@@Yu7Zi Because most people like FromSoftware's Soulsborne genre games because they are generally "difficult but fair," but PC Radahn was missing the "fair" part. Outlandishly large hitboxes extending past his weapon range, a cursed double-slash that was nearly impossible to nail the frame-perfect dodge if you weren't running Light Load, never-ending combos that would physically twist his model at the waist because his attack speed was greater than his repositioning speed in some cases, and a whole bunch of other jank. Light of Miquella was knocking on the door of being nearly inescapable unless you started sprinting immediately. And lets not forget the constantly blinding particle effects from Phase 2 that not only made his attacks very difficult to read, but would also tank many players in-game FPS. All of this lead to his fight being very hard to learn, and that makes it frustrating. Even Malenia has pauses to observe and internalize. If we got to fight Phase 1 through his entire health bar like Malenia, the fight would have been more fun and taught players his moveset more effectively. His flaws were absolutely inexcusable imo, and as you can tell by the comments above, he only got away with it for so long because "he's the final boss". Surprised they didn't buff the shields earlier. No one wanted to block with anything else other than great shields so most people locked themselves out of guard counter mecahnics.
you can guard counter with a greatshield, you just can’t place a parry skill on it. Small shields are still obsolete and they’ve done nothing to help it
I mean it's still not good. Look, everything that's not a boss or miniboss is a pushover. You can kill them with a torch. Mini-bosses can be fought with guard counters, some very effectively so. But they're all but useless against most bosses unless you use the deflecting hardtear. Nobody has the stamina needed to tank a boss's combo, then guard counter, then dodge away. And the attacks where you could block reasonably usually push you away or are followed up too quickly to do a guard counter.
That Bayle's Tyranny fix was needed, the way the skill worked before just made zero sense when looking at the animation. Using it in a crowd was just asking to get yourself jumped.
While I've been using a Great Katana with either Aspects of the Crucible: Wings (I wanted the AoW as soon as I saw it in the trailer) or with Vacuum Slice, I've had Dyleaf Arts and Renala's Twinblades as options, so this patch is good for giving me more usage of my alternative weapons.

It's really more of a fix than a nerf. A dodge window was made minimally easier (more aligned with the animation attack imo), eg. It's still a very tough fight and you'll very likely still get beaten into a pulp several times. Just reduces the frustration from deaths that came out of nowhere because the hitbox was slightly too big for the animation.

The shield strike was nerfed because of a true combo. It would true combo off of certain weapons like a curved great sword attack then while the opponent was stunned, you can follow up with a shield strike and the opponent cannot roll out of it.

I beat the un-Nerfed Rahdann back at launch and to those that missed it, believe me, that boss fight was not fun. I’m curious how much of a “nerf” this really is but this boss definitely needed one. It’s just not fun and IMO commits the worst crime you can do with a final boss: completely ignore the game mechanics you’ve been teaching the players up to this point. I know the final boss of Dark Souls 1 is considered a joke by many BUT it felt satisfying because you were essentially learning how to parry throughout the game and it was a culmination of all your experience/test of your build. PCR is the exact opposite of that, which is what I hate about it.
Malenia also disregarded the game's mechanics as well yet elitists love to defend her bs just like they do Radahn. They can't fathom that FS can actually make bad game design choices.
@@anonisnoone6125 I disagree. Maliena is well within the games mechanics. And she’s beatable regardless of what build you go for. PCR isn’t. I say that as a guy who’s beaten the game five times with five different builds and beat every single boss before the DLC.
Radahn was too much. Most of his normal swings fill half the room with effects in p2. Mezmer was a fun difficult boss. Radahn i just swapped to a greatshield / rapier build and cheesed from behind my aegis.
Really glad they fixed that 3 hit that finished with a crossed sword attack. That was the only one that actually felt unfair to me. Unless you were light rolling and kept left.. it was always a frame trap attack.
