Yup, defeated by one Vote; John McCain's. It was odd because Trump never gave one single detail of his "better" healthcare plan - which of course; didn't exist.

I've naturally been a liberal for virtually all the 50 years of life I can recall, but I always liked and respected John McCain.
He could have walked out of that Viet Cong torture chamber any time he chose but he refused to leave before any POW who had been there longer than himself.
He stayed for over 5 years. That took more dedication and courage than I could have ever managed.
It was heroic, which made John McCain a genuine hero.
John - Salute - Salute - show how a leader acts - as when you refused early release from our enemies until all your men were released. Yes - this is how a leader conducts himself. Salute.
McCain understood that humility is also a leadership trait, you can’t always win and you won’t always be right.
If there was only one reason to despise Donald Trump it is his pitiful attempt to belittle a human like John McCain. Senator McCain is a member of the group I am proud to be the same species as. 👏

Senator John McCain was the polar opposite of corrupt tv executive and failed businessman Donald Trump. He stood for decency and served his country with honor. He was a hero. Trump was jealous and intimidated and had to do the only thing he knew how to do, lie and attack. Bad mouth the man he could never be.

I'm not an American and I don't belong on the Republican spectrum, but this is, imho, a prime example of the personal conduct of a true statesman! I'm defeated in this political battle, but it's in the best interest of The Nation that I now help out my opponent in any way I can. It shows a big heart and care for the nation and it's people, admirable! I'm sure many republicans miss you these days John, as an outsider I'd trade your stability and ethics for Mr T any day of the week.

John McCain, like all men, was an imperfect man.. But he reminded all of us what was possible in this imperfect world we live in.. Did he make mistakes? Absolutely.. We ALL do.. But his love of his country and his sacrifices for our nation are without question.. I grew up admiring this man, and still admire him and his memory to this day!!! John McCain was truly a man of the people.. Truly the VERY BEST of US.. A TRUE PATRIOT, unlike some of those who claim to be these days!!! May his legacy be this - It is OK to disagree, but let us 'agree to disagree' - even in heated exchanges - but at the end of the day respect each other's opinions, learn from each other, and find common ground together and move forward together..

What is sad is that DJT would not understand a word of what was said by a true Hero.
This man was a great man, and a great politician. He might have made some questionable decisions on his watch, but sometimes tough decisions are made that seem bad for the country but further investigation could prove that the decision was made to promote a larger goal that would be great for the country. I don't think John McCain would have told outright lies in the way that Trump did. I think he would have been an honorable president.
When McCain died, so did along with him, the Republican party’s honor.
