To anyone that doesn't know, buy meat in bulk, portion them up and freeze them, life saver when meal prepping at the beginning of the week, take them out the morning of to thaw or put them in the fridge the night before to thaw and it will be ready by dinner time, definitely look up some tips for cutting and stuff it could help a lot, I know a way to cut onions so they don't make you cry, it's hard to explain but it works 98 percent of the time if it's a pretty juicy onion it'll be harder to escape it lol, I hope this helps out some people at least 💞
When I started eating healthier, I didn’t LOVE the taste of some of the things because I wasn’t used to it. BUT your tastebuds change every two weeks so stick with it for two weeks and you’ll start to actually love the things you’re making!
omg pleaseee do cook with you videos because im also 20 still living with my parents and am still new to cooking but i feel like watching you learn can motivate myself and others!
If you want to make sure the meat is cooked all the way through, get a meat thermometer. It is so much easier! not only to check the meat but to check other foods as well, it helped me a bunch when I first started learning how to cook.
What keeps me going in life is knowing that emma will be moving in jan and I am looking forward to the moving vlogs, her living alone and vlogging her own life, decorating series, and just navigating her life alone so much content coming!!!
i love cottage cheese! there are so many different recipe's you can make with it and if you mix it with different things, you cant even taste it. it is also super high in protien!
since you said you love snacking, some of my favorite minimally processed and whole food snacks are: pitted dates & natural peanut butter, apples & natural peanut butter, light string cheese sticks, pretzels and/or carrots & hummus, and lesser evil popcorn!! all are filling and nutritious, and should keep you fuller for longer!!
meal suggestion- you can make unstuffed peppers! it’s essentially the same but chopped up peppers and meat all mixed in a casserole dish! i like it better then stuffed peppers cause sometimes i feel like the full peppers are a little overpowering
You can try roasted asparagus. Put some oil, add your favorite seasonings (I usually do garlic, lemon pepper and a sprinkle of salt) and when they are almost done add some Parmesan cheese. You can usually do that recipe with any other veggies as well.
You should try kale chips! You buy raw kale and then air fry or bake it in the oven with garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, any seasonings you like! It crisps up like a chip and tastes soooo good and good for you!!
roasted cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes or any vegetable is delicious ! I’ll make them for my friends who don’t like vegetables and they love it. It’s so so good to throw into salads or in a bowl
I love eating salads to include more veggies into my diet it’s great for your microbiome, also cooking with more seasonal veggies/ fruits for example butternut squash, apples etc. if your not used to eating that trust me your taste buds will adjust, I grew up eating process food but I now eat as healthy as I can. ☺️
better try and live there as long as you can. I always wanted to leave and when I did, I found out quick how real it's out side the nest. I wished I stayed to save more forsure
love seeing this as a college student to get inspiration for my own cooking!! as someone who likes cooking, i promise that you get faster at it over time and start coming up with ideas more :) good luck!🩷🩷
to make your yogurt bowls more versatile i'd say you could try some sliced almonds or walnuts/pecans in it to add a bit of crunch & more nutients(: & when planning to consciously eat healthier i'd recommend making sure you have some form of protein in each meal (: also a recommendation for your avocado toast you could make hardboiled eggs if you like eggs & then shred them up & add the shredded egg on top. i normally like to fry my egg when i do avocado toast but frying isn't always the best option every time because it's not the healthiest so finding different ways to make the same foods helps keep things tasty without it feeling too repetitive & it's better for you. also, you mentioned being a snacker & a snack i really fell in love with was mixing berries together & then adding honey on top. it's so good! you could also make your own acai bowls & get super creative with those. any foods with omega 3s are really good to add into your meals or snacking as well. i find that taking control of what you eat makes things more fun & enjoyable because you can be so creative & versatile with it(: & it almost makes eating that much more enjoyable as a whole because you know what you're putting into your body is healthy & delicious 😋 & it makes you feel better overall. i am wishing you the best on this new journey & i hope it makes life that much more fulfilling 😊
