Amos always got the BEST lines . " I'm out Context here " 🤣 . " And I hate to Wait " 😬. And Holden be like - " Yep . Amos IS a Sociopath , but he is OUR Sociopath " 🥰 . The Expanse , quite likely the BEST Show EVER , by anyone .
I love how this scene was done. Where any other show would have played it as a admittedly badass action scene, where you want to be the like badass guy dishing out ass kickings to punks, the show plays it like how Amos may remember it as he stands in the shower. Just blurred moments, with the sequence of events somewhat unclear. Its like he blanks out and is fighting out of pure instinct. Plus him in the aftermath, just standing in the shower, it takes the inherent "triumphantness" of kicking the asses of multiple people at the same time out of the scene. I almost felt sorry for him. Reminds me of Amos alluding to Alex that living without fear is terrible and exacts a cost on your soul.
There was an epic fight scene. In the Ty and That Guy podcast they talked about it. Naren Shankar, the showrunner, cut it up to the most brutal scenes only and made it about Amos' journey.
I think you’re supposed to feel sorry for him.. the fight is not about protecting anyone, stopping the “bad guys” or being a badass, it’s about his pain over the loss of his “mother” - he is so broken emotionally and has no good way to process the pain of loosing her so he uses violence. It’s very sad.
Amos was also thinking tactically. If he waited then belters would have time to make a good plan that would kill him when he was tired of watching out for himself and others. But if Amos made himself all alone in a vulnerable location, then the belters would listen to their anger and come after him immediately.
dude hell yeah. i loved stargate so much and jack was such an awesome character. kind of a goofball most of the time but when hard calls had to be made, he made them. that episode about the kids with the nanites in their brains gets me every time.
They all seem to be immersed in the storytelling. The fact that they don't think about it as a TV show to comment on the editing is a good thing. That's the sort of stuff you notice on the second viewing. And the editing is great imo.

Amos is my second favourite character on tv after Jack O'Neill ,for different reasons.
