I always wanted to pick up one of the Mini-Z EVO Brushless kit like you have there. Looks super nice and nice quality. Just an expensive hobby for such a small rc car lol. Theres a carpet track local to me where a bunch of people are always racing or running on the MIN-Z Track!

Classic kyosho, wheels intentionally don't fit other models and the pinion retaining bits are defective from the get go.
They haven't changed a bit.

You got an Audi R8 LMS Ultra to be exact. That's the GT3 version of the R8 and it is RWD ;)

To be honest, that nano is worth 50% more than my full sized 2006 F150 4 x 4 super crew. I only paid $700 cdn for it...running and driving.
These immediately reminded me of those older RC kits called XMODS from Radioshack, where swappable parts were near identical to this but have since been long gone though.
These look far more fun to play with especially with robust selection of upgrades!
Oh i was wondering what those was called, i thought they was zip zaps for a while but i guess those are different, i do remember seeing them back then they had a entire wall of those things and there was usually always at least a couple people near there looking at it.
Fun fact, these Mini Z models have been around a lot longer than the XMODS, being released in 1999 compared to 2003 for the XMODS (and dying off much faster). But, I used to own some of those little XMODS back in the day.
Dude I had a skyline gtr xmod when I was a kid and that thing was awesome, unfortunately I never had the money to mod it lol
Kyosho stuff usually tend to stick around for ever… I remember buying a MiniZ Viper on release day… so much fun still to this day

Put the gyro, ball diff on front & rear + alloy suspension setup then go for drift. That’s what awd or awd evo do. Btw, cool piano play!
I have a couple of the AWD ready sets with the brushed motors, they go quite good as is, I feel like the brushless would be way too fast. For sure the extra power could be useful for drifting but I find I have more than enough power to drift on most smooth surfaces pretty well and with radial tires you can roll it over on corners.
Just get the xspeed motor for more power. Don't need brushless
You need a one way front differential for your awd. Part of the issue is probably that the awd design has poor steering when you aren't on the throttle. The one way will fix that and also give you a hand brake effect when you brake. That's usually why the pros run RWD when racing as they don't suffer from this. 🤙love the vids

I do really agree. The thing is that there’s some new brands that as well performing so very good and brought out a variety of body’s on for instance that professional racing body from Audi R8 LMS. Kyosho together with Kopropo are still my favorite to go brand at 1/28 scale. This isn’t going to change as it hasn’t been in a while since 2002.
Yah Kyosho makes an amazing mini onroad car. The stock tires are a bit trash, but the precision is like a Swiss watch. I love em, and upgrading them. I've got one RWD LM that has more money in upgrades than the car cost by like 3x. I think I've spent close to 700 on that miniz but she drives like a dream.
Got to love the mini z pro models, lol do expensive do well worth it, that indoor track looks awesome, I can’t wait until I finish building my indoor race track..
I do want one of these and would pay the price it’s just a matter of finding somewhere appropriate or creating a suitable circuit in the house that’s the problem.
I ain’t buying a Kyosho track because they are expensive as hell even for a small setup.
If Kyosho was smart the would sell track at a hair above cost. That would blow this segment wide open imo and they would sell probably 10x the number of mini z.
If you want something close too the Kyosho Dnano you can look after the Siku racing 1:43 scale rc's not as fast & not quite the same scale but very nice little cars by the looks of them on youtube. They are discontinued as well but probably the best option besides finding a Dnano somewhere.
Ordered a wltoys k989 here myself earlier today for 500 sek or about 38£ worst case scenario ill use the electronics from that too revive my old mini-z mr01 or mini-z monster if i break it one way or another.

@@1rawdawg007 i have a budget of just less than £200 and ever since my friend bought a 1/10 crawler i have really wanted one. however, there isn't many places to use a 1/10 crawler and besides i've already got a traxxas slash 4x4 so i use that for bashing and speed runs. and so i wanted somthing i could use indoors while my slash isn't working or if the weather is really bad. also i agree. rc does rock!

Best way to practice mini z, remember when I use to run this class and then went and dive my 1/10 on on road on the track it seems slow and so relaxed even it whas a race car

Just bought my first RC a RedCat Volcano EXP Pro, as well as EVERY aluminum upgrade! Super excited, very nervous though as I have no idea what I'm doing lol bought the aluminum chassis so I guess the first step is take it all off the plastic one?

The mini & micro rc cars are pretty amazing. I have a collection of some real rare micro's such as the Keyence Mad Tune and Realdrive 1:43 and would like some d nanos.

Technically both the R8 and Dodge Challenger can be purchased in a RWD or AWD configuration. Not sure why Kyosho decided one was AWD and the other was RWD is a mystery along with why they decided the wheels would not be interchangeable between RWD and AWD models. Just like the Huracan can be purchased at a 610-4/640-4 or 580-2/620-2 configurations. Why would anyone want less power and RWD is a mystery.

hey kev great video, i just myself got the two mini z brushless awd and rwd, protek has wire harnesses to convert to mini lipos, 2 cell, it’s easy to put on and it rips

I don't know about AAA's but you can get AA lipos 1.5v on Banggood, they are great and the 3.7 which I use in a tiny but mega torch!
