KOF XIII: Athena combo tutorial - Athena the Psychic-Powered Idol.

- If you don't like looking at or hearing Athena's "Shining Crystal Bit" super, then you might get a little upset. I decided to use it after most of her combos because I became hooked on it.
To be honest, you don't need to use it as a combo ender all the time, you can use Psycho Sword (DP+p) instead to end at least 70% of the combos in this video (If not all).
I'm glad that Athena is back to her old self in this game. After XII I didn't have much hope, but she seems complete in this and is very fast with it. Using her teleport in a Drive-Cancel combo is a good way of pushing your opponent into the corner where she can inflict massive amounts damage.
She can do good damage out of the corner to, but its easier in the corner.
Athena is very good. Her pokes don't have much reach, but she doesn't really need it when you consider her teleport and qcb+p (fireball)

I swear this game makes my brain fart hard. I'm having troubles connecting a jump+D to std+C... Anyone have any tips on how to get better at this game? And yes Practice Practice Practice, I'm doing that every day.

Great to see Athena's true potential:) She's so under-used by so many. Doesn't make too much sense, as she has great tools all around. Makes me kinda sad, lol. Almost wanna main her again, after moving on to people like Leona since 96 or so...
@Azmodeus87 Yeah, I found it out later. She's been 18 years old since 95. Since then; even though the year changes it doesn't seem to affect anyone age wise. I guess that's why they roman numerals, since the years didn't actually matter in the end.

@EMPER0RC0W Naaa, the teleport doesn't hit. He's just cancelling a Psycho-sword into Teleport REALLY fast, before she leaves the ground.

Sweet man I remember that I was playing her on 12 and I did little but not alot of combos like this one, and I stopped playing 12 for a while for its a huge disappointment. And 13 is here atlast and my fav team is back. When it comes out ill resume training again :D

Nice, Athena has been among my mains in all KOFs and she has always been a really great character (and Athena 2002 was just broken) its nice to see that she is still a great character, i drop her from my main team in favor of Yuri, but i might use Athena on my second team, thanks for the video BTW.
