The minute I saw the title I immediately thought: "They can sin this movie all they want but if they don't take a sin off for Matthew Lillard I will riot"... they made the correct decision...
He got a sin off in the first one, too. Say what you will about these movies but Lillard absolutely nailed it in both.

The most impressive thing about this movie is that they found and cast someone who was actually kinda sorta resembling Shaggy as Shaggy
He voiced shaggy in many of the animated movies as well and a version of the show. He really did a good shaggy in my opinion i wish they had him in the Scoob movie
@@Austynrox Knowing he wasn't Shaggy in Scoob immediately killed my want of seeing it. Even he was surprised when he found out he wasn't cast for the role when production started on it, and that's just sad.
ThatDudeWithBoobs it was good but it did kill shaggy for me. He just seemed to have to whiny of a voice for me to like him. But it was a good movie still in my opinion
AustynRox Scoob was really good considering none of the O.G. voice actors where in it except for Frank Welker who voiced scooby.
Zachary Alger yes it was. I think they all did good job as their character especially Mark Wahlburg and Zac Efron but I didn’t really like shaggy just couldnt get over the voice
When my daughter was little she asked me how they got Scooby to act in this movie. I told her Scooby snacks. She nodded approvingly and said "Of Course!" : ) She totally believed Scooby was real.

he was underused in this one, but it may well have been by necessity, he was causing permanent damage to his vocal cords with the voice he was doing for Shaggy, they may have held him back to avoid causing his to have to drop out

I don't think that Zombie Island was a good Scooby movie FOR THAT REASON, though. HEAR ME OUT: It's not a bad movie, it's just that it misses the point of a Scooby Doo movie, which is that the real monster was actually a human. Even in Cyberchase and Alien Invaders, they got that the true villain was just a human. I've done entire research papers on this. The underlying message of Scooby Doo is that, beneath the literal or figurative mask, mankind was the true source of evil, which is a very mature theme for a kids' show, but one that has been around from the very beginning of Scooby Doo. Attempts to make Scooby Doo "dark" and "edgy" by making the villain at the end a literal monster, like a zombie or a witch, undermines the moral and pins the darkness on imaginary creations so that we can pretend "thank goodness those don't exist in the real world". Losing the point of the original series is where so many children's series-turned-live action movies mess up. As someone who plans on going into film, this is a very important topic to me and one that I am very passionate about, so if you want to discuss this with me further, please do. I would love to discuss this in more depth.

I love how scooby doo is multi generational, so many iterations, shows and movies. It’s just cool how I grew up on scooby doo in the late 90s/ early 2000s, but so did ppl as early as the 60s grew up on it.

Cinema Sins: The versions of Scooby Doo with real ghosts and monsters have always been the least appealing.

At least two of those episodes in that series legit gave me nightmares. While it wasn’t the series finale I was still weirded out by how intense that series is.
Professor Paracles was actually really scary. Best Scooby Doo show EVER. My favorite episode was season two episode nine which was called “night terrors” it was at this creepy library and it was just very creative and referenced the Shining which was cool.
I used the “Tug on my chew toy” and it worked like a charm...... Granted I paid her $120 to do it lol.

Why did this video make me love this movie even more? It’s already one of my favorites, silly as it is. I know the script by heart. And somehow pointing out the absurdities a la Cinemasins just makes me love it even more. And Matthew deserved that sin off, don’t feel bad. He’s a gd treasure.
you've actually got a sense of proportion about shit and can take potential criticism about something without getting unrealistically upset about it, and seemingly taking it personally when it's got fuck all to do with you.
unlike dozens of people in the comments seemingly that went "cinema sins made a video where he criticized a movie, how DARE he do that!" despite also being seemingly aware of his work beforehand, as that is LITERALLY the point of the channel. it being a movie you like does not utterly invalidate what the entire channel is about.
apparently every majorly popular movie is totally up for grabs, but not this fucking movie because they've got feels about it.

They actually explain why Daphne can fight in the first movie. She got tired of being the damsel in distress so while they were shortly broken up she took martial arts classes and that’s why she can fight in the second movie
They explain a lot of things that CinemaSins pretends are plotholes. For instance, the whole "where did they get the frying pans" bit at the beginning. In the movie, there's an establishing shot right before the footage CS uses that shows them about to go through what looks like an omelet bar. They could still make a sin out of why there's an omelet bar at an evening function, or why we don't see more pans than Shaggy and Scooby use. Instead, despite both characters using pans, they make up some shit about Scooby using a bowl (which he doesn't). My guess is they did this because they wanted a sin here, yet couldn't tell if it was an omelet bar or not. They're calling out movies for lack of creativity when they themselves lack the creativity to find a more workable sin for the scene.
I know your comment is old, and this is a long reply. But as a fan of CinemaSins, this bugs me. They can do better. When they don't, I assume it's because they chose not to.
Of course just take a few lessons and you can beat up men twice your size.

Zombie Island came out when I was 1 and I watched it when I was 4 or 5. It was my first real monster scooby doo movie. It scared the crap outta me, and those voodoo dolls absolutely freaked me the hell out because I thought it was a real thing

I remember that my grandma had a whole museums worth of Scooby Doo vhs tapes, and I would watch ALL of them, watching this brings back a lot of memories

I liked Monsters Unleashed fore than the first film as a kid, and I still do now. It just feels more like a proper Scooby-Doo movie, with one of Mystery Inc's old foes coming for revenge and forcing them to revisit their past by fighting old monsters and remembering how and why they do what they do.

When I was like 5, I was legitimately terrified of this movie, and thought these monsters were going to pop out of nowhere for a solid 18 months. Now, almost ten years later, I look back, cringe at how bad the cgi is, and wonder why I ever thought this was scary

Oh for sure! This one always felt more like a proper Scooby-Doo film to me. It pays tribute to the source material while also telling it's own story within the context of the Scooby-verse.

It definitely is but the cyber one was my favorite as a kid.
It was so popular they made a return to it which came out not to long ago. But after zombie island cyber chase comes close second. And third is hard to choose between the one with the hex girls or the one where scooby and shaggy become teachers for Dracula, wolf-man, Frankenstein and the mummys kids

The Skeleton Duo was my favorite thing in this movie, just for the scene where they're all racing down the mountain, one hits the other into a sled shape and they shout "Banzai!"
