OMG this song is making me cry. So many memories from my childhood. This song was so popular in 2002.-2005. and in all birthday parties there was this song. Love that period of my life and love this song so so much. Listen to this in 2019. and I am 23 now. Love you people. ❤❤❤
For those that think the chorus sounds vaguely familiar: the song is about a guy who goes to the club and asks the DJ to play "Rapper's Delight" by Sugarhill Gang, and sings along in gibberish because he doesn't know the English lyrics. It's something that those of us who grew up in non-English speaking households can relate to, because either we or our parents had one song we really liked and sang along with and ended up singing gibberish 😄
Shut up!!! Back then when I was living in Argentina it was said they were accused of plagiarism, but I never really knew the story you mention, which makes complete sense now. Twenty something years later… Thank you!!!
I thought the gibberish was due to the guy being high on coke. I was under the impression the song is about a guy high on coke jamming to his favorite song

First kiss, first time drunk, first time sick with alcohol, first joint, first parties and concerts, first everything. Then a wonderful doing nothing summer in California to see some family, between swimming pool and endless Game Cube with cousins. Then all went wrong. Parents violently divorcing, selling the house where I grew up, social isolation almost complete, troubles and clumsiness in school, completely missing social and sentimental life until around 20. Litteraly lost years. But this song still brings me back to 2004 from spring to summer, before all this.

Ram verma not words, they are singing misheard lyrics from rappers delight. "i said a hip hop, Hippie to the hippie, The hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie, To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat."
Another beloved 90's kid, I see! I was born on January 4th, 1992 and jammed to this retro tune Independence Day, 1999. Now that I'm 30 years old in 2023, I'm starting to enjoying jamming to this, not NEW Era Rap or twerking.👍🥰
Right, because when you're 7 years old you don't care about body image. I grew up in the 1990s and tons of teenagers were suffering from eating disorders back then. Life in the past is not as great as we pretend it was.
Sampled "I said a hip hop the hippity hip hip hop you dont stop rocking to the rhythme of the boogie the beat" but sang with diffrent lyrics thats why I love this song so much. Very artistic

I said a hip hop Hippie to the hippie The hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it out Bubba to the bang bang boogie, boobie to the boogie To the rhythm of the boogie the beat

Lyrics (ASEREJE)
(INSTRUMENTAL)
Mira lo que se avecina
A la vuelta de la esquina
Viene Diego rumbeando
Con la luna en las pupilas
Y su traje agua marina
Parece de contrabando
Y donde mas no cabe un alma
Alli se mete a darse caña
Poseido por el ritmo ragatanga
Y el dj que lo conoce
Toca el himno de las doce
Para Diego la cancion mas deseada
Y la baila, y la goza y la canta
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
No es cosa de brujería
Que lo encuentre tos los dias
Por donde voy caminando
Diego tiene chuleria
Y ese punto de alegria
Rastafari afrogitano
Y donde mas no cabe un alma
Alli se mete a darse caña
Poseido por el ritmo ragatanga
Y el dj que lo conoce
Toca el himno de las doce
Para Diego la cancion mas deseada
Y la baila, y la goza y la canta
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba

So true !
Ram verma same
Nobody does, cause its a parody :_)
Clara Buchmuller thats precisely why its a parody, since in Spain back then none understood much English if at all, and thats how it sounded :)
Ram verma not words, they are singing misheard lyrics from rappers delight.
"i said a hip hop,
Hippie to the hippie,
The hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it
To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie,
To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat."
let's go spain love love these songs
Absolutely nostalgic, I was born in 1991 and this song brings me back to my childhood grade school days.
Another beloved 90's kid, I see! I was born on January 4th, 1992 and jammed to this retro tune Independence Day, 1999. Now that I'm 30 years old in 2023, I'm starting to enjoying jamming to this, not NEW Era Rap or twerking.👍🥰
My lovely childhood.
Still remember to those times when we were kids, there was no toxic social media, fake body images, etc, and we've been dancing to this song...
¿El para que cosa de quien? 👁_👁
Algo anda mal
Maybe because it was a hit during our childhood!!
Right, because when you're 7 years old you don't care about body image. I grew up in the 1990s and tons of teenagers were suffering from eating disorders back then. Life in the past is not as great as we pretend it was.
U need to understand things were different as a kid, I definitely remember my mom and her friends obsessing over surgery
Sampled "I said a hip hop the hippity hip hip hop you dont stop rocking to the rhythme of the boogie the beat" but sang with diffrent lyrics thats why I love this song so much. Very artistic
These are the same lyrics, just Diego was trying to sing what he was hearing.
"Mira lo que se avecina
A la vuelta de la esquina
Viene Diego rumbeando.
