Luv the video, your enthusiasm, narration, and especially the comedy. The details you give is fantastic. Im in my late 50's just learning the rockhounding hobby, I learned so much from just this one video, thanks!! and keep it up!! I look forward to your future videos.....
Thank you so much for the wonderfully kind words! Your comment really means a lot to me... I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that you found it both helpful and entertaining. Rockhounding is definitely a super fun hobby and I'm glad you're getting into it!!!
Hey bro im headed to the Virgin Mnts this weekend. Ive been following your vids for the past year, and want to thank you for giving me leads for collecting rocks. If you ever need more hiking buddys im down to join. Peace
Thank you! I'm glad you found my video insightful, and I definitely recommend making a trip out there to do some rockhounding. Thanks for your support!
Thank you for the support and the kind words! Geology is my passion and soon-to-be-career (I graduate with my BS in Geology in a week and I'm stoked!!!) Luckily, I have not had a run in with an aggressive cow... I'd be terrified to have an experience like that haha!
@@RagnarRocks oh man, I LOVE Washington state... we have family friends in Bellingham and Seattle and I’ve got a specimen of Stilpnomelane from the Northern Cascades... WA has amazing geology and scenery. I’ll be there soon my friend, that’s for sure
Love your videos man! If you ever want Invisalign or braces let me know. I’m an orthodontic resident at Roseman in Henderson. Super high tech clinic and like half the price of most places cause it’s a educational institution. Hmu and I’ll hook you up w a discount lol. Not saying you have bad teeth…I just see the potential in your smile! Also not tryna make this sound like an advertisement…I don’t make a dime off patients, I still pay tuition. Anyways, keep it up brotha!
Makes sense, Green Muscovite arguably sounds cooler than Beryl 😂 I know you do your research in this area, you’re the expert here! I was in your petrology class at UNLV (well Arya’s, but you were the TA)!
@@solomonsoutdooradventures Some of the coordinates for these locations on mindat vs. the Olson and Hinrich (1960) paper (which does not give a great description of their location for sampled pegmatites) are a bit misleading. If you go back, I recommend going up the hillside that is on your right at 3:31 for beryl and fine-grained (aplitic) spessartine. And going to Taglo Mine through Cabin Canyon for chrysoberyl and 4-10 cm muscovite books. There is also massive chrysoberyl in a large pegmatite boulder at the entrance to Cabin Canyon with very large garnets (a few several cm's wide but impossible to get out) on top of the boulder. Unfortunately, there are also no Li-minerals here (other than some minor Li muscovite that is only mentioned in the literature), so there should be no lepidolite.
you mention that you can rockhound on the west of the main dirt road, it seems that the most of the mountain is BLM land. Couldn't you rockhound anywhere out there?
First vid I've watched of yours, great stuff
Great work. Incredible finds and entertaining. Thank you for sharing.

Of course! I'd never been there before we went on this adventure, the are is REALLY cool...
You are really good with your materials and what you are looking at and for, good job and liking what you are putting out there

@@RagnarRocks Great area indeed my friend, great area indeed
You should have went to red pocket tanks. Looks like a nice "cool" spring. May be why the cattle are in the area.
Do you take a gps with you to get coordinates of the area where you find rocks?
Great video, have you checked out Gold Mtn yet?
great videos man how do u know where to dig to try to find stuff lol
going to check out chad my soon, i live in henderson:)
My toxic trait thinking I can ride the cows to find more spots on the mountain

Bundy cows, not far from where the standoff was.
Beware the cows
I don't think that's beryl...that's green muscovite. It gains a greenish color when it occurs in more evolved pegmatites.
Also, I wonder how you heard about this place #fieldarea. Good video.

Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed the video. I remember hearing about the Virgin Mountains in class and I just basically consulted some old USGS maps 😂

Video is 12 minutes too long of nonsense
