I think the overall the strategy going forward is to have Xbox gaming in as many devices as possible just like windows is in every laptop and PC. As Nintendo switch user I'm looking forward to playing gears of war, halo and crackdown on the switch.
I’ve been saying this for years: Xbox is trying to transition into the Netflix of gaming. They don’t care what device you’re using, they just want you to subscribe to the service.
This is the final nail in the coffin for me when it comes to buying Xbox hardware/Game Pass. If I want to play any of their content moving forward it will either be on PC or PlayStation versions. Potentially the Switch 2 depending on how well they run. There probably won't even be a new Xbox console if this is how quickly they change things. Xbox players are 100% beta testers for PlayStation versions of games like Starfield.
Last Xbox game I bought was in 2011. Two day old console bricked itself during an update, took it back to Walmart, got a refund. Two weeks later got a email from Xbox stating there was an unexpected error during an update/ send console in for a replacement. I emailed them back a picture of the refund receipt. Never touched their stuff in any form since. This was after having two other Xbox 360s RRoD a few years earlier and saying I wouldn't buy anymore.

Playing the games I missed out on during that era (many xbox 360 games are not even compatible on current Xbox) And I find out there are two exclusive Naruto games on that system: Rise of a Ninja, & Broken Bond. If you can’t emulate 360 on PC. The only way to play those games is on Xbox 360. Adding more value to what was Xbox’s prime in the console market.

This is the final nail in the coffin for me when it comes to buying Xbox hardware/Game Pass. If I want to play any of their content moving forward it will either be on PC or PlayStation versions. Potentially the Switch 2 depending on how well they run. There probably won't even be a new Xbox console if this is how quickly they change things. Xbox players are 100% beta testers for PlayStation versions of games like Starfield.

Last Xbox game I bought was in 2011. Two day old console bricked itself during an update, took it back to Walmart, got a refund. Two weeks later got a email from Xbox stating there was an unexpected error during an update/ send console in for a replacement. I emailed them back a picture of the refund receipt. Never touched their stuff in any form since. This was after having two other Xbox 360s RRoD a few years earlier and saying I wouldn't buy anymore.

You know. I just went back playing the Xbox 360 the start of 2024. Playing the games I missed out on during that era (many xbox 360 games are not even compatible on current Xbox) And I find out there are two exclusive Naruto games on that system: Rise of a Ninja, & Broken Bond. If you can’t emulate 360 on PC. The only way to play those games is on Xbox 360. Adding more value to what was Xbox’s prime in the console market.

Microsoft only bought Bethesda because they were doing alot of deals with Sony to release their games on PlayStation 1st, the moment a rumor appeared about releasing Starfield on th PS 1st, Microsoft couldnt take it anymore.
Gamepass for me works. I don’t have a lot of time to play games anymore so it’s nice that I can play a lot of games whenever I want and only pay like $18 a month

We knew Xbox’s fate way back in 2013 and games like Starfailed and Redcrap further sealed that fate. Microsoft gave up years ago. I feel like they can come back full circle if they produce the content and they need to get rid of the negatives which includes Phil Spencer. If Microsoft truly wants to make a comeback then they need to cut out the weak links💯
I honestly feel like Microsoft is the one pushing this change they were probably expecting bigger sales/ profit/change after they bought all does publishers, and now Microsoft wants xbox to give them their money back.

I think the series X/S will be the last console made by Xbox . They will end up being a third party company just like Sega .
