After watching all the films again, I've appreciated Roger Moore so much more. I like him for playing Bond in the subtle fashion that he did. No matter what happened, his James Bond never lost his cool in any given moment.
i'm not a fan of the direction the Bond movies with Roger Moore went, but I've always liked and respected his performance in every one of them. such a gifted actor, just like every other incarnation of the legendary spy :D we never had a bad James Bond. if people say one is bad, it's because they didn't like the interpretation of the character, but acting wise all of them were great, every single one

OMG!!! I have had an ongoing battle/argument on "who was the best Bond" on YT, and this gentleman just won the bet for me. While all the other Bonds brought their own brand of excitement to the role, alas, in my concerted opinion, Daniel Craig embodied more aspects of the man than any other. He's the Bond for the 21st century. But for pure, unmitigated CHARM AND GRACE, it was Roger Moore, all the way.

Not many actors can portray the same character to a different degree and have you still believe that it's actually the same person that's being portrayed no matter what the incarnation, but Roger certainly still had me believing he was bond despite the differences in all the multitude of actors. They all did and do.

I love Albert Finney in Skyfall but I’ve always really wished that Sean Connery would’ve excepted the part as it was originally written for him I think that would’ve been a perfect swan song for his Career but if they couldn’t get him I really wish they would’ve given the role to Roger Moore because again I think it would’ve been a wonderful final role for him

Exactly, Pierce Brosnan synthesized the two versions. Sean Connery established the character, but Roger Moore brought a lot to the character that made him "bigger than life". By synthesizing the two versions, Pierce Brosnan represents the perfect Bond and has the physical and charm to do so.

Roger Moore was fantastic as Bond. He was the biggest pervert, and had a great sense of humor about him. I think his overall presentation suited his strengths, and mainly avoided his weaknesses. He knew he wasn't good at projecting a tough guy image, so he played to his charm. Daniel Craig's strengths are his grit, intensity, and physique. He uses those things to play a different type of Bond. Both are great.

I love movies and series but never was a Bond fan...saw maybe one or two in my 54 years of life. But last year I bought a bluray box with all of them, except for the latest one with Craig. And Casino royale (1967) and Never say never again weren't included....got those two recently. So now I'm watching them and having great fun, finished A view to a kill, Moore's last, today. Now as much as I like Sean Connery as an actor I like Moore's Bond more....the man has that perfect British dry humor and yes, the raised eyebrow is a thing down to perfection. I love when he hangs besides a window, looks in at the bad guy, looks away and immediately back with a dry smile, nod and that eyebrow thing....priceless! And Schwarzenegger's oneliners are a thing....but he (or writers) definitely got it from Bond....Connery had great ones and Moore too.

It's why Classic James Bonds like Moore, Brosnan and Connery were Brilliant while Craig's Bond is nothing more than a vulnerable generic action character with a cool name and heritage built on the backs of 3 of his predecessors.

What a great bloke he was and very funny.
I love movies and series but never was a Bond fan...saw maybe one or two in my 54 years of life. But last year I bought a bluray box with all of them, except for the latest one with Craig. And Casino royale (1967) and Never say never again weren't included....got those two recently.
So now I'm watching them and having great fun, finished A view to a kill, Moore's last, today. Now as much as I like Sean Connery as an actor I like Moore's Bond more....the man has that perfect British dry humor and yes, the raised eyebrow is a thing down to perfection. I love when he hangs besides a window, looks in at the bad guy, looks away and immediately back with a dry smile, nod and that eyebrow thing....priceless!
And Schwarzenegger's oneliners are a thing....but he (or writers) definitely got it from Bond....Connery had great ones and Moore too.

Roger Moore’s bond was more comical . But it was good in it’s day . He was bond when I was young .
He was the bond of my childhood! So effortless, I thought I could never like Daniel Craig because his bond was so serious but I guess each brought his own style
Yeah but as I say it was good in it’s day . But Daniel Craig has brought much more to the role . Even Timothy daltons bond what much more serious . That’s the way it’s went since then and to be honest it’s more real .

This is why i hate, "Who's the best Bond?" threads.
They're all sound in their own portrayals. We can have favourites. We can have closest match to the book character. But best...? As Sean would say, "Bollocksh!"
Hehe my favourite were Sean and Roger and I think they had the biggest impact they made Bond what is!
