Also the fact that the main characters have very cartoony, exagerated features, and huge eyes but simon cowel is so realistic. Looking at the gang and a realistic simon sitting next to eachother is soooo weird-looking.
At least when Simon Cowell appeared in the Far Far Away Idol short in home media releases of Shrek 2 (2004), it made sense for him to look realistic as most humans in the Shrek movies are pseudo-realistic.

@Mom I also saw one he missed. This movie takes place in 2020 America. The date he showed on screen was March, 2020 and this is presumably not too long after that, like in the present. Nobody is social distancing or wearing masks. Now in much of the country, people aren't doing that. But THAT'S a sin.

A sad story:
The current voice actress for Daphne (in the cartoons not this movie) were really best friends with the Daphne V.A. before her. So when she passed away, the crew suggested that the current VA should take her role.

That would be due to film & TV producers thinking we're so braindead we can't enjoy anything without a celebrity. Personally, when I hear the 'C' word I tune out. I miss the days when great voice actors did the job properly & movies didn't need to nudge, nudge, wink, wink an 'in joke' or call back to previous history. Or worse, the so-called 'Easter Eggs' they put in coz they can't write clever & funny stories anymore.
@@gentblue Not all of them. Frank Welker is still alive, and still voicing Fred in every animated appearance of his EXCEPT for this movie for some reason, despite him voicing Scooby in this one as he's done for years now.
Shaggy's original voice actor, Casey Kasem, died several years ago, but most of Shaggy's animated appearances since Casey had to stop performing have been done by actors way more accurate than whoever did Shaggy in this one. Shaggy has always been my favorite of the crew, so I especially hate how bad he sounds in this movie.

Spotify actually lets you place individual playlists on your homescreen, so Shaggy having them on his phone isn't a sin. The real sin is having an entire page filled with playlists rather than just opening the app.
Ok so, THE ENTIRE point of Mystery Inc has always been proving that supervillains claiming supernatural crap are ALWAYS full of said crap.
HOWEVER, this entire movie revolves around an supernatural thing that is not only ACTUALLY supernatural but ALSO COMPLETELY NONSENSE.
This movie butchered my childhood so y’all are going to hear me rant about it
1: The replaces the nostalgic old voices with modern celebrities so the movie would get more clout
2: They TRIED making it nostalgic by throwing in random characters from the old show but instead just showed us that none of the producers even watched the TV series
3: The entire plot starts with Simon Cowl

4. The plot itself doesn’t making any sense and the small minded characters make it even worse
5. They’ve sucked all the character development out of everyone single one of the mystery gang and made them product placing zombies
No Simon Cowell is always good. He should've been the main antagonist and the Dastardly guy should've been the true investor lol. XD

2020 has literally sucked every fiber of life out of me and yet another animated Scooby Doo somehow puts another nail in my mental coffin
...as if the fact that right before this last year they made Return to Zombie Island, which had already murdered (retroactively) the coolest movie in the franchise *AND* that one sequel to the 13 Ghosts TV show didn't already drive that nail further down.
To quote the great reviewer Schafrillas describing Frozen 2, "This is Scooby Doo *forever."*

Well, just because it's metal doesn't make it real (as in proper functional) armor. Also, the team probably went off the fact that Fred's parents are rich in most versions of Scooby Doo, sooo... his parents. The answer is his parents, Jeremy.
But.. but there was only one scooby universe where Fred's parents were canonically rich, actually, im pretty sure there was only one scooby universe that even had his parents in it period. Other than that one movie about pirate ships. Just an observation there.

I kind of liked the idea of a Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe, although this idea probably wasn’t the best way to start.

Ok, I don't hate this movie, but I'm not lying when I say that I've seen way better fanfics.
Like most movies these days.
My biggest sin is that this isn't even a Scooby-Doo story. I get the feeling WB originally made a superhero film and were afraid that it wouldn't appeal or be marketable enough, so they slapped Mystery Inc on there. If you remove all the scenes with Mystery Inc and made blue falcon and his sidekicks the central characters, the film is basically the same. Another thing that annoys me is that they didn't understand the heart of Scooby-Doo or what made the original cartoon so fun and special. There's literally no excuse when 2 live action films from 18 years ago understood this.
There were only two good things about this movie: 1. The nostalgic callbacks (even though I'm a casual viewer of Scooby Doo in comparison to others) 2. It was a movie I was able to bond over with my dad, even if it was via text/snyched watching since we were on the opposite sides of the US from each other
That's the best part, bonding with your father. I've got nostalgia callbacks with Scooby-Doo also.
And many other things.
6:12 - this reminds me of a bowling alley I went to when I was young and how the menu there had several kinds of pizza, and which also had both mushroom and veggie like shown here. I'm not sure what's on the veggie here and how many more toppings there are than the mushroom, but the veggie I remember had mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. I remember wondering why there weren't olives too since that's usually the 4th topping on veggie pizza

Velma has always been an intellectual, and more recent depictions of her has had her show no interest in nerd culture because she has always been the studious type. Not like having glasses meant she had to like stuff such as D&D, superheroes, etc.

I’m pretty sure the Simon Cowell cameo was intentionally outdated. The Scooby Doo show was known to have guest stars that were extremely dated and kids would hardly recognize.

That was only the hour-long show, and I definitely knew who Batman, Robin, Joker and Penguin were. In fact, I knew who the Three Stooges were. I'm fairly certain I recognized the other guest stars too.
You give this movie too much credit. It’s not that deep.

The Alexander the Great being the door keep for the underworld was more or less negotiated when Alexander went to said underworld and basically made deals to see hades then out bargained hades for some reason (yes I know there are multiple versions of the story but that is my favourite cuz it means u can talk hades into hiring you for no reason)

Why is it so hard to do a Scooby Doo movie that's just a Scooby Doo story?
Some Executive: "When people go to a Scooby Doo movie based on the Scooby Doo brand they don't want to see to see a Scooby Doo movie based on any Scooby Doo series, they want to see [some dumb idea]." What is this, Warner Bros... yeah, I know this is Warner Bros but they've been pulling this crap for 20 years now and I'm getting sick of it. I think I blame Space Jam?
IMO Warner Bros thinks that it's a business strategy to give fans the exact opposite of what they are expecting.
Just look at their movies. It's like literally against any predictions fans might have.

This movie gets a whole lot funnier when you know that Blue Falcon is slang for "Buddy Fucker" (as in one who screws over his friends).