If you ever don’t want to buy organic bc it’s soo expensive you can clean your fruit and veggies using baking soda and water. It helps reduce the amount of pesticides still on your food! Aldi is actually the best ever. I reccomend their organic bone broth. It’s so good for healing your gut and it’s the cheapest place to get some. Also if you need something easy they have cheap canned chicken and tuna 😭
My essentials are bread, milk, eggs, cheese, juice, sandwich spreads, tomato, lettuce, onions, potatoes, pasta, beef mince and chicken breasts. Any money leftover is used for extra things like another vegetable or meat, or snacks.
Cilantro lime chicken with avocado salsa is one of my all time favorite meals! It does have tomatoes, which I hate as well, but the flavor with the rest of the salsa is so yummy! I serve mine with corn and rice
Emma!! I have a suggestion for breakfast food since breakfast is your fav... "Strong Roots Cauliflower Hash Browns" the ingredients are clean and they're sooo good and take no time to cook🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love making “burger bowls” for lunch. I usually sub ground turkey in for beef since its healthier! I make a pound of it up and it can be my lunch for 2-3 days! Just put in lettuce, tomato, or whatever else veggie you want. Even seasoned diced sweet potatoes are so good in it too! Its healthy and so good. I make homemade big mac sauce on top.
What other food meals do you like that way we can give you recommendations? They have protein pasta if your a pasta person. They have mini peppers that you can use for hummus or other dips. Cheese boards are an option. Also, give cottage cheese a try, if you blend it it makes it smooth and then you can add dip powder. Better alternative than sour cream
A suggestion for something good to make would be the viral tiktok cucumber and sweet pepper salad. It’s soooo good and if you like peppers and cucumbers you should like that. It’s super quick and easy to make. It’s been added to my little recipe book.
My easy go to is tacos because they are super easy to cook as well as enchiladas. I’m trying to step back from processed foods as well as a 27 yr old who’s eaten that kind of food most of her life it’s time for a change especially now since I’m getting married soon and we both want to start eating healther it’s doesn’t help that I’m afraid of a lot of foods. So I understand you completely with not liking veggies. You got this, I believe in you. Also you should do a what I eat in a day with everything you got.
Turkey is good, make turkey burgers, turkey lasagna, chicken stir fry, chicken with a sauce and rice, spaghetti. Eggs. I love cooking, I have done all the cooking in our house for years
I am soosososososoosossoos proud of you emma you hav no idea this is such a ig step for you!!!! its going to be hard and its okay to have set backs but keep going. ILYSM
i have no idea how organic these are but the brown n serve original breakfast sausage links are my absolute FAVORITE breakfast food. i also love having oatmeal and using whole milk instead of water, for breakfast 😁
Emma when you shop for Produce PLEASE PLEASE thoroughly check them... Strawberries ESPECIALLY can easily be moldy on the bottoms. I worked Produce and maaannn so many come in nasty, and even not working produce now , I come across way too many bad produce out there.... please please check them more .
Aldi gang for life!! 🤭 I swear, our Aldi sells RAO’S pasta sauce & has such a bomb cheese selection!! Def worth a try next time instead of stopping at Publix to save that coin
Snacks I like at aldi are all their cheeses especially aged white cheddar. I haven't been able to find many unprocessed snacks. You can make homemade Popsicles or smoothies with fruit punch protein powder. I have baked fruit in the oven. Sometimes I will eat oikos yogurt or frozen grapes at night if I have a craving.
I usually never comment on things, but it’s sad to see so many random, judgmental comments. It’s her choice to film or not film her boyfriend, cook what she wants, buy what she wants etc. I don’t understand why people care so much! We choose to watch her. Anyway, love the video Emma!
i completely agreee! it is her life & her choice. if people don't truly enjoy her content they simply don't have to watch or make comments, it's that simple. her choices don't affect me & i don't get why others take them so personally. let's let people live & enjoy themselves. she's always been so kind, sweet, & down-to-earth it's so sad to see people dragging on her
