Albeit not yet done -I want to also say that Cashman has done a great job so far re-tooling the Yankees for 2025 - they definitely were not just talking when they said they would get after it this time!
Happy Holidays Cashman. Great job this winter with getting Max Fried, Devin Williams, Elmer Rodriguez Cruz and now Cody Bellinger. I can’t wait for the 2025 year. I can’t wait for Nathaniel Lowe 😊
Cashman has done great so far with getting 3 good Players at the Winter meeting acquisition. But if Cashman doesn’t get Alex Bergman or Christian Walker or Carlos Santana or Anthony Santander. It’s big mistake by Cashman not to finish the job of filling the holes. If he puts players from farm system for second and third base to save money.
Are you even a Yankee fan?? Yanks need left handed power with good OBP.. Bregman and Walker are righties.. Carlos Santana is almost freakin 40 yrs old.. You want the Yanks to sign 40 yr old players?? Santander is a worse fielder than Soto and barely has a .300 OBP. That's funny you telling Cashman what he should do when you don't even know what the Yankees need
It is nice to have a lineup thats not just soto and judge. Too many times our lineup missed opportunities cause it was just Soto and Judge. I think the upside to not have soto for the contract we offered gave us the option to add so much more than one hitter to our lineup. We were in desperate need of 1B/3B/OF/SP/Relievers
@ when he is healthy and when he is hitting well he is definitely a good bat. However, his slumps can last a while and he is on and off the field with injuries.
But if Cashman doesn’t get Alex Bergman or Christian Walker or Carlos Santana or Anthony Santander. It’s big mistake by Cashman, if he puts players from the farm system for second base and third base to save money.
Worst offseason in Yankee history. I'm not excited about a single player he's brought in. Check the playoff resume of these 3 players. Fried 2-5 5.10 era, Bellinger .211 batting average, Williams 23.14 era. Yeah we are on our way!
So far so good I feel…I think these players so far helps out a lot more then one person making almost 800 million they must add a solid 3rd basemen and I think there set they are by far the best team on paper in the AL
So far a very good off-season. 👍 One player who is a selfish hotdog 🌭 doesn't make a team. One more lefty power hitter and a second baseman and we are set as a team.
Juan Soto was the player who made me think, "Oh @#$%^! The Yankees can win a pennant with this guy and, if they get lucky and the chips fall their way, a World Series--#28!" Twelve months later and it's back to the 82-80 Yankees. Cole, Stanton, Captain Zer0... they're all one year older, two years older. The only way Stanton ever scores is on a home run otherwise he's constipation on the basepath. It's the same, old Cashman Yankees: eight designated hitters in the lineup at all times and, unfortunately, seven of them have to take a position in the field. All Rise!
Cashman's best non move in years was to lose out on Juan Soto. Without Soto the Yankees are already a better team. They have filled 3 critical positions with Fried, Williams, and Bellinger and look like they will fill 2 more if they sign Bregman and Walker. For the money Soto would have gotten they can sign and fill 5 critical positions with very, very good players. Soto was all hit, no field and no speed. We got of very lucky by losing Soto. He will be the next Bobby Bonilla for the NY Mets. He's already gained about 20 lbs and it's not even Christmas. Soto was helped by hitting in front of Aaron Judge, without Judge's protection he will not do as well.
that's what i've been sayin' not hatin' on him .... & soto hasn't hit 40 bombs or more until he's got to the yankees & in his contract year, a lot of players perform almost perfectly when it's their contract year then back to being good or ok ..... $800 mil for 1 outfielder player,i'd rather use that money for dominant pitchers & some decent hitters ... san fran giants won 3💍s with no big name hitters (except buster posey) ..... although, it's nice to have big name hitters but almost $800 mil for 1 player will cripple your franchise for a lot of years .....
Where is the question of “why Fried over Burnes?” Like Burnes has been electric, a work horse, plays well on big games, and seems to stay healthy. Cashman saying about Fried, “he’s about as sure of a bet as you can have for a long term deal” with a guy who’s missed significant time. I’m happy with Fried but just want to know why Fried was top of the board.
How many times we left the bases loaded in 2024?? I don't forget those moments. Did you forget the Yanks hitting stats in the WC?? I watched the Yankees win all of their Wc in the 90s. I am lucky... Those players never ever were so much focused on home runs. It was get on base and drive runs. Line drive after line drive will turn to HRs. I was a coach early on, I won mtiple championships. My secret sauce was to make the pither pitch 20 balls per batter. My players won the mental fight. We need a high level contact player, tough to get out, you can do a lot more damage with making a pitcher pich more balls than a home run. At this time, I am not confident that we can beat the Dodgers, unless we sign at least 2 bats. Take away Hernandez. You hit 2 birds with one stone. Go cashgod and get him. 3 years 66 mill
C@$4Spite the Muts and pay Pete for two yrs, and work on the bullpen. Ben needs more time, Jasson needs to show up to play or send him down. We have the fire power with Peter to take Yankees all the way. First place $$ home field Advantage, butt in seats
The Yankees continue to be a FLAWED team. So glad that Cash FINALLY recognized that they need a closer. But they CONTINUE to have a problem catching the ball and hitting the ball at SS,Secbase ,ThirdBase and Center Field. They just picked up a fading at best inconsistent hitter(Bellinger) and gave too many yrs to constantly injured Max.
Bellinger has picked it up and I think trending back upward at a bright young age of 29.. I’d really like to see first base addressed but I don’t see them investing in it with belli DJ and Cabrera on the roster
@OG1323 People love to criticize moves in a vacuum, what better outfielder were the Yankees bringing in once Tucker was off the board? A left-handed bat at that! Bellinger in Yankee Stadium is almost guaranteed to see a significant uptick offensively with Judge behind him. Check out Bellinger's OPS outside of Wrigley, it's nearly 100 points higher. Fading? He's 29, if he were say 34 you'd have a point. His contract is two years long max, their getting money back from the Cubs in the deal and they gave up virtually nothing for him. This was a no-brainer! Fried is left-handed which is always desirable in Yankee Stadium, and Burnes is likely going to cost a good amount more than Fried did. Snell, a lefty, also often injured and nearly 2 years older than Fried got 182 over 5 (36.4 per season). To get that per year amount down, the Yankees tacked on 3 years to a younger pitcher equaling 218 over 8 (27.25 per). That's nearly 10 mil less annually, which gives them more flexibility across the span of the contract to build a better team. The Yankees surely have been a flawed team for many years now, but these deals all help them address that problem. Bellinger brings a lefty bat, flexibility defensively and much punch to the lineup. Fried finally gives the Yankees a true #2 and another lefty arm. Cashman isn't perfect, but give credit where it's due.