Not sure if it’s patch related but experienced a huge bug last night. Was heading North to the Shadow Keep and was hugging the cliff on the left by the furnace golem. It was here where the screen went black and immediately into the cutscene of the player draining water out of the Keep. It then transported me to the location where you pull the lever inside the Keep. Would be awful for someone to experience that if they hadn’t been to the keep just yet. Luckily, I was just messing around and had already completed that scene and opened that part of the Keep up.
Let's hope that in patch 1.15 Radahn's swords can be combined into a paired Curved GreatSword with an stance ash of war from which you can do both Lord and Light AoW
Guys, it seems that I'm the only one but I'm so glad they buffes ansback furious blade, that speel was so cool yet so bad i couldnt use it. Maybe I can put it un a build now
As your average skill level player who has completed Elden Ring at least 7 times with nearly 800 hours in game... I am going to admit I am glad they nerfed Radahn. Honestly I have to admit I just got tired of the slog of trying to beat him legitimately and I never finished the game - first Souls game other than Dark Souls 2 where I just couldn't be bothered. I thought the fight was ridiculous personally so even a modest nerf will still leave it as a formidable fight
I think the buff to medium shield is to encourage using guard counters and especially parry. Before it was a no brainer to just use fingerprint shield and poke behind it.
I’m kind of disappointed I haven’t fought Radahn yet.. I got spoiled as to his existence in the dlc but now knowing I won’t be able to experience his max strength is kinda sad.
Beat Radahn pre nerf once and only once, and im glad they nerfed him because his second phase was challenging for all the wrong reasons and the rewards for beating him are not worth it in my opinion
I finished the final boss fight before any nerfs, but I'm glad more people will get to experience beating the boss now. It's still going to be a ridiculously difficult fight, regardless. edit: Also very happy they buffed the obsidian lamina. It's my new favourite weapon
I can see the point of nerfing General Chadan, but seeing how sluggish his moves are now in comparation to its old moves feels... odd... but honestly its great that we dont have to deal with the massive flashbag he tossed at us in 2nd phase
The radahn nerf is welcome. I did it on release and it was easy ish. Until they nerfed the hell out of the boss and thorns spell then it was like fighting ishin again On my second playthrough. Il attempt it again now
Honestly, the Radahn nerf is good but some changes were completely unnecessary. The dmg nerf, the hitbox removal from the meteor ground slam and the follow up after the clone attack should've stayed as well. Also, it feels like his recoveries r a bit too long cos he just stands still. But I guess that was the only way too add punish windows. Overall, a good nerf.
Can we get a consort radahn build with his rewards, it’s weird that the weapons scale with magic but do holy damage, they could’ve at least made them scale with holy damage as they’d be perfect for a strength/faith build, can be a bit awkward to put together so a build guide would be useful 🙏🏼🙌
Thank god for the boss nerf. Hopefully all the Elden nerds that are game +7 have had the opportunity to beat him on hard mode. Dog water players like myself are forever thankful for the nerf.

Waiting wishfully for the holy damage item interaction changes. Hopefully next. Miquella’s seal and Crown need to actually work. Sucks that they are still bugged.
Most players needed bland, repetitive, bs builds to beat Consort Radahn. Yes he needed nerfed. It was comical. He also wasn't nerfed where he actually needed it so the struggle is still there. He needs his hit boxes reworked.
I wish they'd improve the tracking on spells because against bosses, so many just fly right by them as they fly around the arena like GD spider monkeys on coke.
They did Radahn dirty. The Radahn fight should be the hardest fight because this is the final boss of the dlc. I'm so proud of myself that I've already solo beaten him on the vanilla release of the dlc thrice.🎉❤
This patch is kinda crazy ngl...I think there are major meta shifting implications for pvp and just a ton of great buffs for pve.... definitely want to get back in and test some things out ..
Radahn nerf is boring zZzZz Edit: It's complicated, the game being popular brings more people to the community, but these people don't want to be part of the community as it is, they want to make it easier and easier.
Nerfing single player bosses is trash. I only have a few hours each week to play this game. I have really enjoyed it so far, and I have been looking forward to the final boss since SOTE released. I want to face the bosses as they were imagined by the creators. I feel like the value of my purchase is reduced when these nerfs take place.
