What about 1B? Good field (power hitting) Christian Walker? Go with oldster (LH bat), experienced fielding Carlos Santana (to coach Ben Rice)? Or...go for the Polar Beach to smash more HRs? What are your thoughts?
Santander, Bregman, Alonso, Walker one of these guys the yanks could go after i heard there's mutual interest between Santader and the Yankees. the bat is intriguing imagine the power and damage he could do at the stadium with that short porch in RF. i know his defense is the issue but the bat works at the stadium we need some pop.
The yankees are WAY better off without soto, especially for 800 million dollars and soto is only a 2 tool player. Yanks have gotten Fried, Wlliams, bellinger, as i belive they can go get another premuim bat like a bregman at third, or a alanso at first, and still have money over for the original 700 million plus they offered soto, the yankees dodged a big bullet with the soto contract. Soto will be another pujols type hitter, DHing by the time he is 30-32
@Patrick-o8l6m no S*hit Sherlock hah who did anything about one year?? Lol obviously. Should have clarified myself for smart a*ses like you in the comment section that just focus on dumb things like this, obviously no one is getting all that money for one year haha. Clearly when all the money is paid and contracts are up. Meant in general as a whole when it's all said and done and money is paid, it's still cheaper then just paying one player lol
@anonuser1 your part right because we won't know till after the season and what kind of season all these players will have. Offensively he hit what 288 with 40 plus homers and easily over 100 rbis?? So far offensively they got belli, he could potentially hit 30-35 homers maybe 75-85 rbis, playing way better defense then Soto as well with a stronger arm, not enough yet your right, if they can sign another bat like Bregman, potentially what, 25-30 homers, still playing great defense at 3B cannon for an arm, what another 75-85 RBIs, or even a P alanso if they wanted, that's what potentially 35-40 homers he can drive 100 easily I'm sure, with those 3 right there you can replace the 288 avg with Soto 40 plus homers, but your right we wont know till they actually do it. Not to mention on the pitching side they got waaaaay better. Seems like they gave up some some hitting for an elite closer and an all star type SP. If they sign alanso or Bregman I believe they are better on paper and potentially, but hell no not just with belli
They'll sign the best available over 30 like they do every year. Same story with same ending. I'd be shocked if they did anything creative or forward thinking
Wanna save money for Yankees ?? Keep Jazz at 3rd and Peraza at 2nd. Peraza dirt cheap and a gold glove waiting to happen. With good speed. And yes trade Stroman and save some of his money. Then they have enough for good 1st baseman
Marcus Stroman GOTTA GO!!!
They need at least one or two more bats.
I agree we gotta go out and get two more bats and we’re good . Preferably a 3rd baseman and 1st baseman
The Yankees are the best team in the AL. Who's better. I can't think of any other team.
Shermans logic is solid.
The Yankees have an opportunity to put together a championship roster.
💯
We definitely need another Bat!!!!

I agree

Josh Naylor and Steven Kwan trade.Rice is trade bait. All the big FAs has qualifying offers attached which effect DPs and international money.
No Alonzo. Stop chasing HR hitters and get fielders who also can hit the ball.

Let's say Martian can get 500 at bats, doubt they'll equal Soto. Not only that, his defense is probably on par with Soto's.

Absolutely
They did not offer that money for one year it’s over 15 years so the don’t have 800 million to spend this year lol

Yankees are not way better off w/o Soto. Soto is past tense. The brass is pivoting wisely so far to balance the roster.

Durbin was never playing 2nd base for The New York Yankees
Tanner SCOTT already Fellows
Get Burnes, Walker, Santander and Bregman.
Bregman is next
In order to use your closer you must be ahead. We don't have the lineup to get ahead.
💯👍
Still have time
