Larry Carlton Quartet - Room 335

30th May 2014 The Tivoli, Fortitude Valley - Larry's having a bit of a laugh with the audience here saying that he's been accused of ripping off Steely Dan's song Peg. Even if it was true I think Don Fagen and Walter Becker would say - Ah its only Larry, we'll give him that one - ha ha ha . Thanks to Larry & Co for a great show and hope to see you back in Australia soon.
To my international subscribers just a short note on the venue The Tivoli. If you ever come to Australia and find yourself in Brisbane looking for some live music check out and see what's on at The Tivoli. Out of all the venues in Brisbane to see live music this (The Tivoli) would be the best sounding room of them all, even Larry Carlton said " What a beautiful room this is".

LOL! That sounds just like Peg one octave lower but hey when you say Steely Dan you automatically think of Larry - Best guitarist soloist Steely Dan ever had! :)

He doesn't solo with the intensity of the original studio cut and some of his earlier live recordings, but of course he is getting older. This is to me, one of the all time classics for people like me that enjoy hot electric guitar.