The only nerf that feels very weird to me is Shield Strike. Can anyone tell me how was this needed and what was the interaction? Cause it never seemed anything too strong. I had it on my mind for a while that I should create a build for it, but now its nerfed...
Using it as your main and for example a curved greatsword in the left, you could “true combo” other players in PVP. Shield Strike into left handed attack with curved GS was theoretically un dodgeable (assuming you’re in the range for both hits and Shield Strike connects) so yeah that’s why.
@@KodFrostwrath I’m willing to bet that it was just unintended and it had recently been popularized in PVP settings. Was it in the general balance adjustments or was it on the PVP exclusive list? I thought it was PVP but maybe not
Unfortunately I think From have created a situation where players are going to be rushing through their future titles to beat them before the nerfs hit.
Hi, nice vid but would you rather choose starfist, madding hand or literally any fist weapons except pata? (In a Str/Fth situation, I want to cosplay as a hobo fighting with fist weapons)
I'm on my way to beat him on NG+7. Fighting him on NG+5/Journy6 was like stepping into the ring with him on my first DLC run...smashing my face like crazy, but I eventually got him. Would I like to have beat him on NG+7 before the changes? Yes. But this needed to happen, so I'm not mad and will take it. Looking forward to a much wider variety of builds being viable again.
I appreciate the balance changes as I don't want my cheaf concern when creating a new character to be " Can this beat Consort Radahn?" He should not NEGATE 90% of builds effectiveness. Milenia, in contrast, is challenging but o ly negates 10-20% of builds...largely involving shield builds...which can be solved by rolling instead of blocking just for one fight. She's also not a final boss, difficulty aside.
I don't get your point. Radahn can be poisoned, rotted, frostbitten and is not magic resistant 😅 what are those 90% builds you talk about composed of? Holy damage?

I just want to fire cracked pots out of the jar cannons.
@@NathanCassidy721the nerf is reasonable and makes for better replay value
It's good that they buffed rellana's cameo. I was already using it but this will make it a bit easier.
The radahn nerf is a little sad, but I already beat him once now on NG+ 5, it is what it is. But the other buffs seem interesting
Radahn was too much. Most of his normal swings fill half the room with effects in p2. Mezmer was a fun difficult boss. Radahn i just swapped to a greatshield / rapier build and cheesed from behind my aegis.
Now let's fix the bug where Shard of Alexander doesn't buff Needle Piercer.
...But at least they still didn't nerf Carian Sovereignty, or Moonrithyll's Sword/Tremendous Phalanx.
Really glad they fixed that 3 hit that finished with a crossed sword attack.
That was the only one that actually felt unfair to me. Unless you were light rolling and kept left.. it was always a frame trap attack.
I'm still in disbelief they didnt remove the Radahn Mimic's Veil cheese. I used it in my stealth build run, it felt appropriate.
Im at least happy that I beat all 15 base game rememberance bosses and all 10 dlc remembrance bosses before they were nerfed.
Nice I needed a reason to play again! When the nerf a boss then you know it was way to darn hard lol
May I ask what song you're using for your outro?
I absolutely love it and really want it in my playlist, lol
Ive defeated Radahn twice before this patch and im reeeally happy alot of other people will not have to deal with some of the BS we did.
Maybe I can put it un a build now
Now I can say I beat Starscourge and promised Consort Radahn pre nerf
Too bad they didnt buff Rellanas Twin Moons
Finally I can enjoy fighting Radahn
Weak
@@rjjustine9283 I'm not weak I already beaten radahn pre nerf but I do not enjoy fighting him over 50+ times but now I can
@@DESTINED2912 weakk
@@rjjustine9283 you know what.i just realised I can't beat dumb people in argument
@@DESTINED2912 weakkkk
I feel like they shouldn’t have nerfed him, he might be the final-final boss of the souls series. He should be the hardest
Rellana’s Cameo buff: +45% damage and a 1 second charge is huge! Mixed feelings about how much they nerfed Radahn’s nuts.
I’m kind of disappointed I haven’t fought Radahn yet.. I got spoiled as to his existence in the dlc but now knowing I won’t be able to experience his max strength is kinda sad.