Great video , I love shopping at aldi's some food are cheap . You can do green beans in a can with some can of sliced or full size potato and take some sausage chop it up and mix it cook it , good meal . Yes I need go on a diet too . Love u Emma
Great video!! If you have a local butcher you can get good quality meat. Where my parents live they have a Mennonite market & we get our meat there & it’s so much better (quality & taste) than the meat you purchase at a supermarket. They even sell dairy & in season produce. I also freeze any leftovers so food doesn’t go to waste. Then I can pull it out when I don’t feel like cooking. Also, flat bread is really good to use for Avocado Toast.
For the potatoes you can cut them in cubes and drizzle oil and rosemary with other seasonings and roast them on the stove or oven for rosemary potatoes for breakfast w sausage and eggs etc
Emma i love this for u! im a sophomore in college and ive recently been grocery shopping and cooking for myself. it was kinda overwhelming at first but once u find foods that u like to eat it’s easy to make meals from that
As much as I am surprised you never cooked dinner at home at 20, I am so proud of you for doing it and succeeding at the first try too. To many more Emma, cooking is so fun and much more healthier than eating out.
I love your videos ! i i loved this vlog. I personally would like to see more grocery shopping and haul videos especially since you said you plain on moving in 2025. I love your content , Emma ! You look so happy with your man and I'm happy to see that.
Hi Emma I'm glad you're going to try to eat healthier I tried to because I'm diabetic I never used to eat healthy now I do and I learned how to cook I did all that when my wife was alive 4 years ago and you don't like tomatoes how about cherry tomatoes on your lettuce salad 🥗 and do you like pickles like cucumbers I have never been a trader Joe's I don't think they have one here in Michigan thanks for sharing this video Emma I really appreciate it you have a blessed night from Terry
Wait they had the mini tote bags at Trader Joe's?!?!?!? OMG!!! The mini totes were released on Wednesday and my store (I live in NYC) sold out of them in the first 10 minutes even though there was a limit of 4 per person 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 I wish you got the mini bag because the large one is always available
Stuffed peppers are yum. If you like cauliflower rice try that instead of rice and it's really good too.. when I make mine like that no one knows the difference
Love how you’re trying to eat more healthy! I noticed you’re wasting yogart and fruit with it my biggest tip for you is get frozen fruit for your yogart bowls and put granola and mini chocolate chips you don’t even need honey! Give it a try I’m telling you so good!!
You could have gotten everything you bought at Aldi fur so much cheaper! Trader Joe’s is great for specialty items but what you got there you could have gluten at Aldi fur probably cheaper. And avoid public’s at all costs, they are way too overpriced!
I for some reason never knew you had your own channel! I have been watching your family channel for the longest. I’m subscribed now but I’m so sorry that I didn’t know! I would have subscribed a while ago.

So much better content! I like this change in content instead of shopping/cleaning. Trying new recipes and grocery shopping so much more relatable!

You’re going to loveeee grocery shopping so much more once you have your own place. It’s so fun
I have my own place and I still hate shopping for groceries
Do you have home delivery yet? I do all my groceries on an app and it's delivered to my door
@@bennystar29 no i personally don’t like grocery shopping online. I much prefer picking out my produce myself!
I love watching Adult videos!!

roasted cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes or any vegetable is delicious ! I’ll make them for my friends who don’t like vegetables and they love it. It’s so so good to throw into salads or in a bowl
You can also take the tops off the peppers & cut longways in half and that will give you a better filling to pepper ratio.
Please I beg you Emma start a series Cooking with Emma I would so watch those. ❤️❤️
Aldi is always good, and cheaper like you mentioned. Their cherry lime sparkling water is good if you like sparkling water. Your peppers looked good.

A good tip for meat is for beginners is to temp your meat and make sure it’s 165 and up to know that it’s fully cooked

oikos is probably the best greek yogurt, tastes like regular and doesn’t smell funky + protein is good
My parents have always done most of their grocery shopping at ALDI for years. They have good prices😊.
