I grew up skiing at Cranmore mountain, the mountain with the skimobile. It is funny you mentioned it looks just like Austria because Cranmore Mountain was bought/established by an Austrian man named Hannes Schneider. He built the skimobile and was a world famous ski instructor. My mind was blown when I saw the picture of the old base lodge in the brochure. Thats the building my ski team used. Ive been through that door hundreds of times.
Yay!! I’m so excited to see you found these as interesting as I did. Thank you for putting them into a video. Your videos are always such a treat, but I think this may be my new favorite. (I may be a little biased) 😉 Thank you sooo much.
To hear one of my favorite ASMRtists, one who lives on a completely different continent, mention Crawford Notch where I worked and lived at a hiker hostel for two summers, is amazing. The White Mountains is a beautuful place. And yes, NH still obsesses over the Old Man of the Mountains, even though it collapsed over 20 years ago LOL
I just found this channel . It’s rare to get great ASMR along with great education about the world . Best of all she puts so much work and great detail in every video !
this is my home state as well! i love watching the map videos to get a taste of somewhere i've never been before but it was so nice to take a look at these old maps and know exactly where each picture was taken :) thanks for another great video!
The long line of people are skiers hiking up Tuckerman's Ravine. There is no ski lift on Mt Wash. Tuckerman's Ravine is a bowl and collects a high amount of snow per winter so in the spring and summer you can ski it. It's often very dangerous, deaths can happen.
Ahhhhhh my home state 😊 if you're at all into the outdoors, a trip up Mt Washington (whether hiking or by the auto road) should be a mandatory bucket list entry
Prior to this video the only thing I really understood about the White mountains was 1 that they were in Vermont and to that that is where the film White Christmas is set
Could you do more videos that are a bit more relatable for people outside of the US. I get that there a lot of viewers there but recently you have been posting a lot of map videos that are in the US. Just my opinion, love you stuff though, keep it up! ❤❤❤
"Outside the US" is a very broad term and New Zealand or Australia or South Africa (as examples of places Melange has done) are just as "unrelatable" for me as the US, in that regard... I find it to be rather the contrary that learning more about all these faraway places makes them more relatable.
@@beth12svist I actually agree with you. I would like there to be more videos outside of the US. Maybe relatable wasn't the right word to use. I rather meant for there to be more variety instead of a lot of US centric stuff. More map video's about places like china, japan, india, africa, etc. would be awesome and these are all places that I do not live. Maybe it's also a thing about the scope of the topic. I personally would prefer videos about countries, languages and continents over videos about regions, mountains, cities etc.
I've lived in NH for nearly 25 years, such a beautiful place 😍

Thank you Katie for sending these to Melange, I love the designs of old maps and brochures.

-- Wow! What a treasure trove of maps! “Live free or die” (New Hampshire state motto). 😊❤️
And there are sooooo many more 😍😍
Thank you for this peaceful and relaxing video. Tonight I'll be sleeping like a brown bear in the winter, thanks to you. 🐻😊❤
That sounds like the dream. Sleep well! 💖💖
@@MelangeASMR thank you, you too! Wishing you a long and relaxing sleep 😴
So happy to say I’ve been to NH and up mt Washington! Such a very beautiful place, I loved it - from a British tourist :)
Always a good night when Melange uploads a new video ❤ and these vintage maps are so cool!
A wonderful video you have warmth and caring sound when you talk
This was so relaxing and tingly. Thank you for yet another great video ❤

Wonderful and brain melting as always, great vid melange🫶
Your videos are always the best quality. Thank you for making these!
I hiked Mt Washington twice. So beautiful.
Very close to home for me. Stunning as always Melange.

Great maps! Katie sent some very interesting maps! Love!
This is great! Thank you for making this video.
I’m excited for this, I’ve lived in New England all my life so this is kinda cool. 😊
Perfect as always ❤
another great map reading you have a nice warm caring voice
Well. That proved a very good way to fall asleep; the result is I still don't know much about New Hampshire. 🙂 (Thank you!)
Never thought you would have maps of where I am
Honestly, me neither haha, but I love these surprises as the channel has grown.
Very relaxing asmr ❤
🥰
Very Nice and Relaxing video Thank You
Thanks! :)
I hiked the Franconia Ridge last Fall. Such a beautiful spot, the topography always stuns me as a native of New England (which is otherwise so flat).
The flat parts don’t count 🤣
Yay more Melange!
I just moved out of New Hampshire to Florida and I miss New Hampshire so much
Danke vielmals
Lovely- from an American living in England 💕
so nice xx

That’s about all we’re known for. When I stayed with family in VA, most people I met hadn’t even heard of NH
I wish I had some lovely old maps to mail you!
@12:10 25$ in 1943 is 438.39$ today.
Wow! So $25 was quite a lot of money back then.
@@robotlove3000 Yes. Inflation's a bitch.
“Melange” in Austrian means coffee mixed with some kind of milk or cream if I remember well
As a native New Hampshirite, I’m genuinely astounded that anyone is aware we exist. Most of the country has no idea we exist
It looks like such a nice place to go hiking tho! If I were in the US, I'd definitely come on vacation there.

I’m from nh!
Hi Melange, can you do a video on the Afrikaans language?
The sound is different.
Amuse
New Hampshire no way! Thank you