To be fair that attack that they removed was absolutely bullshit, it was a cheap move, he’s still a really hard boss he’s just refined a bit more
Beat Radahn pre nerf once and only once, and im glad they nerfed him because his second phase was challenging for all the wrong reasons and the rewards for beating him are not worth it in my opinion
I finished the final boss fight before any nerfs, but I'm glad more people will get to experience beating the boss now. It's still going to be a ridiculously difficult fight, regardless.
edit: Also very happy they buffed the obsidian lamina. It's my new favourite weapon
Good for you?
the problem for Radahn was that you couldn't see shit when fighting him. that's it... I don't feel like the boss was way too hard
Il attempt it again now
Holding for a couple of seconds in Shadow of the Erdtree is impossible without a stagger.
They overdid it in nerfing Radahn.
Cross slash and light particles were the only changes needed.
Hidden fix to the soul stifler bug not mentioned in the patch notes??? 🥺 Please???
I need that frenzied flame build!!! ASAP
People kept on complaining about a game thats supposed to be difficult.. 😱
surprised they didn't buff Radahn.
So, basically all 1.13 builds still work the same? No major nerf?
PCR seems to have higher resistance to rot since the patch, one Scarlet Aeonia won't proc anymore, worth investigating
Thank god for the boss nerf. Hopefully all the Elden nerds that are game +7 have had the opportunity to beat him on hard mode. Dog water players like myself are forever thankful for the nerf.
Hi! Huge thanks for your videos. They really help me learn about new games and their gameplay. I always look forward to your reviews! By the way, are you planning to make a video about Boosteroid? I would love to hear your opinion! Good luck, and keep up the great work!
I'm so proud of myself that I've already solo beaten him on the vanilla release of the dlc thrice.🎉❤
radahn wasnt nerfed, he was fixed. its all illegit bullshit like hitboxes, blockingthe wrong hand and so on
This patch is kinda crazy ngl...I think there are major meta shifting implications for pvp and just a ton of great buffs for pve.... definitely want to get back in and test some things out ..
I haven't had access to my ps5 in over a year and i never got a chance to not up erg
SOTE and now I'll never get pre nerf Radahn.
7:45 A new frenzy build, you say?
(Glances at brand new Frenzy play through I just started a few hours ago)
Beat Radahn pre-nerf. RL 150, no blessings. They should have just nerfed the lightshow and the hair for better visibility.
Rusty will definitely be happy to see the tyrany spell fix. I know i am.
Actually so disappointed about the radhan nerfs. The only broke shit was the double slash every other nerf is so overkill
Is it possible to make sure you don’t get the patch by turning off network settings on PS5?
Radahn nerf is boring zZzZz
Edit: It's complicated, the game being popular brings more people to the community, but these people don't want to be part of the community as it is, they want to make it easier and easier.
I beat radahn twice before his nerf and the amount of damage he does feels a lot lower even on ng+2
@@wolfiemuse Thanks for the answer. Its a shame to have an AoW nerfed as a whole just because of a minor pvp interaction.
@@KodFrostwrath I’m willing to bet that it was just unintended and it had recently been popularized in PVP settings. Was it in the general balance adjustments or was it on the PVP exclusive list? I thought it was PVP but maybe not
Ill be waiting for that madness build!
Nowhere near finishing the dlc
Of course this patch drops the day after I beat Radahn. Oh well.
Instead of getting good, the good got you.
Unfortunately I think From have created a situation where players are going to be rushing through their future titles to beat them before the nerfs hit.
Thank fromsoft I killed all the bosses pre nerf.... F radhan
I beat him before nerf took me a full day and I enjoyed! Sad he had nerf. I like challenges the hardest the best
Hi, nice vid but would you rather choose starfist, madding hand or literally any fist weapons except pata? (In a Str/Fth situation, I want to cosplay as a hobo fighting with fist weapons)
Slap a little arcane and use the ultimate hobo weapon the Poison Hand😂
Rellana’s twin moons does have hyperarmor now
I'm on my way to beat him on NG+7.
