Hi, Fresno native here. Something you may not know about Yosemite falls is that during different times of the year at sunset, the falls will align with sun and it makes it look like the fall water is on fire. Truly an amazing sight to behold! Love your videos!
@@vanessathenavigator I never knew the falls had a name. I just thought it was on El Capitan. Thanks! I learned something! It’s so nice to hear how her friends are dying to come here because now I’m dying to see Austria!
Small correction! The "Ahwanee" labeled on the map is actually a hotel; the fanciest/most expensive one of the many you can stay in in the park actually. It also has a restaurant which is open to non-guests too. There is in fact also a Native American village, but it's located over by the museum. Sometimes the Ahwanechee people are in the museum demonstrating their arts and crafts or telling stories about their culture. You can find evidence of their inhabiting the land all over the park, such as divots in rocks where they would grind acorns into flour, a staple of their diet. So happy to see you cover Yosemite! It's one of my favourite places in the world and no matter what time of year or season, it's always magical. I recommend standing in the meadow in front of El Capitán and breathing in the valley... Oh and fun fact about bears. They're not just attracted to food, but anything that smells 'appetizing', so toothpaste, shampoo and cosmetics should also be kept in the bearproof lockers.
I'm so excited for this. I'd love to send you a Yellowstone one too! It's so interesting. also the reason the maps look that way is due to the national parks service who service each park. The nps also run a series of smaller parks and historical locations (like the original capital, Edgar Allen Poe home, and freedom hall among others). The NPS is one of the most important and easily invisible services that we have here in the US. The nps run the biggest classrooms in the us because each park is considered a learning and conservation environment
Oh yay! Another National Park video. I feel so spoiled! I adore the parks and hearing about them in your glorious voice is just the best. Thank you for your consistently excellent content.
John Muir*, Father of the National Parks and all-around legend, was Scottish. His birthplace in Dunbar is now a museum dedicated to his life and work. A long distance trail named after him starts there and ends in Helensburgh on the West coast. *you pronounced it correctly, in case you were wondering!
Yay! I have been looking forward to your next video. I travelled through Yosemite in 2019 and it is extremely beautiful, but can be very, very crowded. On our first night there, my friend and I drove hours from campground to campground only to find that each was full, and we gave up when the sun went down and we ended up sleeping in our van on the side of the road in the middle of the woods. It is was a wonderful experience overall, though!
-- Hello Melange! What a wonderfully relaxing video, as usual. Your voice always puts me in a trance-like state and if I don’t fall asleep before the end of this video, I will be lucky. 😊❤️
Yosemite is absolutely incredible! And Yosemite valley is also very crowded, or was when I was there. One of the must amazing places I have visited. Also, probably the most difficult hike I have ever done. Love your videos! Thanks!
Regarding the origin of Stanislaus... From the Stanislaus County Wikipedia entry: The county was named after the Estanislao River, which in turn was named in honor of Estanislao, a mission-educated renegade Native American chief who led a band of Native Americans in a series of battles against Mexican troops until finally being defeated by General Mariano Vallejo in 1826. Estanislao was his baptismal name, the Spanish name version after Saint Stanislaus the Martyr.
I keep trying to listen to this as I love when you cover a place I've actually been to, but you are putting me to sleep by about minute 7 hehehe ♥️ thank you
What I've been doing is, going through your videos, without falling asleep. I often have to try several nights to be able to not pass out while watching one. If I do, I try again! If I make it, I move on to the next one. I'm finally caught up.
I completely forgot to comment on this when it came out but I've finally remembered! I flew to the UK the other week and I waved out the window as we flew over Austria ^_^
I had no idea it's pronounced "Yo-Seh-Mitt-Ee". I've always just read it and assumed it was "Yoe-s-mite". Now I feel dumb ahah. I'm British, it's not really that well known here to be fair.
I was the same, it was watching videos that made me realise that maybe the phonetic way isn't the right way to pronounce it 😂😂 Although I'm British too, so who knows
Not so fun fact. William Mulholland, the engineer behind the Los Angels Aqueduct, proposed to build a dam and turn the Yosemite valley into a reservoir .

Bay Area here! I was just going to write that. It’s worth YouTubing it if you’re not in the area. The fire falls are incredible!
Isn’t that Horsetail falls?

I love how unique your filming is, its not everywhere you can find ASMR videos with a secondary camera with very soothing zoom ins, keep it up!
Yes! Is someone always doing the camerawork or is that edited on post? They are so quiet and helpful lol
@@Linzizzle18 i think they have an actual second person filming!

Very relaxing, I visited Yosemite almost 10 years ago so was some lovely nostalgia for me also. Thank you

As a native of that county, yes!
Was in Yosemite exactly a year ago. Beautiful
Oh Wow! I am SO happy! Perfect for a cold, windy and snowy day.😊
Very relaxing video. I would love to at some point visit the park. Can’t imagine many placers could have as much beauty. Great work ❤

No matter how old I get, whenever I read the word Yosemite, my brain always pronounces it ‘Yossy-Mite’ 😊
Thank you for this. I will not be able to unsee that😂😅

Check out Alex Hannold free solo El Capitan. It’s the most insane thing I’ve ever seen a human do.
