  • Hey loves,
    I hope you all are staying safe through this crazy time in the world. For those that don't know I work as a per-diem CNA, while I'm in my last year of nursing school. In this video, I bring you to work with me again! I show you my current day shift routine working 7am-3pm, and how different it is from night shift (11pm-7am). I will admit it's been very hard working in healthcare through this pandemic, but all we can do is remain positive. A huge shout out goes out to ALL MY HEALTH CARE and ESSENTIAL WORKERS who are truly making a difference during this time. I hope you all enjoy this video, and continue to stay safe. My prayers are with you all!
    Xoxo,
    Aleysia K. Smith

    People need to put more RESPECT ✊ on CNAs. The Cna be having 15-20 patients by their self and be doing majority of the work. You’re very pretty and seem like a very nice Cna that love her job.

    Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm a LPN in Ohio and I was a STNA (what Ohio calls CNAs) for a year before I was a nurse. Words can express how much I appreciate the CNAs, STNAs, PCTs, RAs whatever your state or facility may refer to you as. I can't do my job without the wonderful men and women who are nurses aides. You don't hear it enough, you are appreciated! Best of luck to you in nursing school! You've got this!

    Wow 🤩 your facility looks like something out of a magazine I mean everything is so organized and put together I can’t believe that the hoyer lift is connected at the top like that we have to go looking for a hoyer lift and only one hoyer lift works properly in the entire facility then on top of that we never have enough wipes or depends and most days we work short and we’ll have like 16 patients per gna / cna and most of the patients are dependent on your team but you might get a few independent patients if you’re lucky and now they are making us pour the coffee and hot water in the cups at breakfast ugh 😩 it’s a disaster but I’m still blessed to get the experience cuz I’m trying to become a registered nurse or nurse practitioner

    I’m in the process of becoming a CNA now. Here in Alabama it’s a 10 day process to go through the class and then I’ll begin training right away. I start clinicals in 3 days. I love it so far. I am nervous because it’s a lot to take in and I’m nervous to take care of them on my own. Your videos gave me so much comfort and gave me a good idea of what it’s going to be like! I’ll be working 2nd shift, 3-11. I’ll start training in day shift. Wish me luck! We have 120 days after we finish classes to take the test and become certified!

      Truth Rhames This is such a good question! I had the hardest time getting into a hospital in my area as well. My CNA program actually helped me get a job at my hospital, which I’m super thankful for. My advice would be to keep applying and keep calling if you have too. CNA’s right now are needed just about everywhere! Best of luck to you!!💗

    • @AntStein
      @AntStein 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      i work the day shift, and let me tell you it can be pretty hectic between the showers, breakfast/lunch tray pass, getting up for therapy/appointments etc it can be a handful and draining, night shift is more relaxing from what my co workers have mentioned to me.

    • @AleysiaKSmith
      @AleysiaKSmith  4 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      I have a love/hate relationship with both shifts. Day shift can be super hectic, however you get out early and still get to go on and enjoy your day. Night shift is more relaxing yes, but your whole sleeping schedule gets messed up so it can be hard to get used to, plus can be a toll on your body. I like doing both to be honest!

      I'm wanting to be a PTA, and a CNA certificate was suggested to me at my university because it fulfills the prereqs to get in to PTA but gives me another employment avenue. PTA is two years, their CNA certificate is one year if you don't have like transfer credits. There is a clinical module in the second semester.
